Ya know what I'm sick of?

I drive for a living, so I spend a lot of time in my car. The metro area I'm in (Birmingham, AL) has a pretty limited choice of radio stations, so instead of listening to music, I usually listen to conservative talk radio.

For over 4 years now I've been listening to people on these shows say things like, "If only there was someone good the true conservatives could vote for." or "Where is the Ronald Reagan-like candidate when we need them?" or "We just don't really have any good conservative candidates."

You know they have RP supporters calling them non-stop, every day. Seriously. I've even heard them say, "We get a lot of calls and emails from those crazy Ron Paul supporters. We have to weed through them some days just to get some decent calls on the air." I've even heard Michael Savage say, "Don't call me about marijuana or Ron Paul. I just don't want to talk about that today."

The conservative talk radio shows are censoring our message just as much, if not more, than the MSM on the idiot box. Rush, Savage, Beck, Schnitt, Hannity, Jason Lewis all these shows should be talking about RP... but they're not. These are HUGE audiences. We need to tap into this.

My question(s) is (are)...

#1. Why do they not give us the time of day? Are they owned by the same companies that own the rest of the media? (I already know the answer.)

#2. How do we tap into this form of media? (I already know the answer.)

We should call into these shows... every day... like I'm sure we already are... but...

We need to do it using stealth. We need to call up acting like we want to talk about one of the subjects they are discussing... usually one of the day's news stories... and then after we get on the air, move into the subject of Ron Paul.

And we need to ask them, "How come we have the most consistently conservative member of Congress running for the presidency, and yet you are always lamenting the fact that republicans don't have anybody good to vote for?" or "How come you claim you want people to vote for a conservative and yet you never mention Ron Paul's name on the air?"

We need to do whatever we can to break through and get on the air with our message. Heck, I bet if we concentrated our efforts on talk radio the way we do over the internet, we could dominate talk radio from now until the election... just like we do with the internet. We've got the internet locked up. We'll never get the tv goons to listen to us, but I bet we could OWN the radio. Imagine instead of hundreds of emails about RP, which they just delete... if almost EVERY caller on their radio show was a stealth Ron Paul supporter. I'll work on getting a list of their toll free phone numbers for us to call. I've already got some of them stored in my cell phone.

I agree and understand your

I agree and understand your post. I'm in sales and travel the SE every week and hear the same things you do. What the talk hosts have done is villanize Paul ... shooting the messenger. They do this because the know Paul has the record and the message Conservatives want to hear on the economy, but Bombing Millions of Brown People doesn't go with it. However, it does nothing to the fact that the game has changed. Now, the sound bite mentality (if we will use it) is on our side. Now, they have to go into looooong explanations of why it makes sense to have all these troops around the world. We don't. I like this a lot:

"The argument has come down to not one of success, but simply you're not Conservative if you're not willing to have troops in these countries for the next 50 years. Example. In 1941, we are completely unprepared for WW2. However, with millions of Nazi and Japanese troops opposing us, we defeated them in less than 4 years. Now, after 10 years we're still looking for about 100 of Bin Laden's closest friends."

You guys/gals are very astute and correct...

...when you talk about how to approach calling in to these shows. Confronting the host (up front) would not be a good idea.

I still think we should go beyond just talking about his policies... or just mentioning his name at the end.

The best way to do it, imho, would be...

1. Talk about policies that you know they'll agree with.
2. Get them agreeing with you. Get them on your side.
3. Then mention RP and say something like, "You know, Ron Paul has been saying this stuff for 35-40 years. Funny how even now that he's been proven right you media pundits call him crazy. You're no better than the so-called "main stream media" you rail against all the time. You also have an agenda. And it's not the truth."

Something to that effect. They need to be called out.

Hypocritical bastards.

Ron Paul Fact

Speaking of talk radio: Ron Paul once thought of untying the half of Rush Limbaughs brain that was tied behind his back, just to allow him to think, but decided against it. That would be an infringement of his individual right to be an idiot.

The best way...

The best way to get the message across to the listeners of these programs is NOT to attack the host or launch a sneak attack.

The listeners will feel you are attacking them if you attack the host and will always stand with the host in calling you just another Paulbot.

If you're talking and making points, just throw it in there that that's why you support Ron Paul, because he's the only one who's been consistent enough to actually do the things that you, the host, and all the listeners agree with.

The host probably will look to cut you off soon after that, but you've succeeded in getting the message out in a respectful manner, contradicting their stereotype of the rabid zombie Paul supporter.

I admire your fortitude

to listen to that drivel. Shame on them for painting such a picture...I hope with all my heart that people can see past it.

The best way to approach the tyrants on these stations is to

Call in and make a point, get them to agree with what you are saying, and then at the very end mention that "Ron Paul expresses the same opinion", and they are caught with their pants down. Calling and arguing with them gives them the upper hand as their drones that listen to them daily will most always side with them, but should you turn the table when discussing an issue, have them eating out of the palm of your hand (like the good petting zoo sheep they are), and then the very last thing say "strange that you agree 100% with Ron Paul, but yet you call him crazy"? This is the way to neutralize the spin, because they get their say after the call, but to make the point that what they believe in is the same as Dr. Paul, or when they are ranting about politicians in Washington promising to make necessary change, it is always fun to let them know your disgust as well, and then at the end tell them that is why you feel integrity and honesty in Washington is lacking, which is why you have decided to vote for Ron Paul in 2012. Allow them to lay the ground work and then slam dunk their own opinion back on them, it will make the audience think...

You are right-on!
What you probably already know is that Rush Limbaugh is king of talk show neocons. He is to be back on air today. It has been said he was at some meeting(in Colorado?) and when he's back on today, he'll be pushing the banking cartel's favorite, Rick Perry.

They filter out Ron Paul

Since they filter out Ron Paul, why not call in and talk about Ron Paul's ideas and positions? Ron said "nothing can stop an idea whose time has come" Mention the Federal Reserve, the debt, elimination of government departments, civil liberties, the constitution, sound money, competing currencies, industrial hemp, nation building, nonintervention as opposed to isolationism, We have the ammunition, it's the ideas and we are winning.

Great Post!

It's a small world, cause I'm a B'ham resident too, and I had to willfully stop listening to those guys on the radio about 8 months ago. I think you're right though: we need to be 'stealthy'.

What we need come on and talk about, though, are the issues. They complain about immigration? Talk about RP's system without saying his name. Economy getting worse? Bring up the many things wrong about the Fed and their policies. Rinse and repeat on many subjects.

When - not if - they agree with you, mention how Ron Paul has had these opinions for a long time, but they don't seem to give him any respect. If they get all upset, it will only be with themselves for agreeing when they thought they couldn't/wouldn't.

Just sayin.

Your post is actually

Your post is actually encouraging because it shows we are everywhere. I guess it is their worst nightmare that their listenership is actually made up of reasonable people who think like us and like Ron Paul! Imagine, they have to weed through the general population who all believe in Ron Paul to get to the fringe misfits that believe something else - that is great news! The more they fight it the more irrelevant they become. They cannot cling to their shows and careers if their target audience is only a few loose wingnuts who like the patriot act and think war is great for our nation. They must change and soon if they want to remain relevant.

I'm afraid their listenership is mostly made up of brainwashed idiots... just like the idiots who get all their news from the tv.

I think RP supporters are just that much more motivated to call in a try to make their point about their man since he's constantly being shunned. They don't want us on the air, and they get tired of dealing with us, so they just skip us and try and ignore us.

There are a lot more people on our side this time around though. I think after 10 years, people are starting to finally get tired of constant war.
