I Wouldn't Worry To Much About this Interview

I don't agree that the interview was as one sided as the writer of the article says however he does have some points. Dr. Paul will appeal to certain folks and others will be turned off.

One thing that may hurt the good Doctor is the questioning on the earmarks. I think Dr. Paul did a fair job of explaining and his analogy of not liking the tax system but taking your tax credits anyway was gold, however I don't have a lot of confidence in people caring enough to understand it and also their general distrust of politicians would lead them to not trust Dr. Paul if they had never seen him before and saw that exchange. On the other hand I doubt a lot folks saw the interview or if they did paid much attention to it.

Overall I wouldn't worry about this interview too much and in the long run it may help as this will be the standard by which the media will attack him because they probably think they have found his weakness. However the good Dr. will only continue to improve on how he answers these types of questions.

Russert threw some misquotes

Russert threw some misquotes at him, like the "Reagan is a traitor" one, and the stuff about pork for his Congressional district was irresponsible and unrealistic. But the worst thing, and the thing that most caught the good Dr. offguard was when Russert quoted Eric Dondero, the wing nut self proclaimed "libertarian republican" who was fired from Ron Paul's staff. And I think Russert was rude and interrupted RP several times ala Bill Oh really.

have you watched this show before?

He does that to EVERYONE! It was much worse for Giuliani...

His truth shines through his speaking

Sure, Ron's speech is sometimes clumsy. But his content was impeccable. Freeland the freedom hater reveals his own desperation trying to smear Ron by simply citing his conclusions to several questions while ignoring Ron's reasoning. Any fair minded person who saw Ron on Russert and then read Freeland could not but conclude honest reporting is the least of Freeland's concerns.

I agree with this author My

I agree with this author My skepticism lead me to the doctor and that same skepticism tellsme that this interview could have one much better. However, Russert was bit more harsh than he has been in prior interviews. It took 20 million in fundraising just to get on this show long after Dodd, Kucinich, and Richardson made appearances

Not at all.. I completely disagree

Did you see the Giuliani interview? Giuliani constantly laughed nervously cause he was nailed, and Tim even asked about his ties to foreign terrorists. This was nothing in comparison.

Its better to get Ron Paul on NOW than 6 months ago. This will stay fresh in peoples mind. You are not going to convince everyone, but many will join the forces.

Sometimes the Delivery Overshadows the Message

I agree that Dr. Paul was at times rambling and not giving concise answers and those not familiar with his positions on the issues might be confused and hostile. However, the goal was clear..smaller and Contitutionally endorsed government.

Dwight Eisenhower failed to give precise answers and sometimes never answered the questions at all and he became a general, college president, and U.S. president. There is still hope, but I suggest that Dr. Paul, who gives a great speech (Philadelphia rally, College of Charlestown presentation, Robert Taft organization in Virginia, and many others) probably needs to slow down and stick with the short, but to the point, responses to questions from interviewers like Russert. There will be more such interviews as we move forward and win the nomination.

The Revolution continues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you be more specific

"I agree that Dr. Paul was at times rambling and not giving concise answers and those not familiar with his positions on the issues might be confused and hostile." What exactly did you think he was no clear on and rambling on? I watched it twice now and he answered everything. Better than anything I have seen before.

he was definitely being

he was definitely being vague on his points to make Ron look bad

Ron "wouldnt fund S. Korea even if they were attacked by N Korea"
even though Ron said "it would be up to the congress, people need to realize this isnt the presidents job"

not direct quotes but the idea of what Ron was actually saying.

there's other obvious examples in there too
