Rasmussen: Bachmann second behind Mitt with 19%
Submitted by Allegory on Thu, 06/16/2011 - 10:20in
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney continues to lead the race for the Republican nomination, but Michele Bachmann has surged into second place following her Monday night entry into the campaign.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary Voters, taken following the candidates’ Monday night debate, shows Romney earning 33% support, with Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann a surprise second at 19%. Georgia businessman Herman Cain is in third place with 10% of the vote.

Got a poll in the mail from the RNC
Opened it up, voted for Ron Paul immediately, answered the questions, and mailed it back.
So if you get anything from the RNC, PAY ATTENTION, fill it out, and pray they don't fudge the numbers.
I love when some people say
I love when some people say that they mean NOTHING when we are behind in the poll, BUT when we are front they cheer and use the poll as proof that we are "Winning"...LOL
If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...
do you really love it?
btw RP never cheers about it
Yes, I find it hilarious and
Yes, I find it hilarious and I am IN LOVE with it..

Polls like these mean nothing.
It's only 2011 and there are multiple candidates. But most of all we don't elect presidents by popular vote. We elect by states.
Romney supporters largely live in states he can't carry in the general election. Can he carry Massachusetts? New York?
Who can carry the battleground states, especially those carried by Obama last time(Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana).
How about Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa?
Those who can't carry their home state, like Romney, Guiliani,Christie, are as worthless as teats on a boar hog.
The candidate situated to win is Perry. He has evangelical support, Tea Party support, and represents a successful state. IN THE LAST TEN YEARS TEXAS HAS CREATED MORE JOBS THAN THE OTHER 49 COMBINED>
I really don't think that
I really don't think that Sarah Palin will get into the race. Her role may be more that of kingmaker/queenmaker. At first, I think she'll probably endorse Bachmann but maybe we may even have a slight chance. Remember, Palin endorsed Rand last year, could you imagine if the 2 of them talked about endorsing Ron?
Watch for either Palin or Perry.
You should expect these two to be Dark Horse candidates, with much media ballyhoo for same.

C'mon guys, focus
Yes 7% sucks. But Ron is 7-12% solid. Rasmussen's last poll had Trump & Huck getting 34% collectively. Talk about fluid, this race hasn't even begun. With 10 candidates, 12% in Iowa, NH, SC could be damn good.
Speak for yourself.
The point is
that polls are used to CREATE public opinion, not report on it.
These polls can say anything you want them to say. They might be accurate, or they might not. The way the public is so confused and ignorant these days, it's hard to say.
So, since the polls can ask questions that are worded certain ways to get certain answers, and known groups polled to get certain responses, the agency gets the answers that are wanted by the people paying for the polls.
Then the polls are presented in the media to make people think who's "winning", and the people jump on the bandwagon because of their "lemming instinct".
Pay for some polls, and get whatever answers you want, and put it out into the media.
Just look at the effect it has, right here with this poll.
People are believing it. They think Romney is leading, and RP is a practically irrelevant 4th place. That's exactly what they want you to believe, and their ploy worked. It also worked on countless other people.
If you rely on media polls as an indicator
Than you are going to always be discouraged. What needs to happen are events that shows the grassroots is stronger than ever. Events like the Original Tea Party that were started by Ron Paul fellowers, a huge number day like 6 million, or other things that catch people's attention. It is up to Ron Paul supporters to make his message go mainstream.
Maybe we should
Conduct our own poll. Have you or do you know anyone who has participated in a Rasmussen poll??

WABC reported Willard at 43, Bachmann and RON PAUL at 11
This morning, WABC reported Willard at 43, Bachmann and RON PAUL at 11 percent, respectively. Their point was that Obama was at 49, beating Willard. But I was surprised to hear Dr. Paul mentioned in a breaking news headline.
"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"
It's about who wins the debates
At least in the publics eye. Herman Cain clearly won the first one, and Bachman clearly won the second one. If Paul hired Doug Wead than we may see a huge boost in the polls if it improves how he communicates his message during these debates. Rassmussen has been fairly accurate in the past, and I don't find this poll all that hard to believe. I knew Bachman would be a threat. She's a much better studied and eloquent version of Sarah Palin and holds SOME of Ron's talking points. But Ron needs to have a fantastic night to catch up and not just a good line or two during the debates.
Somebody in the Paul campaign better address these polls
They won't report on favorable Ron Paul polls, of which there are many. Then they create the flimsy CNN "insider" poll, which gets snifffed out pretty quick as being bogus, so they drop that and call up Rasmussen for a "credible" quick fix. When he delivers the "correct" polling data, it's off to press. Front page news! If the Ron Paul campaign can't address this effectively, they'll have him treading water real soon. It's a shame people are so gullible for these media punks.

Maybe this is where you need
Maybe this is where you need AJ or Celente exposing what is going on with these polls. I too would like to see Ron Paul step up to the plate with some teeth bared over deliberate misrepresentation of polling numbers.
I think it is over :(
I think it is over :(
It is sad enough that Herman Cain is exceeding over Paul. Ron Paul needs to take the gloves off and start going on the offensive on these candidates.
Oh PUllleeeeeaaaase!
We've got a long way to go baby! We are MILES ahead of where we were at this same time 4 years ago. Did you think it was going to be a cake walk? Did you think that the forces of evil that have been running this country for decades were just going to say..... "GOSH, I guess we've been wrong. GOSH guess we should take our ball and go home".?
Just keep a positive attitude and KEEP ON GOING. That's what RP has done for 30 YEARS. And it has ONLY been in the last 2 - 3 years that he has been able to feel PROGRESS.
(sigh) I think some of us here need to GET A GRIP! Not just you, GBL, but so many that are griping and complaining and second guessing and criticizing. JEEESH, come on!!!

Over??? A little early for
Over??? A little early for that.
Speak for yourself.
Ron Paul at 7%...this is bad
Ron Paul 7%...this is bad news
With all due respect and I
With all due respect and I apologize if I'm wrong but wasn't Rasmussen in attendance at the Bilderberger Conference in Switzerland?...and if so wouldn't that put his polls into direct conflict of interests to publish Ron Paul's enormously growing support into center stage thereby contradicting their aggressive promotion of their globalist candidate, Romney????
Enormously growing?
If you ask me most of the public wants someone that can defeat Obama. I can guarantee you Rasmussen is probably not lying on this poll. Not to sound predjudice or anything, but Herman Cain appeals to the party because he's black (there was an article by a tea party guy that nominating him would prove that the tea party isn't racist!). Michelle Bachmann appeals to the party because she's a she. The republican party members are looking a diverse looking candidate who is also eloquent in delivery...not another white guy who wants to actually educate you.
That's our disadvantage. Our advantage is Ron's message that knows no color lines or boundaries. He has to communicate his message. This is the only way we will win.
You brought up a good point
You brought up a good point about the tea party. However we all need to realize that the "Tea Party" does not represent the views of Ron Paul or real libertarian conservative values. Many of them, imo, are just neocons and religious fundies that jumped on the libertarian train.
They will use the polls to discredit Ron Paul
Notice how the media didn't report Ron Paul as winning "any" poll? We saw the results of several, even CNN's own website poll, and no mention in the news. Now comes Rasmussen, with their polling 1000 "likely GOP voters". I bet these people are banked in Rasmussen data base and used at will. Then this gets splashed up on the news everywhere. They will use the polls as a tool to get Dr. Paul buried, discredited again just like last election. If the Ron Paul campaign can't figure out how to counter attack these fraudulent polls, he's in deep trouble. They need some professional Public Relations people - and quick. Also, people like Stossel, Napolotino and whoever, need to be called on in a hurry to dish on these manipulative polls.

I agree...
I totally agree....Dr. Paul is getting ditched on all sides of the Media except the lovers of the Constitution!
