Knowing exactly WHY the media are biased would make things a lot easier

But beyond people saying "the establishment is all in cahoots", I'm not really able to connect the dots. Can anybody explain it and provide evidence in a way that the average busy Joe might be able to quickly grasp. Because, I honestly don't see how the liberty movement can even happen without some magical event that triggers a massive nationwide (if not worldwide) epiphany in which suddenly everyone realizes, "Holy sh**! These smiley, pretty TV people really aren't on my side."

Simple: Big Corporate and Big Finance ARE the Government

Connecting the dots is easy. Its in the public record, right here on the internet.

1) Look at the names and corporation of origin of the top 20 people in all of the top federal regulatory agencies. Including (especially?) the Executive.

2) Look at the campaign contributions of most of the most powerful members of the federal government

3) When you read the name of a government "think tank" in an article, take a minute to look at the names and corporations on the board of directors.

You will see the same names coming up over and over again.

You see a direct match. This is our true government.

The old structure of the United States (3 Branches, Democratic Republic, Rule of Law), is now a false front.

Representatives of the largest multinational corporations and banks occupy the highest posts in *all* federal regulatory agencies in DC, including the Executive, and all the its agencies appointed by the president:

- Big Finance

- Big Military

- Big Energy

- Big Food

- Big Healthcare

- Big Education

- Big Telecomm / Big Media

The majority (has to be over 60-70%) of our Congress gives direct representation to the most powerful 'entities' in all of these industries.

Many of the most powerful individuals, thinktanks, and boards in each of these industries are more powerful than our representatives.

Many of them also have *no* loyalty to our country, its people, our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. Plenty of them are not even citizens of our country

Big Finance and Big Corporate (these people) literally write our law. When I say literally - I mean, they and their lobbyists draft (write) the law.

Step by step they are writing out our individual freedoms and right (under the true system) to participate in our own government and affect anything that happens there.

The evidence of this is right in front of everyone's face, but there is still a high percentage of people who still assume that 'things are basically normal' and believe that the old system is still in place.

But it's not. And Big Telecom and Big Media are huge a part of why this is so. They are not outside the system. They have a vital role - some would say the most vital.

Their main function now is *not* to give the public the truth. The main function of Big Telecom is to:

- Support this system, and

- Control the masses of people from catching on and rising against it.

The mission of Big Telecom is to Cover it up. Mis-direct. Distract. And brainwash you.

Again the evidence of this is so obvious, its right in everyone's face 24 hours a day.

(example): Casey Anthony. This non-consequential story - one that has no direct impact on anyone's life but Casey and her families ... dominates every major outlet and blacks out coverage of what is really going on.

And people now swallow that as 'normal'.

Ron Paul and the people who believe in and support him, is one of the only genuine threats to that system that exists on the planet.

If Dr Paul is elected - he will begin to immediately dismantle it. Big Corporate and Big Finance will lose their power.

This is why there is a concerted bias against him, and by extension .. us.

The media is opposed to freedom

and anything that empowers the average American!

they are pro corporate control over our lives!

It is just that simple.

I suggest that you take a

I suggest that you take a look at the membership of the Council on Foreign Relations and see how well connected these people are. What do you think people involved in politics, media, banking and finance, academia, industry and the military would have to talk about? It would seem that the name kind of gives it away. These folks are planning our foreign policy. And you thought that was done by those you elect!

Remember, until fairly recently most Americans had to rely on mainstream media to get their information. Today with the Internet, they are suddenly hearing different perspectives.

It shouldn't take too much intelligence to realize that our politicians are controlled by those special interests who subsidize their campaigns and give them retirement jobs as "consultants" and lobbyists. But why don't the media point this out? Why don't the media remind us that the Congress is legislating in areas that they have no authority? The most obvious reason is that those who control the editorial policy of major media outlets agree with this agenda.

Look, I don't buy the whole

I don't buy the whole EVIL CARTEL OOOOHH conspiracy.

The media is biased, because bias sells. Controversy sells. Simplicity sells.

In the 50s and 60s, companies running the news had the policy that NEWS was for NEWS...TV shows were for revenue. Anchors of integrity have been replaced by "pundits" with heavy politicals slants. That sells!

Why do you think Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly are so popular? Because of their attitude. They are egotistical arrogant idiots who shout and yell...people like that. That is the reason that the soft, quiet, experts have been labeled "elitist" because they actually study and read things.

Imagine, if you are Fox News:

1) Drama sells. People have their attention pulled twenty different ways. You need to have drama to sell a story and get people to watch. Facts? Who cares! Drama! And since people get most of their news from the internet, "analysis" is important. And that analysis must also be dramatic!

2) Cater to pepole's viewpoints. MSNBC has captured the liberals, Fox News has captured the conservatives. People who watch Fox don't want to hear about how some liberal did something good. They are naturally going to want to hear about how Democrats are bad, how Republicans are good, how their beliefs are "right". Fox News caters to this. Their better off saying evolution is fiction that admitting the FACT that it is true. People would rather hear fiction that they like than truth that hurts. TV stations cater to this. As free marketists like to say, the consumer is king.

3) Conventional wisdom. You don't get anywhere in your career questioning those in power. If a journalist is interviewing someone like Donald Rumsfeld, and asks him tough questions, Rumsfeld will never give him and interview again. And then everyone else won't want to give that person and interview because that interviewer is percieved as "too tough". Because all these news stations are competing with each other, the interviewed has his choice of which show to come on. The station must cater to his or her whims to get him to come.

4) This is more of a re-hash of 2), but never insult the viewer's sensibilities. Never even question the military, since most people find that extremeley offensive. Don't question Christianity; people find that offensive. Don't talk about Americans everyday willingfully support tyranny and opression in other nations with their dollar.

5) KISS. Keep it simple stupid. Americans are stupid, and the media caters to this. Catch phrases work:

"They hate us for our freedom!"

"Pick yourself up by your bootstraps"

"Death panels!"

"The Earth is melting!"

"Obama's a socialist marxist Kenyan!"

Don't explain things; don't get nuanced. Even though life is not simple. Life is not nuanced. People want to feel like they can understand what has happened easily. They don't like the truth if it is complicated.

The short answer is

The world is run by a very small elite who owns everything including media, governments, corporations and YOU.

Their goal is complete control of all resources in the world including YOU. They are constantly lying to us to reach their goal and the media , education, "experts" in every field and all other forms of (dis)information is being used to keep YOU enslaved.

Their end goal is a government for the entire world run by them that will hold the entire world population in slavery. They pretty much have that already although most people have no idea this is the case.

Waking up to these facts is not easy as we have been indoctrinated all our lives with disinformation that keeps this truth from us and we have been programmed to think it cannot be true. But the information is there to deprogram yourself if you are ready for the answer to your question.

If you are ready I can recommend watching as many of these films as needed: http://www.trueworldhistory.info/

True this

Although I have not looked at the link I can say this answer is about the most right on spot out of all answers here. You see the corporations desire to move into every country. It is quite simple get the folks to buy into "having to keep up with the neighbors." get everyone on the planet to have to buy there goods cars electric and so on. But a lot of people refuse to live that way the like there simple life and there are fighting to keep it.

they teach students in school

that it is because of money.
that it is an opportunity to be capitalists.

but that is short-sighted, to say the least.

it is about power.

controlling the masses is the media's #1 responsibility.

People are biased.

The media is looking out for their self interest. Many will choose the best horse in the race or cover who they believe is relevant. Some of us think of RP quite often but he is unfortunately not a winning horse in many a reporters eyes. It is our job and his to earn him that media. The establishment Republicans also act as a gatekeeper for the media and which candidates are relevant. The media will focus in on the most interesting people just like celebrities. How often for instance do you hear about relatively talented actors and actresses as opposed to wild and out of control nobody's in the news? Again we have to propel Paul's political capital.

Baised, not bias.

Bias is a noun meaning the state or quality of being biased. Biased means displaying bias.

it's been fixed!

Thank you

Thank You

This was good

I didn't plan on spending an hour watching a video this morning. Too many other things I should have been doing. This does a great job showing the back story behind key historical events and how the press exagerated or ignored the real evidence.

I'm reminded Allen Dullas bragging in the 1950's about how the CIA had operatives in every major media outlet in the country. This video reinforces the idea that controlling the mass message is easier and more extensive than we think.

the Media is a whore.

All of the lobbyists have a piece of the pie and have their hands on the major media networks. The Media is used to promote lobbyist interests. Weapons Industries, Pharmaceutical Industries, Private Prison industries....you name it ,they are involved in propping up their chosen candidates to win elections by ways of controlling public opinion and elections by mass influence. Weapons,Drugs, Private Prisons, and prohibition and perpetuating laws to increase incarcerations earns alot of money for the big fat cats who run this country. And those guys are in bed with the big bankers. It is a planned market....and only the planners make the money.

NBC is owned by General

NBC is owned by General Electric...GE makes coffee pots, dishwashers, and lots of BOMBS - GE is a Defense Contractor that does business with the US gov't, and then their own news networks tells us the, "news."

NBC News is essentially state run media.

CBS News is owned by Westinghouse.

In 1985 the Wall Street Journal ranked Westinghouse as the nation's 13th-largest defense contractor.

Conflict of interest?

The same companies responsible for building the planes, bombs and drones being used in the middle east - OWN the big news networks.

And FOX News owner Rupert Murdoch is just as guilty...he's getting married to NBC.

In a move intended to save money in the economically pressed business of local television news, two stations in Philadelphia owned by NBC and Fox are combining some of their video operations with a plan to provide the service to all the stations owned by each company.

Executives from NBC and Fox compared the arrangement, announced Thursday, to the pool coverage that news outlets use to report on certain events, or to what wire services provide to newspapers. --------

Ah yes, corporate consolidation of the news cycle....

Who owns CNN? or MSNBC? ABC?

Ron Paul did announce his 2012 election on ABC News' Good Morning America show....why did he choose ABC?

The link above shows the obvious...fewer MIC influences.

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

Zooamerica has it right...

Basically the media, ALMOST ALL OF IT, is owned by the same companies who make our bombs and such.

Once again, this is a failure of government. The government allowed the media to consolidate. It's been going on for years, but it's much worse today than it was when I was young back in the 70's. The media is supposed to be the 4th branch of government... a sort of watchdog on the other 3 branches. But alas, they have been bought off just like our politicians.

Which should be completely illegal

but it isn't unfortunately because the 1st amendment is given to corporations.

Very simple

The big media are all owned by corporations and people who make their enormous fortunes under the system as it is now.

"Fully half the quotations found on the internet are either mis-attributed, or outright fabrications." - Abraham Lincoln

Conspiracies are less likely. It is more likely simply a matter

of warped perspective.

Some of these jack holes might actually be well meaning individuals, but they are obviously paving a nice smooth road to hell with all those good intentions.

The problem is a matter of perspective. Theirs does not include any one but them.

It gets worse the more money is involved at an earlier age.

If you have an easy time of making money, or you are simply well connected and have no cause to worry about obtaining credit, then your perspective about money and what it takes others to obtain it, is WAY OFF.

Now imagine someone born so well off, that money is not even a thought or consideration. It doesn't even enter their minds. They just simply can always DO whatever it is they want to do. They cannot contemplate why others worry about money. (or the lack thereof) and thus they consider anyone less well off than themselves to be "bottom feeders" or "useless eaters" because all such people do (which is most of us) is focus our time on necessities and then a little lagniappe over that.

Ask yourself - if money were not even a thought - if it were completely irrelevant - would you take action to remake the world? Would you get together with your buddies just like you to make it happen? Would you care about how your policies affected others if you thought they would achieve your goals? (remember, this is if you NEVER EVER had to even THINK about money)

Of course, in such a situation, your perspective would be so warped and out of touch with how the rest of the world lives, that you would invariably advocate policies that are detrimental to most people.

It is all simply a matter of perspective, it doesn't have to be a conspiracy. But the result is still evil.

Keen insight

That perspective into the mindset of many raised in a fortuitous large abundance of cash flow is very keen insight. You explain the mindset well, and I think there is much truth in it.

Let it not be said that we did nothing.-Ron Paul
Stand up for what you believe in, even if you stand alone.-Sophia Magdalena Scholl

Just look into who owns our media

Some say it's a Zionist plot, as 4 out of the 5 media giants are owned by Jews. The only gentile is Rupert Murdoch, but he's big time pro-Israel. All of them, and most of their most popular newscasters are members of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Ron Paul wants to end all foreign aid, including to Israel, and he wants to radically shake up the status quo in our government. They demean him, marginalize him, and deny him airtime for that reason.

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign: that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. ~J. Swift

Rupert Murdoch has a Jewish mother.

Were he not a Catholic, he would be considered a Jew. That's not the problem. The problem is Zionism. The most heroic anti-Zionists are Jews because they receive so much ostracism in their own community. I really admire them and fear for their safety. The biggest monsters among the Zionists are largely gentile. People such as the Bush family, the Rockefellers, Dick Cheney, John Kerry, Joe Biden and virtually all the Republican establishment.

I read the Israeli media every day. There's a lot more truth coming out of the Israeli media than anything you'll find in our MSM.

Quote by David Rockefeller...

'We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine, and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."

Thanks for posting this--

I was looking for this quote by David Rockefeller to post to explain media bias.

Media Bias Questions

I agree, there's obviously bias, but I can't figure out the exact agenda or how it logistically works. Are they trying to setup Romney as the nominee because they want Obama and know Romney will lose? Or do they not care whether it's Romney or Obama?

What do the media corporations have to gain by who gets elected. It can't be them directly, it's only if they are trying to benefit the government or other big corporations. But anyways....when the AP writers release all these articles excluding Ron Paul's name, are there a few central people communicating to them exactly who they can and can't mention or what to emphasize? Hard to picture, but that seems to be the case.

The media is engaged

in big back door deals. These things provide access to all sorts of shadow levers, private information and dumptrucks of cash money. (and they complain about advertisers)

Their fear is losing that cash as more of us "outsiders" realize the game. Ron Paul is front and center de-legitimizing this Government - Corporate - Military trifecta racket.

Shining light on the shadows puts a heavy damper on the profitability and prospects of the shadow market while significantly upping their costs to do business.

Some of them have a social engineering agenda, but regardless nothing doesn't revolve around money, ever.
They couldn't care less who's in office so long as they get their fat paychecks tax free and no trubble.

Follow the money. Check who

Follow the money. Check who owns the media corporations.. Should be pretty obvious from there on.
