Tea Party's Pick: Bachmann or Ron Paul?

By Doug Wead | NewsMax

No one can deny the nascent phenomenon of the liberty movement in America. It is riding a populist wave against government-insider deals that are making the rich richer and the poor poorer and sacrificing individual liberty in the process.

An interesting mix of Republicans and Democrats are involved in this uprising, blurring old labels like conservative and liberal, but the real showdown is happening in the race for the GOP nomination.

While all the candidates now pay homage to the movement, the real question is this: Who can best ride this wave? Michele Bachmann, a one-term congresswoman from Minnesota? Or Ron Paul, a 12-term congressman from Texas?

She was all about extending the patriot act…nuff said.

When DHS turns on the Tea Party she will be turning too… so no need to pretend she is anything else but a rotten human being who gave up her education at the expense of the people. She wants to glamorize politics and memorize quotes from Thomas Jefferson so she can extend her credit and keep her face intact.

The role of a farmer, in Fukuoka's mind, is an observer, not an intervener, of the natural order in his/her particular landscape. How is that any different than Hayek in regards to Economics?

Bachmann is NOT a Tea Party

Bachmann is NOT a Tea Party candidate. She is an Establishment Republican Neocon, just like John McCain. She has the same mentality. Continual undeclared wars, and the destruction of the Bill of Rights.

Bachmann is the new McCain.

I wonder

I wonder if it came down to Romney, Bachmann, and RP and Romney was in the lead, would Bachmann give her delegates to RP? Or vice-versa? Its obvious that Herman Cain isn't going to win, and I would be very surprised if he didn't give his delegates to Romney.

Love having Doug Wead on Ron's team!

Doug Wead is going to be an incredible asset to Ron's campaign reaching the conservative element of the party (track record going back not only to GW but Reagan as well). He has a very distinct and trusted voice within the evangelical community in particular -- another MAJOR point in Ron's favor given not all evangelicals necessarily love liberty's inclusion of "diversity."

This article is just the opening shot to what will be many more to come from a man whose "pen" is mightier than most others' "swords" ;-)

blog on Lew Rockwell reads

Bachmann's former congressional chief of staff condemns her as not ready for the presidency by a mile, and as a phony, a monster in private, a sweetheart in public. As Ron Paul's former chief of staff, let me add that he is so ready for any responsibility, including the highest, and that what you see is what you get: Ron is the same man behind the scenes as you see in public.

Less Cerebral?????!!!

Her critics describe her as a less cerebral version of Sarah Palin. Yep, your eyes are not deceiving you, and that means that with each success the media scrutiny or vetting will increase.

I'm not particularly a fan of either but people take Bachman as less cerebral than Palin? Wow, they really think she is dumb then.

excellent article

We are the ground game

Excellent article, I like the comparison with the Reagan 1980 campaign. The media did everything to discredit Reagan, just like they are doing with Ron Paul. It did not work then and it won't work now.

Consider the following. Ron Paul has money and a ground game. And he has both in spades. Having a ground game this early has not been seen since the Reagan campaign of 1980.

Excellent article.

Thanks for posting.

Bachmann 5/yr IRS Attorney ENFORCING tax collections on America

It's safe to say any candidate could do a better job than the hell we are being put through now. So I think many find anything different appealing.

The fact that Bachman represented the IRS as an attorney for 5 years is not an appetizing quality. After all, how could you have such strong anti-tax views after playing such an integral role in collecting taxes?

I would venture to guess she put many small companies out of business or burdened them to such a degree that they could not endure.

After all, the IRS considers those who do not pay taxes criminals and legal action is taken against them. Think of all the jobs that could have been created hadn't company owners been attacked and ransacked for tax payments?

Don't forget the IRS is militant and ruthless in collecting. She played a role in this regardless of what she says or does at this point. Her record wreaks of Fed.

Vote on voting track record, experience and understanding of our Constitutional and Federal obligations. Don't compromise or we're going to end up with another nonsense 4 years.

"From 1988 to 1993, Bachmann was a U.S. Treasury Department attorney in St. Paul, Minnesota, representing the IRS against people who underpaid or failed to pay their taxes [10]."

My thought for today.

Continue spreading the message of Americans. Not the message of profit-driven biased news agencies.

Ron Paul would never, ever pick someone like Michele Bachmann

as his running mate before first seriouly quizzing her about the key issues he believes in, such as getting rid of the creature from Jekyl Island; The Federal Reserve.

Perry, Palin, Bachmann, Caine, Romney, Gingrich, Pawlenty, Santorum, Jon Huntsman, Donald Chump.. all STATUS QUO

Gary Johnson, Rand Paul, Jesse Ventura, Barry Goldwater Jr.
Mike Lee, Walter Jones, oh, and the Judge Andrew Napoitano..Maybe even Peter Schiff, and Paul Craig Roberts..

Let's hope not.

There is no reason why any of his supporters should be willing to accept someone like her to be in a top executive position. After all of the hard work people have put into winning why would anyone want to fill up positions with liars and cronies? You should not become more like them in order to theoretically garner support of a few more people. It will be the other way around this time. No exceptions. There is way too much at stake. Even if we win the election that's really just preliminary to the real work ahead.

Who even wants to hear the sound of her voice? Bachmann and Palin both make me sick.

Out of the list above Gary Johnson, Jesse Ventura, and Peter Schiff would likely be my top choices. We'll see.

VP all the way!

Just keep her away from actual policy making power. Michelle will unite the typical GOP fence sitter and the rest of the Tea Party behind Ron if he picks her as a running mate. The liberals will fume with hate painting Obama as a divider. I think she could trounce Biden in debates. I prefer Judge Nap,though.

Bachmann...

ought to stick to pretzels. She's got 23 kids to feed where would she find the time to drive this Country into a deeper ditch than we're already in? Kids!!!! Lunch is ready!

9/11 was an inside job .....time to get some answers..RP 2012

i have listened...

to several shows that feature 'tea party' spokesmen... they were part of panels discussing the GOP field... and who the tea party can get behind...

on two shows that i actually listened to, two guys who were 'tea party' leaders or spokesmen never once mentioned ron paul in the discussion--- they spoke about palin-- and bachmann and cain--- but not one peep about ron paul...

this is how the big boys marginalize threats---

this is why we need to ATTACK!!!

no more defending ourselves---

we need to go on the OFFENSIVE

Bachmann absolutely

cannot cross the line over to progressive or dem. territory... for her it is an impasse...

"Sarah Bachmann."

"Sarah Bachmann."

She was an IRS tax attorney

the tea partiers do not know this. She went after some kid.

This was an excellent article.

This is a spreader, let it fly far and wide!

Viva La Doug Wead Preaching up the Good Dr. Paul Revolution!

Wrightstown, Brown County, Wisconsin

No one ever accused Neo Max

of being unbiased. But Wead IS part of the RP team right? I'm glad he said what he did, though. Too many conservatives are star struck with Bachmann.

Looks like we're going to see a lot more of Doug Wead

Real good, i hope he's a big figure in ron's campaign. Seems like he has the right approach to handling this situation with bachmann. in the end he'll need the tea party behind him to win.
