Ron Paul is 2nd with 12.4%!!

Ron Paul is 2nd with 12.4%!!

Here's what I don't

Here's what I don't understand... if you look at the detailed poll results, RP gets 12.4% with the field shown above... but only gets 6% when Perry and Huntsman are removed. Huh? It says 84 of the respondents would choose Ron Paul in the full field of candidates... but pull Perry and Huntsman out, and nearly half of those people abandon RP? That makes absolutely no sense.

"Dick" Morris has an apt first name

'nuff said.

"Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory." --- Sun Tzu, The Art of War.

RƎVO⅃UTION NOW!

I don't like Dick Morris either but...

I don't like Dick Morris either but I can tell you this, Hannity had Dick Morris on last night and they presented this poll and it makes RP look good.

Furthermore, right before this O'Reilly had one of his segments where he poses the question asking if someone is an idiot or whatever, and the video that he showed is on our front page that asks RP if he is a fringe candidate. If you have watched it, then you know his response. O'Reilly played the question and response and returned to the screen giving RP credit for the answer and complimented him.

These guys are coming around, and you can bet that as they do, so will our neighbors.

The other night I was over at my neighbors (someone that i have had candid debates with since the 2007 debates that really made RP look like an outsider). I asked him what he thought about the other candidates coming around to RPs position on the war and he said, "that's the only one!". I responded by saying, "No... it's not, did you notice how no one is laughing this time around when he talks about the economic crisis." My friend wasn't real pleased by this and continued with his typical, "He's crazy" speech.

My neighbor watches Hannity and O'Reilly. He likes Dick Morris. By Ron Paul being promoted in a positive light on these shows, the chances of his stock going up are as good as the chances that gold will continue to go up.

What we need to do is stop hating on the MSM and continue to promote RP instead. Don't waste your time hating these guys, they are only a couple of people, and as our influence continues to grow, they will be forced to recognize it. Their ratings, advertisements, and careers depend upon this.

So I conclude by saying, do not be in the faces of your friends, don't be negative about O'Reilly or Hannity, don't tell people that I told you so, but instead welcome them aboard with the same hope for freedom and restoration of the constitution that we all have here on this site, the dailypaul.

Change your attitude folks. As my grandma used to say, "You catch more bees with honey, than you do with vinegar."

When I talk to other Republicans about the candidates,

I do not immediately push Ron Paul. I listen to their opinions first. Then I say something complimentary about whoever they are mentioning (which is actually what I do believe), but then I point out the negatives that trouble me. For example, I say that I like Michelle Bachman's clear speaking style and tea party principles, but that I can't support her because she keeps voting for the Patriot Act (and I explain why it's bad). I point out something wrong about each candidate: Mitt's got Romneycare; Huntsman supports Cap and Trade; Cain has no political experience and is a former Federal Reserve banker, Santorum is too militant; Pawlenty is a dud, Perry supported forced HPV vaccinations; etc. Then I start talking up Ron Paul --how he is the defender of the Constitution, with a perfect record to support his principles over 20 years. The grass roots Republicans are actually getting sick of the wars! So that is working in our favor now. They are mad that Obama is expanding the wars as we are going broke. They are not quite ready to support Ron Paul yet. I admit to them that he's not perfect. They want someone who seems "charismatic". I ask them how's that working out? I think more people are waking up and gradually coming around. The soft sell seems to work. :)

Helps that your female to (generally seen as less threatening), but your correct, the soft sell is the BEST way to approach politically aware / rational people.

I usbasicallyly your exact same tactic, avoiding the "fan boyapproachch is key, but only after you havengageded the subject (person) in conversation which they have shown commitment to also (getting them to express personal opinion, or candidate choice is an example).

its also good that your mentioning a new separaterate weakness for each candidate (even though they share so many common ones) this heseparaterate each as being bad in their own way, not as a part of some blind "neoCon" label which bespeaks of little thought or analysis.

Put Dick Morris in the same boat with Dick Army

And then send that puppy out to sea without a sail.
Talk about some skewed polls...
More like skewered.
We have to all be pushing the CALLS FOR PAUL campaign right now to our group's.

Dick Morris

9/11 was an inside job .....time to get some answers..RP 2012

the world is watching

I'm from Europe, and can't vote, obviously. But let me tell you that there are a lot of people following the US elections with great interest. What happens in the US is important to the rest of the world.

I am a great Ron Paul fan - I wish I could vote for him. I have followed him closely for years, and read several of his books.

The world will be a much better place with Ron Paul at the helm of the US government and army. I wish you guys all the best and good luck in the elections.

Thank you so much for your encouraging post.

I really, really like this

I really, really like this poll, or at least it's results. For one, it's conducted by someone who "hates RP", so it's highly unlikely those 12% result from intentional manipulation.

Second, it put's RP neck to neck with Bachmann, making him much more credible as the "Tea Party Candidate."

And third, Romney is, at least in this poll, clearly within striking distance.

I would not be surprised if more Bachmann voters would swing Paul than Romney, should she eventually bow out. Same goes for Cain. As for Perry, who knows.

Newt and Pawlenty voters will probably swing Romney, but given their meager results, there is nothing in this poll that indicates Romney will gain vis-a-vis Paul from structural shifts as the field thins.

This is going to make it much harder to sell the "Paul is unelectable" story this time around. People sure seem to finally be coming out of their slumber, in larger and larger numbers.

Why is this POLL on the front page?

what is so significant about this poll that makes it more important than other polls?

You, Too, Can Be Polled

They just asked me who I would vote for if the options were between Obama and Ron Paul, and between Obama and each of the other dominant party candidates (I chose "other").

They even include "libertarian" as a political identity most of the time.

Harris Poll is another one doing online polling.

These polls take time and they want to know who you are so they can see who likes what or whom. Not all of them are political, either, but I always do them if I have time, because I want my opinion to be considered.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Ron Paul Holding Steady At 91,400,000 Google Hits

haha same....but why don't

haha same....but why don't they refer to him as the "perennial candidate"...they reserve that for RP

I think this is good, double

I think this is good, double digits and climbing...most MSM polls have him at 8-9 percent.

I don't think RP will ever lose votes, and can only get more votes from straw poll victories. It would be interesting to know if this was before or after the RLC straw poll. If RP is able to win Ames, his campaign could really snow ball. But RP needs your help, so make sure you signup at http://rp2012.org and make some calls to Iowa!!

I've said this before, the

I've said this before, the Paul campaign should spend some money and conduct their own poll. We know most, if not all, of the "scientific" polls are anything but.

"Likely GOP Voters"

Now, I wonder how they determine this criteria? Do you think they have a list of "shovel ready" GOP voters? These polls stink. Anybody can conduct a poll and get somewhat desired results.

If Ron Paul Wins, Morris May Wind Up On Heroin

Morris is a lying scumbag, that is for sure, but he may be doing Heroin before its all over..

Imagine, going from toe sucking to smoking hemp the size of a telephone pole..Ha!

This guy offers no

This guy offers no credibility. He went out of his way to exclude Ron Paul in his entire two faced commentary. He might as well spend his time playing "jacks" as give political scenarios.

Funny 'Cause Morris HATES Paul

He told me personally: "I hate Ron Paul". He cited the reasons as his unrealistic foreign policy and the fact that his [Morris'] brother died of a drug problem.

If only drugs were MORE illegal

Then his brother could be alive and well in a supermax.

I Believe Ron Paul Is Polling Much Higher..Its Gonna Be Great!!

If That Dummy Morris has Him At 12% Then You Can Bet He Is Polling Much Higher..

Ron Paul Is On His Way...WhoooooHoooo!!

will post on Twitter

Thanks.

Who cares about Dick?

I mean Dick Morris is as neo-con as they get. The guy is criminal.

I guess we should be impressed that Paul's percentage is anything above 0%, being that it's his poll.

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

I don't worry about Romney

He has the top spot only because there are so many in the field. But this is about as high as he will get for percentage. The people who support him are RINOs and they are a vanishing breed that will never support Paul. The concentration should be on the other 75% of people that are largely uncommitted to anyone yet. They just vote for the flavor of the week while sorting it out. As they learn about their new favorite they find things they don't like and move to the next one. It really is too early to give these polls much credibility.

This Doesn't Hold Any Water

With other polls showing Ron at 5% and 7%, I can hardly consider this poll valid. Seven hundred participants isn't credible either. What were their demographics? Won't be long before they're manipulating the polls for Perry as well. Sad.

"The true patriot is motivated by a sense of responsibility and out of self interest for himself, his family, and the future of his country to resist government abuse of power. He rejects the notion that patriotism means obedience to the state."RP

romney..bad choice ?? but why..

if romney is at the top why dont we discuss his policies so there can be a clear thought process as to how his policy wants are different than rons..where does romney differ..the fed issue is not on the table ..ron cant win on that alone .. what does romney favor that ron paul objects..foreign policy would be a good place to start.
