Vote for Ron Paul in this fake poll!!! Hurry!! He's losing to attract more traffic from us!! (sarcasm)

Please please please please PLEASE do not waste your and everyone else's time on voting and sharing fake polls.

Examples of fake polls:

http://strawpolls.info/2012-gop-poll/

This URL was created June 7th
http://whois.domaintools.com/strawpolls.info
The first reported "poll" results, which came 29 hours after the URL was registered shows Mitt Romney with 7865.
http://www.dailypaul.com/167209/for-you-poll-lovers#comment-...
Yet, 153 hours later, right now, Mitt Romney only has 111 more votes with 7976. Statistically, that doesn't sound right.

Today there's another fake poll being spread around:

This URL was created 16 hours ago, and again we have the same situation.

Do you honestly believe after seeing polls on popular known sites, that Tim Pawlenty can get 1259 votes or Rick Santorum can get 1596 votes with in 16 hours???
NO. They didn't get that many votes in the recent National Review poll. How are they going to get more than twice as many votes on a website that's only been up for 16 hours???

ALL I'm asking, is that if you find a poll from an unknown site, please investigate the site a little bit. Find out if the only thing on the entire URL is the poll, like the two examples. Also, do a whois query at http://whois.domaintools.com
If it has only been up for a very short period of time, and there are well over 10,000 votes, it's fake.

The whole point of making these fake polls is to drive traffic from the losing contenders' supporters, us. And then the owners of the sites make money from advertisements. PLEASE do NOT waste everyone's time by spreading these FAKE POLLS. If you see one being spread, please comment and let the person know it's fake.

Also, if you find a poll, you can submit the original URL to http://rp12.us to get a shortened URL to make it easier to share with other people. If it's legit, I'll post it to http://rp12.us/polls

This is a great

This is a great idea!!!

Thanks! Now we can just go to one website and hit up any legit polls. Excellent idea!

What?

Voting takes 1 second whether the site is legit or not. Any poll with Ron Paul in first is a good sign in my opinion, and lets people know we mean business.

Ron Paul 2012

Whether it's legit or not?

Whether it's legit or not? First, it's not. Second, why waste your time with something that's not legit? Third, I spent my time investigating, and now spreading the message. Fourth, by going to their site, you are giving the owner more ad impressions. Fifth, don't waste the time of others voting and spreading the message, and commenting, and posting the poll results, etc.

I spent a lot of my time so I would save more time for everyone else. If you wanna waste your time, then waste your time. But please do not waste the time of others.

Thank you for writing this

Thank you for writing this up, and for researching the polls before you link to them from your site.

I also can't help but wonder if this is also a tactic to gather a list of IPs of known Ron Paul supporters. I can think of a few ways such a list would be useful to opposition with nefarious intent, but they're all a little too imaginative for me to think that they're realistic.

Freedom Wins!

Maybe it's some kind of a trap.

The link was broken just in case they are really trolling.

Good job investigating

Good job investigating this... It really is a genius way to drive traffic. You can probably get thousands of hits these days doing just this.

Yeah

I noticed those 2 bs polls are created by the same so called Josh guy with the same phone number and address. Of course they aren't taking calls at this time. Had a few choice words for the sellout behind it.

Bump

Thanks for investigating

Not sure I agree

Most polls are fake or at least biased.

The point is that the Establishment will have the MSM push any poll that shows the results they want - fake or not.

But you are right in that going and talking to real people and spreading the message in the real world is more important than anything we do online.

They won't push polls from an obscure website.

They will push their own polls, however.

I really don't understand why people freak out over some random poll in some obscure part of the internet on a site that looks like it was created yesterday and that no one actually visits.

Bump for the time I spent

Bump for the time I spent investigating, but especially for the time I will hopefully save all of you.
