Wow! A Nice Ron Paul Interview @ TIME.com

I found this while doing the TIME Presidential bracket survey:

http://swampland.time.com/2011/06/20/qa-ron-paul/

Too bad they still confuse non-intervention with isolationism.

Just wow!

Did I just experience professional journalism here? And most of the comments were great, too...

O.P.O.G.G. - Fighting the attempted devolution of the rEVOLution
Ron Paul 2012...and beyond
BAN ELECTRONIC VOTING!!

Not that nice...

They called him an isolationist.

Yes, but the author

has returned and updated the article with a noted fix.

Loved this Q&A

You said recently that fellow Texan Rick Perry represented the “status quo.” Are there any competitors for the nomination who do not represent the status quo?

RP: "I think they all pretty much represent the status quo. How many others would bring the troops home? How many others want to audit the Fed – and get rid of the Fed someday? How many others want to repeal the Patriot Act? How many are saying the war on drugs is a total failure, a waste of money? So yes, they are the status quo, some more so than others."

This one response is WHY America needs Ron Paul. And this is the info that the MSM seeks to blur and cover up under distraction after distraction.

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

Perhaps some examples:

North Korea - Isolationist country

Future USA with Ron Paul as POTUS - Non-Interventionist country.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

Switzerland is the model

Switzerland - Non-interventionist country.
Sweden - Non-interventionist country.
New Zealand - Non-interventionist country.

"Know what you know, know what you don't know, and understand and appreciate the distinction."

Minarchism
track

The nice author changed it

Isolationism now has a strike through and a foot note:

Updated, 11:50 PM on June 20: As Paul’s supporters correctly (and quite angrily) note, “non-interventionism” is a more accurate description for Paul’s foreign policy that “isolationism.”

Why does

passionate writing equate to anger?

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

There probably was some anger

Us Paulites do sometimes get just a little sick of the same old misinformation about our guy, and give this guy credit that he actually CROSSED OUT the word "isolationist" in his text and made a CORRECTION!!! When was the last time you saw anybody do that? I can't recall ever seeing that happen. Because I believe that the "isolationist" label is a deliberate mischaractarization, and at least this guy had the integrity to recognize that when it was pointed out to him and make the change.

I saw it too

made my day.

When Ron is saying, "I'd do everything conceivable to trade with

[foreign countries], rather than intimidate them" when he becomes the president right during this interview, WHY can the reporter still characterize him as an isolationist!

No compromise, but "coalitions without sacrificing any principle": a great Ron Paul strategy to come together beyond party lines.

summjet, a lot of us would have missed this wonderful article. (We just don't visit there that often ;-) Many thanks for finding & sharing!

Just make sure you do not go

Just make sure you do not go on the Libertarian party on facebook because they do not look through party lines. I spent 2 days not even saying RP is the perfect Libertarian but that he is pushing people that way and that bashing him would be stupid. I eventually got blocked. They had a swat team of 6 that if anyone who supported RP they would just bash them.

Time's confusion is intentional

It's not by accident. Time, and most media, would just as soon divide the Republicans in order to ensure an Obama win.

How can they do this? By attempting to prop up candidates they think have no chance of winning.

Watch it backfire.

the comment thread is interesting too

.

The comments are even better...

I have never seen so many pro-liberty comments on any TIME articles. Very encouraging, especially this one...

"I am changing my voter registration from DEMOCRAT to REPUBLICAN to vote for Ron Paul in my State's GOP primary. It is a click of a mouse. I want to see a Ron Paul vs. Barack Obama debate."

Never read them, so went back

Never read them, so went back and did. Wow..u are right! Niiice.

brixeyb Who Are You?

This does not sound right to me. We LOVE Ron Paul. Our delegates always support him at conventions (through resolutions) and our officers officially invited him to run for the nomination, again, after he was shut out by the GOP.

You've been here 2 weeks.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Not as shabby as the usual

Not as shabby as the usual treatment.

At least they asked relevant

At least they asked relevant questions.

They certainly did! And,

They certainly did! And, lightly editing out all his "uh"s merely made it sound clearer and more Presidential. This is one interview that should be passed around. TY for posting.
