Tea Party Coalition endorses Congressman Dr. Ron Paul for President

Buffalo, New York, June 23, 2011. The Tea Party Coalition of Western New York endorsed Ron Paul for the Republican nomination for President today, becoming one of the first tea party groups in the nation to back a presidential candidate. Allen Coniglio, Chairman of the Coalition, said “Ron Paul inspired the tea party movement with his longstanding advocacy of constitutionally limited government, free markets and fiscal responsibility. We are calling on all tea party groups to unite behind Ron Paul. In addition to his adherence to tea party principles, he also has the best chance to beat Barack Obama according to a recent CNN poll (5/5/11).”
The Tea Party Coalition, which operates in several counties in Western New York including Erie, Niagara, Wyoming and Ontario, has existed since 2009 and has supported candidates for three straight years including two candidates who ran on the Tea Party line. Coniglio said, “The Coalition tends to back Republicans but we occasionally support an independent candidate against a RINO or liberal Republican.”
The Coalition also supports the Pork Lawsuit which seeks to ban billions of dollars of corporate subsidies in New York State. The case will be argued in the New York Court of Appeals on October 12th. Coalition board member Jim Ostrowski is the plaintiffs’ attorney. Ostrowski was also Ron Paul’s election lawyer in New York in 2007-8. A National Rally Against Corporate Welfare will be held on the Capitol steps before the oral argument.
Ostrowski pointed out that the New York primary will play a much larger role in the nomination process next year than it did four years ago. Four years ago, the GOP primary was winner take all. This time, delegates will be awarded based on how many votes the candidates receive in each congressional district.
Ron Paul represents the 14th district of Texas in the House of Representatives. He won his 12th term in Congress last year with 80% of the vote. He is an obstetrician by profession. He served in the Air Force and Air National Guard. He is the author of several books including Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom (2011), End The Fed (2009), and The Revolution: A Manifesto (2008), a bestseller. He refuses to register for a Congressional pension.
Dr. Paul is known for his opposition to bloated federal budgets, nation-building foreign wars, and the inflation of the money supply by the Federal Reserve and the business cycles this causes. He is also the Congress’s leading opponent of corporate subsidies, opposition to which sparked the Tea Party movement in early 2009.

I totally agree. NOW Is the time for us to gather momentum to support Ron Paul for President. I suggest everyone accross America form a local Tea Party, or have yours sign up and join the Tea Party Coalition of WNY. In turn where there are enough from your state, create a Tea Party Coalition representing your own state, let us take this national. And create a National Tea Party Coalition. Another great movement to restore our Constitutional rights for all Americans starts in New York State.

I remember that in 2007, NY had a very early deadline in order to change party registration. To win delegates in NY (and other closed primary states) We must reach out to all our supporters and get them registered before the deadline.

Parties are not obligated to count primary votes at all. It is their right to be free to choose someone who represents their values, rather than be bound by the votes of strangers in a publicly paid-for popularity poll. Only the GOP's own bylaws bind them to the primary results.
Under the Constitution, people have the right to "associate" and to speak, and courts have held that means people who don't belong to the group can't use force to make them choose a particular nominee.
The dominant parties, for the most part (varies by state), have chosen to bind themselves to the publicly funded popularity poll we call primaries.
The California LP delegates ignore the ballot results and choose our own candidates. Of coures, to join the LP, one must take the pledge, but to register as a libertarian for voting, the state doesn't require the pledge. As a small party, we don't want to allow unprincipled strangers to "take over."

Great news, I just saw the tea party coalition endorsed a presidential candidate! Big news, they are in 7 counties in western new york. I'll give you a hint, it's the only candidate that was against the patriot act, all of the bailouts and the unconstitutional wars...
The same candidate who never ever and I mean ever voted to raise taxes, doesn't participate in the congressional pension plan and returns the unused portion of his congressional budget every single year... The same person who accurately predicted the financial crisis and the reasons for it 10 years before it happened.
I think it's time you guys step up and join the r3VOLution.

Was just thinking about it yesterday... If someone trusted here would set up a website to pledge, we can all start adding the link to our signature lines, try making it go viral all over the 'net...
It should not be competing with moneybombs, maybe even cap a donation to something small, almost symbolic, but try to reach as many people as possible. Whenever someone not yet fully converted says on the public forum "I start to like this Paul guy", congratulate him in reply and kindly remind to put his $20 where his mouth is! ;)
If he said it, it means that right now he read something good about our Dr. and is an easy target to pledge. We can even have a little checkboxes "what made you feel this way: wars, drug war, FED audit, etc. ", so that we can see which positions to emphacise.
If 400,000 CFL members woulfd not pledge right away, I would be disappointed! Then, it's almost half a way to cool 1 million people, and their promise of $20M for Dr. Paul.
