Johnson: Just as Ron Paul was left out of other debates in 2008

Gary Johnson is being snubbed this coming monday at the CNN Debates. We need to be supporting Johnson as well as Dr. Paul.. We need to call and request that Johnson be included, as we would hope that they would do the same if Ron Paul was being excluded.
This is what Dr. Paul says in Ron Paul Rising on the National Review online.

Ron Paul says....

“It is good to have a couple people up there during debates, it gives us both more credibility. During the first debate in South Carolina, when they quizzed me about drugs, he backed me up.”

Paul does not see him as a foe. “The more the merrier,” he says. “In the narrow, political sense, I don’t think it hurts. It might make me a better candidate.”

Paul emphasizes that he is on an educational mission. “[Johnson] might appeal to a different group of libertarians,” he says. “My goals may be a little different for the long term, but that does not mean that we should be sharp political competitors.

Think of last time around when they ganged up on Ron Paul about why they attacked us.. Guliani jumped on Ron Paul, and the rest of the Republicans did as well. If he is alone on the stage, they try to make him out to be a crazy uncle type. We all need to stand together and to call CNN to get Gary Johnson on, not to split the vote, but to keep Ron Paul in the running. It's harder to make him out to be crazy when there are multiple people on stage that share quite a few ideas in common.

I think all Paul supporters need to request for Gary Johnson to be included..

They invited people that weren't even running

And the ones that were running, and did meet the polling requirements(ones that they actually were included in) they don't allow.
It doesn't make sense why they would invite Palin, or Trump, etc, etc. Especially when they didn't create an exploratory committee, etc.

Why Governor Johnson was not invited to the NH debate.

Response follows: The New Hampshire Union Leader and its partners CNN and WMUR cannot invite every Republican presidential hopeful to their June 13 debate. Why? More than 140 candidates have already filed with the Federal Election Commission. No two-hour debate can include that many participants. The partners believed an early debate must include a wide field. But a line must be drawn. One option was off the table. The partners would not directly choose the participants. Public opinion, not editors' opinions, should select the field. In April, the partners agreed to invite anyone who could clear a very low hurdle: 2% support in just a few of the many national and state polls. (For precise details, see http://bit.ly/lCyuUV.) That system allowed 13 invitations to be issued, which is an unusually large number. Three possible candidates later withdrew, three others declined. Seven will participate. As you know, a few candidates who campaigned in New Hampshire did not qualify. Gary Johnson, Buddy Roemer and Fred Karger were included in two polls of likely primary voters released by the University of New Hampshire in May.......

Thanks for the non-conspiracy theory explanation.

Dr. Paul doesn't think 9/11 was an inside job, isn't a Birther, supports intellectual property, doesn't believe in chemtrails, doesn't believe the Fema camp conspiracy theory, doesn't believe the Moon landing was faked, says Israel is a "close friend," su

Paul could work this to his advantage

I already made this comment on another post, but I think it wouldn't hurt to say it again.
I've got an idea for a publicity stunt that I wanted to send to Dr. Paul's presidential campaign but I couldn't find a way to contact them.

Here's the idea: Somehow get a life size cardboard cutout/poster of fellow candidate Gary Johnson onstage, Dr. Paul could make a comment on how Gov. Johnson met the criteria to be at the debate but was excluded anyway and that in the interest of fairness he is standing up for Johnson. If Johnson can distill his stand on the various issues to sound bites no more than five to ten seconds long Dr. Paul could also add those into his answers without taking to much time away from his own positions.

This stunt would give Dr. Paul a lot of good publicity. He would look like a good sport, a fair player, someone who stands up for the underdog, and who is not afraid to stand up to those with power. In other words, it would make him look like an all-around nice guy and the life size cardboard cutout beside him would definitely get the attention of anyone watching the debate. Since Johnson's positions are very close to Dr. Paul's it would make Dr. Paul look more mainstream and less like the crazy loner that many of his opponents try to paint him as. I know that some Johnson supporters are planning to protest at the debate tonight in an attempt to bring Johnson some publicity. If Dr. Paul participates he will also get publicity from the situation. It's basically a win-win idea in my opinion.

I realize that a life-size cardboard cutout of Johnson may be hard to get in time for the debate tonight. Possibly Dr. Paul could have a life size photo of Johnson's face to hold up whenever he gives Johnson's position on an issue. Although it wouldn't be as good since a life size cutout beside Dr. Paul would draw attention to him throughout the entire debate and would be seen in any photos of the debate, any show of support would likely result in more press attention and publicity for Dr. Paul.

No, this would make Ron look foolish

A cardboard cutout? No, no, no. Gary Johnson is not Nelson Mandela, he is getting short shrift for the media, and possibly even his own GOP but he'll make his own mark.

Tonight Ron should mention Gary Johnson

Tonight Ron should mention Gary Johnson in his response to a question. Like "on this issue I would agree with Gary Johnson" maybe his sugestion to block grant some entitlements to the states. Or I can admire what Gary Johnson did to balance the budget in New Mexico. If nothing else it would shame the CNN gate keepers and rally support from the Gary Johnson supporters.

A better advantage would be reactive rather than proactive

Let any comparisons made between Paul and Johnson be made by the media if they chose to raise them.

It is better for Dr. Paul to defend his unique message well, than appear an advocate for a like-minded opponent, unless the questions are posed for him to respond to.

Tell @CNNTeam on Twitter

The team may not check their email - or take it very seriously, but their social media team take things shared about them on twitter very seriously. I mentioned that they should include Johnson and they tweeted back to me right away - they don't want too many public statements about their bias out there - so let them know you mean business by calling them out on this on twitter today. Maybe you can even get a trend going like #CNNDebateUnfair. Good luck

Seabiscuit and Secretariat vs War Mongers

Heading into tonight's event without Governor Gary Johnson is indeed a great loss, both for the audience and his earned recognition as a voice for Liberty.

Hopefully, he will find someone sympathetic in late night TV, like Leno did for Paul once, so that he might leverage this CNN snubbing towards some media advantage.

Wouldn't it have been amazing if Seabiscuit, Secretariat, War Admiral, AND Man-of-War could have raced on the same track?

Check out this clip I found of Seabiscuit vs. War Admiral and try not to cheer, I dare you!

I tried

By sending the Communist News Network a note asking them to include Johnson. Even with support from some of us they are excluding him which is sad. I would expect no less from the MSM. Also, realize that our guy is ONLY being included this time because he is the only voice that has credibility on the economy. Romney will come in, with all of his business "experience", and save the day for the Republican Party. It's all a charade to get the nominee they want and obfuscate the truth.

Including Johnson DOUBLES the airtime for broadcasting the freedom and liberty message. The MSM/keepers surely do not want that!

Give us clear vision, that we may know where to stand and what to stand for - because unless we stand for something, we shall fall for anything.
~ Peter Marshall, US Senate Chaplain 1947

Dr. Paul is not being included because

he has credibility on the economy. He's being included because is polling his high enough to be included. Gary Johnson's is not. It's as simple as that. The views of the candidates are irrelevant. All that matters is how high they poll, because that's how debate organizers traditionally measure viability and what audiences want to see. Gary Johnson will have to earn higher polling, like Dr. Paul had to do.

Dr. Paul doesn't think 9/11 was an inside job, isn't a Birther, supports intellectual property, doesn't believe in chemtrails, doesn't believe the Fema camp conspiracy theory, doesn't believe the Moon landing was faked, says Israel is a "close friend," su

My point isn't why Gary Johnson isn't being included

We could guess why CNN is allowing Ron Paul and not Gary Johnson until we are blue in the face. Like I said before, I am not a pro Gary Johnson supporter, I have been a Ron Paul supporter for many years, but going to Gary Johnson political website, he has evidence that he has sent to CNN showing how he has the needed requirements to be able to participate.
Many candidates who later became president didn't have high numbers to begin with, and they weren't excluded from debates just because the media felt they didn't have a chance.

First they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Love this

We need to speak out for the liberty message.
It doesn't have to be just Dr. Paul, its the total message.
And we need to stick up for others who carry it.
Besides, I am sure if the Johnson group saw us with integrity, they would do the same for us.

trade unionists?

"I think that I have already answered the first question adequately. In the present state of affairs I am convinced that we cannot possibly dispense with the trades unions. On the contrary, they are among the most important institutions in the economic life of the nation. Not only are they important in the sphere of social policy but also, and even more so, in the national political sphere. For when the great masses of a nation see their vital needs satisfied through a just trade unionist movement the stamina of the whole nation in its struggle for existence will be enormously reinforced thereby.

Before everything else, the trades unions are necessary as building stones for the future economic parliament, which will be made up of chambers representing the various professions and occupations."

-Adolf Hitler

And yet the majority of trade unionists were/are just regular folks trying to take care of their families like everyone else. Hate the game not the player.

The point

is that Hitler never went after trade unionists. He boosted the unions and created Germany's first day celebrating union workers. Union workers are hardly victims.

personally who cares..

We got our guy... gary johnson and michelle bachman are just vote splitters... if they cared anything about this country they would just sitting down and go home and quit stealing votes from Ron Paul... anyone that wants to stand up for them is moronic cuz you got your guy already... let the vote splitters be sidelined more power to Ron Paul. if you dont see it that way then way to go on trying to screw this up for us.

"When the Power of Love overcomes the Love of Power the World will know Peace." ~Jimi Hendrix

Michelle Bachman is worse for

Michelle Bachman is worse for Romney then Paul. Gary Johnson is not a vote splitter. Johnson will actually give credence to Ron Pauls views. Ideas getting across to the American people are what is important in these debates.

You should care

It's not about splitting votes, its about getting Dr Paul that much closer to the finish line!

Quoting a few friends
"I think the issue is whether or not he should be excluded from the debates. This early on...I think not. Its not as if there are clear front runners this early on when there hasn't been any primaries yet. Is his being excluded an issue for Ron Paul supporters ? I guess there are multiple ways of looking at it. His supporters while smaller in number than Ron Paul supporters could become Ron Paul supporters at some point if Johnson drops out. It could also be a matter of principle for some that he be included. It can also be looked at that energy and effort spent trying to get him into the debate is energy that could be spent supporting Ron Paul."

And another friend...
"We got to stand for justice or what are we? What is it that we are fighting for? If we act like the people we want to defeat?
It is good for the others GOP if Gray Johnson is not in the debate. But you can't demean Dr Paul if there is another crazy uncle on the stage one that is in line with Ron Paul's thinking.
So I say to you are we in to win this, or do we just want to be like the rest of the people we are fighting against."

Let the MSM continue to marginialize Paul

Just wait until after this debate tonight, and you will see just why we need others with similar views in the debate.
I gurantee that it won't be long before Dr. Paul is excluded from other debates because the Media doesn't deem him Modern Conservative enough.
It happened last time in regards to many of his stances, and the rest of the GOP and the host Media Pundits jumped all over Paul to make him look crazy.
It's much harder to make someone look crazy when there are others out there that have views similar to yours.

Using That Logic

Only one person should run for the nomination. Have the powers-that-be pick one candidate to run for the nomination, no vote splitting at all. I'm sure the voters won't mind if they have fewer options.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

The message of libery

It is important for the message of libery to spread, through whatever platform. ultimatly if more people understand liberty the more votes ron paul, and all the over true conservatives will get.

Thomas Jefferson: "Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Please post who to call / email / etc

I added it to the above..

We need a strong bench for this election and beyond

Since I'm a mere 40 years old, I still have (hopefully) another 40 to haunt this country, and the youngest of my three children is only 20 days old, so we need a pipeline of good candidates to last a while.

Thanks for posting this.

I agree 100% with what you write.

Johnson on the stage makes Ron Paul more stronger candidate in the debates!

Pizza Man Herman Cain

Herman Cain will get a front and center pulpit even though he has 0 experience in government as a representative. Gary Johnson use to be a governor!!!! obviously .............the GOP is a piece of SH@$

No he won't

They're putting him at the end. Ron Paul actually has darn close to front and center in this particular debate.
"Pizza Man" is good, "Fed patsy" is better.
