Obama administration declares open season on all medical marijuana dispensaries in new DOJ memo

Here is the latest on Obama's escalating war on medical cannabis and his ever-expanding list of broken campaign promises. From Reason.com:

Obama Administration Overrides 2009 Ogden Memo, Declares Open Season on Pot Shops in States Where Medical Marijuana Is Legal
Mike Riggs | June 30, 2011

The Department of Justice sent out a memo Wednesday instructing the head of the Drug Enforcement Administration and leading officials in the U.S. Attorneys Office to treat medical marijuana shops as top priorities for prosecutors and drug investigators.

For anyone that thought things were at least getting better on this issue under the Obama administration, note especially this interesting fact from the artice:

Yet the DEA's medical marijuana raids not only have continued but are more frequent under Obama than they were under George W. Bush. Americans for Safe Access (ASA), which argues that patients who can benefit from marijuana should be able to obtain it legally, counts well over 100 raids in the two years and four months since Obama's inauguration, compared to about 200 during Bush's eight years in office. "The Obama administration really is being more aggressive than the administration of his predecessor," says ASA spokesman Kris Hermes.

huh?

We are protecting marijuana fields over in Afghanistan (who are more than likely selling to Americans over here) while prosecuting Americans?

What the &%@#!?!?!?!?!

If 10% is good enough for God, why is Uncle Sam asking for 30%+?

Obama Has No Backbone

A real leader would be out front on this issue, but instead we have Obama. I give Dr. Paul a lot of credit for being more progressive (in a good way) than Obama on the marijuana issue.

The Constitution gives the federal government no authority to regulate drugs at all. *Only* the states and local governments can make laws restricting drugs. Early in the 20th century people still had enough respect for the Constitution to know that if they wanted to prohibit alcohol they had to pass a Constitutional amendment to make that possible. Now the feds just make any damn chemical they want illegal, including chemicals produced in your own body.

The basis for the kangaroo justice system you are seeing

Grand juries, elected sheriffs, private prosecution used to do the trick.

People elected their own sheriff and could recall them at any time. Now police are unelected, very likely not local half the time, and are essentially standing armies without being elected by the people.

The sheriff deputized people, formed posses when needed, and was responsible for calling together the grand jury. The grand jury was an independent body of citizens that investigated and indicted any government official. Grand juries have been a farce, are now controlled by DAs illegally, are not independent, do not do their own investigations and half the time not called by the sherieff. In many locations, they are trying to secretly phase out Grand Juries, reduce their number, reduce their power, etc. Without grand juries independent of the government, the government can't be peacefully curtailed. It's a farce designed to look like the American system has always been, but to be fake.

Private prosecution allows the victim to file charges himself before the grand jury and a DA can't stop it. The victim has the right to seek an indictment. The DA, a position that didn't even exist a 100-120 years ago, has corrupted both the grand jury system and the right of the people to file charges against anyone that might have harmed them.

That's the basis of the kangaroo justice system. They eliminated elected local peace officers, they subverted the grand jury as the independent body of investigative citizens called by the elected sheriff, and they prevented citizens from going to the grand jury directly to seek indictments and invented a new office called the DA that throws away charges.

So now you see everyday police beating people up than filing false charges against them to cover it up. The police chief can't be fired he isn't elected, the grand jury isn't formed by the sherieff properly and doesn't investigate. The victim can't go to the grand jury and seek an indictment to throw these people into jail. Meanwhile, the DA will throw away any complaints he recieves and attempt to get the police officers in front of the grand jury to help their coverup. The victim's family may file a *civil suit*, which will mysteriously become part of a plea agreement (throwing out a civil suit is a plea agreement?) ie blackmail and completely illegal, and it happens constantly. If the civil suit ever is complete, it is the tax - payers that will pay, the cops who belong in jail will never pay anything, and it will only be civil, they will never go to jail. It gets worse if you want to read the next message.

Kangaroo Courts Explanation #2

This is only a brief summary. I haven't mentioned how many rights and crimes this kangaroo system is violating, but mainly listed the three things any reasonable can see is a complete corruption of our actual system and what is causing the problems - the police chiefs ie sheriffs aren't elected like they have to be. The grand juries aren't being called by the sheriffs as a completely independent body of citizens, and people are being prevented from approaching the grand juries with complaints of crimes to investigate.

It's the basis for the whole corrupt system.

It's promising to get worse too. They are starting to try to push for the judges to be unelected too - they are already unelected at the federal level. Preventing people from what was called "reading" for the law - like Abraham Lincoln did it, keeping people from choosing their own lawyers freely, allowing only lawyers from the bar to practice law, and trying to prevent people from choosing judges that aren't bar judges also is corruption intended to create an elite legal monopoly. And it has since it was created in the late 1800s.

They are pretty much relying on the American people accepting the *appearance* of a system that is nothing like the real American one. So the more you research the above positions and pass along, the more it is going to help.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

This is what is going on because of the above

It's the same procedure happening everywhere. It isn't isolated cases. It shows the system is completely corrupt.

Exactly. I doubt very many know of this, and probably less had to read the Constitution in schools. These are the darkest times in America..
