CNN: Twitter, Facebook Will Be Key In Tonight’s GOP DebateSubmitted by wirebaugh on Mon, 06/13/2011 - 09:54
The first GOP debate, tonight in New Hampshire, and Feist says social media will be part of the event, with huge screens in the debate hall displaying viewer’s tweets and Facebook comments–from suggested questions to observations on who’s answering (and who’s not) the questions. Some of that viewer feedback will be sent to moderator John King for inclusion into the live debate.
“The key here,” Feist says, “is that social media is providing us a feedback loop and a constant source of commentary about the debate.” (The hashtag is #cnndebate)
They will be streaming live tweets all throughout the debate and this could be a great opportunity to use us, being the savviest of Internet folk of any campaign, to sway opinion during the debate. I say we have coordinated tweets of questions that we formulate and comments throughout the debate.
For example, when Bachmann talks about the constitution, we all could tweet: "Voted for unPatriot Act, where's the constitutionality? #cnndebate" If we all do it at once, we could make the show easily.
