Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant (Omaha, NE) Suffers a Major Accident, News Blackout ordered

It definitely is a fact our Government is doing everything in their power to destroy the Country from top to bottom, forwards and backwards. This is awful news and not a peep about this in the state run news media anywhere. This is Treason at the Highest Level.

US orders news blackout over crippled Nebraska Nuclear Plant: report Submitted 1 day 9 hrs ago

A shocking report prepared by Russia’s Federal Atomic Energy Agency (FAAE) on information provided to them by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) states that the Obama regime has ordered a “total and complete” news blackout relating to any information regarding the near catastrophic meltdown of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant located in Nebraska.

According to this report, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant suffered a “catastrophic loss of cooling” to one of its idle spent fuel rod pools on 7 June after this plant was deluged with water caused by the historic flooding of the Missouri River which resulted in a fire causing the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) to issue a “no-fly ban” over the area.
Located about 20 minutes outside downtown Omaha, the largest city in Nebraska, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant is owned by Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) who on their website denies their plant is at a “Level 4” emergency by stating: “This terminology is not accurate, and is not how emergencies at nuclear power plants are classified.”

Russian atomic scientists in this FAAE report, however, say that this OPPD statement is an “outright falsehood” as all nuclear plants in the world operate under the guidelines of the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) which clearly states the “events” occurring at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant do, indeed, put it in the “Level 4” emergency category of an “accident with local consequences” thus making this one of the worst nuclear accidents in US history.

Though this report confirms independent readings in the United States of “negligible release of nuclear gasses” related to this accident it warns that by the Obama regimes censoring of this event for “political purposes” it risks a “serious blowback” from the American public should they gain knowledge of this being hidden from them.

Bad news tonight: Levees busting open/2nd nuke plant involved

Levees in northern Missouri breached
Water released from upstream dams floods a state park, farmland and homes. After a slight dip, the Missouri River begins to rise again.
June 20, 2011

Reporting from Kansas City, Mo.—
Several levees in northern Missouri were failing to hold back the surge of water being released from upstream dams, and officials and residents braced themselves Sunday for more breaches as the Missouri River dipped but then rose again.

A hole in the side of a Holt County levee continued to grow, deluging the state park and recreational area in Big Lake, a community of about 200 people located 78 miles north of Kansas City. The water — some from recent rain — started pouring over levees Saturday night and Sunday morning in Holt and Atchison counties, flooding farmland, homes and cabins.

In Nebraska, a flooding alert was issued for a second nuclear power plant, but officials said it was the least serious of four possible emergency declarations established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The public and workers are in no danger, officials said.

By every definition of that word. him and his lawyer wife have been doing this gig for years

Besides Arnie, the silence is deafening.

Perhaps Arnie is owned, but the others must also be bought and paid for.

meh

no reason to believe me, but this story is not credible.
I can believe that the FAA was notified about a 'no-fly zone' above Ft.Calhoun.
I can believe that they lost cooling to their spent fuel pool, but only for a few hours.
I can't believe a word of the rest of it.

http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/event-status/e...

As you may or may not recall, Ft. Calhoun was in the process of refueling its reactor when the waters began to come up.
If you clicky the linky, you will find that their spent fuel pool did indeed lose cooling for a time. But you will also note that the fuel pool's time to boil was ~88.3 hours. That means that with zero cooling, it would take >3 days for any of the water to begin to boil off (there would be nominal losses of fuel pool water inventory due to evaporation) - it would be another week or more without cooling of any kind for the fuel rods to be exposed creating a danger to the public.

No blackout ordered, because it wasn't 'needed'.

The only release of stuff I can find is their sh!t plant got flooded, and some turds floated off.

MEH

STFU

lol

Sure, I'll STFU - so you can continue with your role as Chicken Little.

I provided the evidence that there was no danger to anyone. In fact, if you look at the other "NUKE DISASTER" fear-thread, you will find the possible outcomes to Fort Calhoun due to flooding.

I don't care if you do not believe someone that works in the Nuclear Field and would instead believe anomymous Russians in a Pakistani 'news' article.

meh, indeed.

Wow. This is news.

Bad news. Important article. Thanks.

Parts 2 and 3 are in the video discription.

Soooo why didn't they build a

Soooo why didn't they build a flood wall around the nuclear plant?

SteveMT's picture

There is not enough concrete in the world to do this.

They should have done this with Fukushima also, but they did not. The cost would be prohibitive. It all sounds very simple, but.....

SANDBAGS!

All they had to do was build a wall of sandbag berms!
Sand ALWAYS keeps water out of thermonuclear facilities!
ESPECIALLY the facilities that reprocess spent fuel!

Those poor people in Fukushima Province didn't realize that, as the sea rose 78 feet above 'flood-stage', so they are paying the price! (So are WE!)

U-234 turns into U-235 (with a little 'heavy water'), and when we use it all up, we don't know what to do with it, as it turns into U-236 (DEPLETED URANIUM). It is a real BIT@H to store in the 'spent fuel pools', so why not find another use for it?
OH, WAIT! I GOT IT!
It has an atomic structure that is condusive to ARMOUR-PIERCING SHELL CASINGS!

WHOOPS.
A few water events, like the Missouri River rising, or the tsunami, are kind of BAD on the populace that happens to be nearby.

Oh, yeah...we can build 'sandbags' to defend these plants!

What do you think, 'BMT'?

Ummmm, they did

build a "flood wall" in the past little while.....

I assume we are being lied to but thus far there doesn't seem to be any evidence of the panicky reaction I have observed on the internet. And Mr Gunderson has a checkered record if one does a bit of research.

Something to consider: why is he apparently the anointed media expert on all things nuclear?

Because that would have been...

because that would have been a few thousand dollars taken out of the CEO's quarterly bonus. As my friend Mike Lawson would say,"He has a new boat to pay for".Priorities are important.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

It sure looks like the power

It sure looks like the power elites are doing everything it can to promote wind power turbines. Coal is banned Nuclear energy is having inordinate amount of mishaps. I sincerely believe the scum are making a run for it.

This is the year we must put our foot down

Dr. No! is even more relevant.

Please check out my article on the many ways people are already fighting the current power structure, if we want to expedite this movement all we need to do is participate: http://freeindependentsun.com/zen/2012-enlightenment-theory-...

We need the whole lot of criminals out of both private and public enterprise. Any way you can take the power back. Share how to with others until the entire rug is pulled underneath their feet (hopefully symbolized with a Ron Paul victory - and even a Green in Congress).

We need to let go of the details that we all argue with each other over and work together to get these criminals out of office. If this things turns out as bad as it looks like, we must not simply chalk it up to another failure. We must be passionate about stopping this type of garbage from happening. I'm all for free-market, but Nuclear is unsafe. The only practical purpose of the DOE is to regulate nuclear safety, if there was no nuclear there'd be no clear reason for the DOE. We have the technology to replace fossil fuel and nuclear energy (geothermal, solar, wind, tidal, etc.). I can live with some fish or birds getting caught in a turbine (and I was a Vegan for 10 years, so I have a soft spot for all life), but I'm over oil leaks and meltdowns. It is catastrophic.

But, on the bright side, I'm also confident in our intelligence to be able to solve these problems and clean up a lot of this mess with technology once we are free and strong and able to work on said projects.

Okay...Moving forward...

Jack Wagner

I don't think there's such thing as "free market" at ......

.......corporate level.

I like the term Alex Jones has been using as of late - "crony capitalism".

It always boils down to that.

I happen to believe the Amish are about the only ones living how we should...........and it's too bad I wasn't raised like that or can just all-of-a-sudden jump into that lifestyle. I have a mortgage I'm now upside-down in that the crony capitalists foisted upon me and my family.

I Thought Nuclear Energy Was Safe And "Green"

Perhaps it could be that green cloud rising from the melted reactor that they were referring to when they said it was green?

By the safe part I guess they meant it WAS safe until, well, the moment it was not safe!

A worker calls in on his day off...

"Hey Bud, has the reactor gone into a chain reaction yet?"
Bud "No still 'safe'".
"thank heavens, I really need to collect a few more paychecks to finish my house in Argentina before this baby melts down!".

How many lies and murders will they get away with before this insanity results in the masses waking up and just stringing these crooks up?

The longer they oppress us with lies, fraud, force the more likely that the cattle will pass a tipping point and wake up. Then they will stampeed the Plantation Owners to death.

Once awakened, no amount of reasoning with the pissed off cattle will stop their stampede to slaughter the Aristocracy.

Ever tip cattle while they are sleeping? Boy do they get pissed if they catch you!

A peaceful revolution becomes less likely with each additional crime against humanity that The Plantation owners commit.

How many babies have already died on the west coast from the Fukishima radiation?
How many will die from this new nuclear disaster?

How ironic that by altering the jet stream to protect the East Coast Elites from Fukishima fallout the Elites created a flood in Nebraska that created a new nuclear meltdown???

Unintended consequences are a bitch! Just imagine what will be the Unintended Consequences of covering up this Nuclear Disaster in the Heartland of America?

This unconscionable coverup SHOULD bring down the U.S. Government. I am starting to wonder just how sedated the sodium fluoride has made the American people, damm this stuff is a knockout drug.

When the cattle eventually wake up and stampede, I won't be the one stringing up The Plantation Owners, but I sure as HELL won't be the lawyer defending them at their common law trial either.

They had plenty of chances to do us right and always chose to do us one more wrong.

I say To HELL With THEM if they won't see that their time is running out and change their ways.

I guess tyrants will always remain tyrants to the bitter end and that is why tyrants meet a tyrants end!

History repeats.

No one has learned anything.

The Oracle

It's always the coverup that gets them, not the original

act.

This bafoon is lining up his ducks to see just which one (if not all) they impeach him over.

Other than being another example of government LIES, what can we do about it?
