Hard to believe this was only a month and a half ago

Ron Paul's message: no long faces.

Call CNN and ask

why did they cheat Paul in the poll? Why didn't they use their own poll?

404-827-1500

At the 19:50 mark...

I can't believe there were people in the audience, who were not clapping or standing when Ron said, get us out of the UN. Unbelievable... totally mindless neo-cons who will not even support US sovereignty.

How many people were in this

How many people were in this nation wide poll?
Let me guess 25 neocons.

FOX NEWS

Ron Paul wont make it very far unless he gets on Fox News (not Fox Business) more often. Those are the voters that matter to him most.

Ron Paul Speech (Replay) on C-Span Tonight 10:10pm Est.

Herman Caine will be speaking before Dr. Paul...

Audience reactions

I suspect that CSPAN may have used some very discriminatory filming of audience reactions to Paul's speech. Remember that Paul got votes from almost 50% of the attendees. Yet CSPAN's audience reaction shots commonly show a vast majority NOT applauding the major applause lines. Even when Paul attacks the Fed and its bailouts -- NOTHING. Is it just CSPAN bias? Or are there really a lot of everyday Republicans who outright HATE Ron Paul and won't even acknowledge points with which they agree? That would be very troubling.

Could someone who actually attended the conference tell us what the audience was REALLY like? Did CSPAN coverage paint a fair picture of the audience? Or not?

Setting the Record Straight

Hi, I see some videos coming up now where people are trying to spin this thing to seem as if Dr. Paul wasn't the hands down favorite.

Well, I am here to clear that right up.

I am a native of Louisiana, and have been waiting for Dr.Paul to come back here. My Dad would say that a team of wild horses couldn't have held me back from going!

I was unsurprised to see that my neighbors were also rallying to the Good Doctor's battle cry. Some people didn't even know about it, but heard while walking by that Dr. Paul was here, they wanted in too! LOL

This might as well have been an uncontested fight, because we rolled through em' beating them in both number & spirit.

You really should have seen them. This was a beautiful event, that I will remember for the rest of my life. I even got my 'Manifesto' signed, and got a picture with Doctor Liberty himself!

What I think happened with the poll result 'booing' is this,

Dr. Paul spoke on Friday at around 2:15pm. We all left after his speech, to go to the meet & greet, and I'll wager that when Dr. Paul left that Friday, so did we. I know I wasn't going back to hear those turkeys gobbling. They might as well have all been the same person.

Besides, by Friday night my vocal cords were so shredded that I couldn't have done any cheering anyway.

We won, they lost. This is a cycle that they're going to see repeating itself a LOT, so they might as well get used to it.

Dr. Ron Paul's time has indeed come!

I love this speech

(and the audience views). I've already watched it 2 1/2 times! :)

Same video as Friday's

Judging by the title of this thread, you'd think there was a new Saturday speech, but this video is the same speech from Friday. If there's a new one, where is the link?

“The most important element of a free society, where individual rights are held in the highest esteem, is the rejection of the initiation of violence.” Dr. Ron Paul

You are correct! In the last

You are correct! In the last campaign it was about spreading Ron Paul's name so that people would here of him and look in to him. He has popularity now. Now he needs appeal. It is much easier to win over the intellectual vote. Now he must win over the ignorant vote which is the majority of voters. And if the ignorant cant see you you can't win. Ron Paul 2012!

Those of us...

who understand and champion Dr.Paul are intellectual thinkers.
Ron Paul himself does not work on the emotions of people very well except through the minds of those who are intellectual.
We as Ron Paul supporters must do everything we can to capture the people who only understand ,or are convinced by, their emotions.
...things that are evident to everyday common people in their everyday common life!
Talking about the FED has no effect on those whose who spend their time watching Oprah, painting their nails, buying lottery tickets....

Can anyone else

smell the "brushfires"??? It smells like bbq'd neo-con...

"Truth is treason in the empire of lies"......

No I dont think he is a threat to us.

No. I dont think he is a threat to us, he will water down the establishment candidates but he is more of the status quo then what we are talking about.

lol
gotta love how he speaks!

Dr. Paul has got to tighten

Dr. Paul has got to tighten up. No more off the cuff speaking. He needs a well thought out, orderly speech, complete with concrete examples to illustrate his ideas. This campaign will not be won like this. I agreed with everything he said, but he is no longer just preaching to the choir.

It's not going to happen.

He only speaks with preparation in the House and recorded messages. I don't understand why he doesn't prepare for speeches. But nothing can be done about it. We went through this last Presidential election. Just accept it.

Dr. Paul doesn't think 9/11 was an inside job, isn't a Birther, supports intellectual property, doesn't believe in chemtrails, doesn't believe the Fema camp conspiracy theory, doesn't believe the Moon landing was faked, says Israel is a "close friend," su

I agree

I have similar thoughts about this speech. He talks in fits and starts and corrects himself mid-word. He said the year 1907 when he meant 2007. The ideas are near perfect, but the delivery is not. The time is right for Ron Paul, but he needs better delivery. He doesn't need to be Herman Cain preacher type, but he needs a clear and concise delivery. With that, the ideas can destroy flowery words. The off the cuff talk made it look like he hadn't practiced or had forgotten what he wanted to say.

Ron Paul wins RLC straw poll

NEW ORLEANS — As has become typical at GOP cattle calls, Ron Paul captured the presidential straw poll at the Republican Leadership Conference here, easily besting his nearest competitor, Jon Huntsman.

Paul won 612 votes to Huntsman's 382. Michele Bachmann came in third with 191 votes and Herman Cain finished behind her, taking 104 votes.

Paul was edged by one vote at this same event last year, but this straw poll success has become de rigeur at such gatherings. And, just as they have at recent CPACs, Paul's backers in the crowd here let out loud cheers when the results were announced from the stage while the regular Republicans in the audience booed the Libertarian-leaning Texas congressman's success.

The more notable result was Huntsman's second place. The former ambassador was slated to speak to the confab, but backed out, citing a cold. That the little-known and pragmatic Huntsman would finish between Paul and Bachmann — each of whom enjoy a passionate following among more ideological activists — is surprising.

Rumors circulated here that Huntsman campaign had paid for supporters to attend the conference and a spokesman for the candidate, Tim MIller, didn't deny that they had.

"Not commenting on internal strategy," said Miller, adding: "The result demonstrates that young conservatives are responding to his record of success in Utah, willingness to take the debt problem seriously, and foreign policy message,"

The GOP's effective frontrunner Mitt Romney narrowly defeated Paul here last year but got only 74 votes this time. Romney didn't show up this year. Neither did Tim Pawlenty, who won just 18 votes.
