Politics & Campaigns: Geeks vs. Wonks?

I've been involved with Ron's congressional campaigns for years and like many of you, have been working on his presidential bid since the minute news of his exploratory committee broke on lewrockwell.com. I have been thrilled to be part of the most creative, energetic and unique campaign in political history. I never ceased to be amazed at what the volunteers come up with.....be it use of technology, videos, songs, designs, fundraising, rallies and on and on. And all along there's been a very persistent, wide-spread perception that the "official campaign" isn't quite up to it.

So, yesterday I read this very thought-provoking article by Jeff Tucker entitled "A Political Theory of Geeks & Wonks":
In light of this, I started thinking about Ron's campaign and had a major "Ah Ha!". Please take a couple of minutes to read it and see what you think.

Bottom line: Ron is a geek and for the most part, we are geeks too.
Ron knows, without a doubt, who is responsible for his success. It is this huge group of self-motivated, tireless, intelligent and generous volunteers who will literally stop at nothing to get him elected President. I heard him say this again in his speech on Sunday at his birthday bash. He knows what's going on and we have his heartfelt thanks.

We're not just a group of volunteers working on a political campaign. We are a movement that is changing the US and the world. Indeed, I'll end with a quote from Ron on Sunday:

"Something has been unleashed and I don't think we'll be able to put it back in the bottle." Right again, Ron, right again..........

Peace, Freedom and Prosperity forever,

Can you help?

You are in his presidential campaign officially? Can you help me. I need all the names and addresses of all the republican and independant voters in the states of Iowa, NH, and SC. I am interested in organizing a massive RP POST CARD campain.

What a great project, Trey!

Trey, I remain an unrestrained geek volunteer. However, I can offer a few suggestions:
1) This is public info and as such you can obtain it from the Sec. of State. Costs and format will probably vary. I used to puchase a CD of the district (300K registered voters) for $25.
2) Are you a member of any of these states' yahoo groups? I own, moderate and/or participate in >75 RP yahoo groups and this kind of project might be adopted by others in those states. Go to:
www.groups.yahoo.com/group/IA4ronpaul (or any other state such as NH4...) and sign up. Try your idea on the groups, ask for help and see what happens.
3) Sign up for the ronpaulgrassrootsaction yahoo group in the same way. There are many hard-core activists there and you might inspire your project there.

I hope that helps. Thanks & Keep fighting!

The Wizard of OZ will be exposed very soon!

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.

Ron understands money, banking and the Fed

Better than anyone else in DC. He's been a proponent of sound money and an opponent of central banks all his life. He knows the evil and destruction caused by the Fed. We MUST get him elected!
