John Loeffler calls Ron Paul isolationist.

John Loeffler, the partner of Jim Puplava, called Ron Paul isolationist on the podcast last weekend. I learned about Ron Paul by listening to this program, so I was dismayed to hear that Jim didn't think Ron was electable enough to vote for this time around, although he didn't make any commitments ( I guess he felt he threw his vote away last election?). However, then John started talking about how, while Ron was good on the economy, he was bad on the oversees.

Happens around the 1hour and 28 minute mark of the 6-25-2011 broadcast. I'll transcribe it as best I can.

John: "His geopolitics tends to be much more isolationist and whereas I think his monetary policy is good, as far as international geopolitics, when you get a huge amount of your energy from offshore you don't have the luxury of being isolationist. So, I'm not sure whether that's realistic or not, you know, and that's probably a subject for another day."

Bleh. I'd agree with that last bit anyway. I am really dissapointed in John. He should know better. They talk all the time about a coming crisis. He should know that what's NOT realistic is to maintain the empire and the endless wars.

Oh right, it's called the Financial Sense Newshour.

The difference:

Isolationism - a foreign policy adopted by a nation in which the country refuses to enter into any alliances, foreign trade or economic commitments, or international agreements in hopes of focusing all of its resources into advancement within its own borders while remaining at peace with foreign countries by avoiding all entanglements of foreign agreements.

Non-interventionism – Political rulers should avoid entangling alliances with other nations and avoid all wars not related to direct territorial differences (self-defense).

Ron Paul - It is said that we non-interventionists are somehow “isolationists” because we don’t want to interfere in the affairs of foreign nations. But the real isolationists are those who demand that we isolate certain peoples overseas because we disagree with the policies of their leaders. The best way to avoid war, to promote American values, and to spread real freedom and liberty is to engage in trade and contacts with the rest of the world as broadly as possible. 30 July 2007

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

What Loeffler is dismayed

What Loeffler is dismayed about it seems, is that Ron Paul is NOT a globalist. Any candidate who does not fit the NWO stage is therefore an isolationist determined to protect US national sovereignty....rather than take marching orders from UN.

John Loeffler is a 40-year broadcast news veteran and host of the weekly news program Steel on Steel. http://www.steelonsteel.com Began in 1990, heard on the Information Radio Network. Steel on Steel deals with cutting-edge geopolitical, political or religious and cultural issues. John also co-hosts a weekly financial program, "The Financial Sense Newshour," with Jim Puplava. http://www.financialsense.com

Steel on Steel has always been a cutting edge news program highlighting trends that many called "impossible." The first program on "future" Islamic terrorism took place in 1995. "Usama bin Laden" was first mentioned in August of 1996 with the first program on potential weapons of mass destruction and biological warfare occurring in 1998. Steel on Steel accurately predicted the collapse of the Oslo Peace Accords and the re- emergence of an Intifada. In August of 2001 SOS did its last show on the "future" radical Islamic terrorism, which was validated a month later by the events of 9/11.

Seems to be in the wrong line of business by the looks of it.

The people that are still

The people that are still crying isolationist are seeming more and more stupid as time goes on. It is becoming quite amusing.

This whole idea that since we

This whole idea that since we get energy from the middle east we need to bomb them is fundamentally flawed. The Geopoliticing has nothing to do with getting oil from the ground to the consumers in the US, it has everything to do with who controls and profits from it. On one hand we could have iranians, for example, extract the oil and sell it to us, on the other we could bomb them, occupy them, and have multinational corporations control and profit from the oil. When you factor in the costs of the geopoliticing, it seems we would be best off just letting them control the natural resources from their land.
