CNN: Twitter, Facebook Will Be Key In Tonight’s GOP Debate

The first GOP debate, tonight in New Hampshire, and Feist says social media will be part of the event, with huge screens in the debate hall displaying viewer’s tweets and Facebook comments–from suggested questions to observations on who’s answering (and who’s not) the questions. Some of that viewer feedback will be sent to moderator John King for inclusion into the live debate.

“The key here,” Feist says, “is that social media is providing us a feedback loop and a constant source of commentary about the debate.” (The hashtag is #cnndebate)

They will be streaming live tweets all throughout the debate and this could be a great opportunity to use us, being the savviest of Internet folk of any campaign, to sway opinion during the debate. I say we have coordinated tweets of questions that we formulate and comments throughout the debate.

For example, when Bachmann talks about the constitution, we all could tweet: "Voted for unPatriot Act, where's the constitutionality? #cnndebate" If we all do it at once, we could make the show easily.

Freedom is popular.

I say go ahead and use every tool available to get Ron in the White House. If a tool is available to us, it is available to them as well.

To those who disagree with this approach; maybe spend less time worrying what others do to promote liberty and focus on what you can do. It's the accumulative effort of all of us that will make it happen...

Please don't do anything that looks bad on us

Am I the only one who's worried about this backfiring?

First, CNN reads the Daily Paul.
Second, this seems rude.
Third, they're not going to ask Cain why he's a "Bankster".
Fourth, it just seems juvenile.
Fifth, ESPECIALLY you want to use black hat tools like a bunch of script kiddies? Really? Ron Paul is better than that.
Sixth, Ron Paul really is better than that.

If you want to do this as normal people, that's what it's for. Don't do stupid things like starting fake accounts and using hacker tools and proxies and crap. That makes us look bad and I don't want to be lumped in with a group who acts like this. It makes it hard to convince people that we're not dumb kids with no jobs and too much time on our hands.

1. CNN does not read the Daily Paul.
2. Why does it seem rude? I don't think our questions have to be rude. How is it rude to ask if the candidates would cite the constitutionality of the unPatriot Act?
3. Ok, I admit they aren't going to use the term "bankster," but they could ask him about him being a central banker which would bring that to light as he's been hiding it. (Like I said, that might not be the best example)
4. Why is it juvenile? We shouldn't ask questions that are in poor taste.
5. I don't think we should use scripting tools or stuff like that but people can do their own thing.
6. Ron Paul would want poignant questions directed at his foes.

The point is, I think there will be like 15 people tweeting this debate, and the Ron Paul community could really shift the focus to some questions that could stump Ron's opponents.

I like the idea, however my guess is they probably have a default filter that delete's any messages containing "Ron" "Paul" "Gary" "Johnson".

RP: "My first name is Ron and my last name is Paul"

SP: "Wow, you have two first names. Nobody is going to elect 'Ricky Bobby' for President."

RP: "Do you care about anything important?"

SP:"One time I killed a moose and took a picture with it."

I get what you're saying and

I get what you're saying and I think it would be better used to pose questions about the other candidates.

I don't think we should all tweet at the same time: "Ron Paul 2012!" They obviously won't use that, but we can all tweet: "Ask Herman Cain about being a central Bankster."

If we all did it at once, I think it could be very effective.

(I don't know if my example is the best but you get the idea) The point is, concentrated tweets, which no other candidate is proposing.
