CNN cancels Eliot Spitzer’s show! Bye Bye

I knew it was only a matter of time until that prostitute-buying loser lost his TV job... I couldn't stand watching him interview Ron Paul. Happy to see him lose his job.

Jack Cafferty is the only redeeming quality of CNN

The rest of them you can keep...or cancel...

Bye bye Spitzer!!!

He spun his way off the air.

Good riddance!

Good...one less snake

out in the mainstream media.

Couldn't stand the guy. Had zero redeeming qualities, IMHO.

"I Want To Let You Know That It's Over"

well......

"If you want to make this a personal issue"..

..I don't think you want me bringing up your past on this show". Epic when Rand Paul said that!

I thought he was fairly

I thought he was fairly decent. His interview with Ron Paul a few months ago he did a great job challening the Congressman's viewpoint...I thought that was one of the few debates Ron Paul got his lunch handed to him.

Agreed, Spitzer was Decent

Hi, Dr. NO, I don't know if you scrolled down a little. I made a few comments where I spoke well about Spitzer. I too thought he was decent. I think here in this post most of the commentators are being unfair to him or if not that then juvenile. And, yeah, Ron did get fed his lunch that day. Unlike most of the commentators whose opinions about Spitzer when he interviewed Ron, I think he did challenge Ron and was fair to him.

CNN made a poor decision. Spitzer presented himself clearly and respected his guests and when needed sparred them without rancor and name calling. He didn't quarrel but did debate.

For more good discussion, I believe you'd enjoy the following radio show, my favorite one, The Thomas Jefferson Hour at www.jeffersonhour.org. I don't agree with everything Mr. J's portrayer says and on his portrayal, but most of that program is mental floss. If you want to read about what I think about it, here's the link to my post on it written a few weeks ago: http://www.dailypaul.com/167702/a-radio-show-especially-for-...

That's great.....

now let's get rid of Schultz, Hannity, O'Rilley and Nancy Grace. I got rid of my cable, it's like being force fed castor oil. TV is nothing but MSM propaganda, instilling fear, worry and doubt into a populace having them believe that fire not only melts steel but it also has the ability to pulverize anything in it's path. These talking heads are pure poison for the soul. Wind em' up and tell em' what to say.

9/11 was an inside job .....time to get some answers..RP 2012

Best news today : )

oct2007,

Best news today!!! Ha,ha...thanks for posting. I hate that dirt bag. How can someone leave public office d/t involvement in prostitution and then get upgraded to his own show on CNN????? Blows my mind. What kind of message is CNN sending to everyone?

I hope I never have to see him on TV again.

I'm surprised....

that they're not replacing him with Anthony Weiner!

Or how about Anthony's

Or how about Anthony's Weiner? I'm sure "it" would be much smarter..

just as long as it isn't Spitzers weiner..

I remember reading somewhere that constant visitation with prostitutes is bad for the little fella. Must have been a pamphlet I ran across one day.

What have you been doing

What have you been doing hanging out in the free health clinics? Does your wife know about this apparent slleep disorder you have?

where else can you get multi colored condoms?

For free even...you know that the government pays for those condoms? AND they have a printing press I hear. :O)

probably even has one that

probably even has one that fits tree frogs.....sorry...just had to say it. Its been a GREAT day on the Daily Paul.

Good one!

Good one!

uh

they are replacing him with the aging host from cnbc--erin burnett, the know-nothing mouth posing as a qualified financial host at cnbc (what's a woman doing talking about finance in the first place j/k) but seriously, i don't know any woman that's known for being a genius investor/trader. maybe occasionally a ceo here or there when a company tries to go conservative and get stable performances. but trading?

not sure why one should be cheered over the other

I'm not up on shorthand slang

I hope the letters 'j/k' stand for 'joke'. Otherwise I'd be a bit disturbed by the sexism.

Just sayin.

I believe it means

"just kidding."

burnett sucks too.

burnett sucks too.

plly another fake money show to give ppl in financial trouble

lousy advices

CNN Cancels Spitzer, who Sought Answers to his Questions

The former show host's politics aside, he did a good job. He was articulate, observant and followed unanswered questions with questions worded slightly different to keep his interviewees honest, when the lazy interviewer moves along. His behavior could be seen in his latest interview with republican presidential candidate Herman Cain.

In a somewhat recent interview with Rand, Spitzer did what he had to -- repeated questions and even asked the senator to answer the questions -- because Rand continued to speak vaguely and even evaded a question or two of his, talking about a topic unrelated to the question, a big time offense.

From what I remember, it was near the end of that interview Spizter, after re-wording questions to get Rand to answer them clearly, asked Rand to just answer a question. Next Rand lost his compusure, recalling Spitzer's publicized personal incident, one irrelevant to the topic and uncouth to Spitzer and the (intelligent) viewer.

Rand has glaring faults in interviews. They are:

1) mouth movement during a question and an escalation of it just before he answers it -- because he's anxious
2) "the thing is"
3) tetering on loss of composure or loss of composure just before retaliating

Keep on going, Rand. Just review your interviews to improve your appearance and substance. Allow the interviewer to de-dress himself of his journalism credibility. Your dad does it very well.

How's it done? Simple: Keep your composure. If you're composed, your crediblity isn't kept -- it grows.

A Word on Retaliation

I misused it. I meant to say, Rand acts aggressively, almost vindictively. Retaliation is OK, because it's returning the "bad" a person did to you. Retaliation is a reaction. Sometimes it has to be done to rebuff and stop bullying then and later.

His politics aside

he was still horrible. He appeared to lack confidence and preparation. Came across as a neophyte. Not good TV.

Spitzer Exploration, Rebuttal

If you would, please talk about how he was horrible and a neophyte.
__________

Although I didn't watch Spitzer's show regularly, in each interview I saw he was prepared, preparation to not be confused with omniscience. If either the interviewer or the interviewee is to know the topic(s) at hand, it is the interviewee. The journalist is the jack of all trades in his field of reporting, talking about all things to the extent he can whose breadths usually are smaller than those of whom he interviews.

Spitzer was confident, also. Unlike most of his contemporaries on any other mainstream channel, he didn't express bravado, arrogance and then contempt, characteristics often mistaken as confidence. He was firm (not inflexible) and persistant despite and because of his guests' attempted evasions. Even there he wasn't crude, flippant, interupting or dismissive to them. As the Judge would say, "stated differently," he was well mannered and curteous.

He didn't pass over guests, where one guest among two or more guests receives fluff questions and few of them, making him look silly; I didn't see that behavior from Spitzer.

In that manner he reminds me of Dylan Ratigan. Both of them explain what they're doing and why. Ratigan did that a couple days ago when he interviewed four people, one of whom replied little compared to the other three guests. Spitzer and Ratigan want their messages clear.

When there are many people on television who fancy themselves journalists, it's a shame one of them whose behavior was contrary most everyone else's has his show cancelled. To add instult to injury, theirs roll on and distinction between the host of the cancelled show, which even exposed Fed practices, and the remaining ones is lost in a cacophony of ill placed applause.

Enemy of free market capitalism.

Good to see him go, again.

CNN is just propaganda

Turn off the TV.
