How to prepare to be a Ron Paul delegate

The Republican rules are different in each state & election laws are different, too. If you are in any way considering becoming a delegate to the Republican National Convention, where the nominee will be chosen, start saving NOW. There could be people among us who can pay your way, but who knows what will come up b/t now & then. We should have 5x as many delegates as we need, in case the rest back down/ back out b/c of whatever comes up. It is imperative that no matter what our plans are or how they change that we start saving including, reserving a motel/ hotel near the Convention site. You should also learn, to the extent you can, Roberts Rules of Order, which will probably be used to conduct your state convention, where the delegates are named/ elected.
Let's not be caught off guard about this. Those who want to do this who are in the position to do this, start preparing so there won't be any problems. Of course you have to figure out what you can do without in your life, you must figure out what the cost of liberty is.
Psss those of you in states where theres no sales tax, please consider saving the amount the rest of us spend on it, at least 4%, for this cause. If you start saving now, maybe the interest will make up the difference. Do you have enough in savings so you can simply put a huge amount into a CD & the interest will pay for the trip? Going to the National Convention as a delegate is not a campaign expense, but a personal expense. So, it does not count as a donation & you can still contribute to the campaign as much as you can. Keep in mind, delegates need to speak up & not be shy about the way they feel at the Convention, nor can they be easily intimidated, not that RP supporters are like that. You must be honest & make an assessment at the state level about who is best suited to go. Having the right delegates makes all the difference. If you must be elected to be a delegate, it is just as impt. to get your RP literature out as it is to get delegate literature out, if your election is at the ballot box. Its not easy to get elected at the state convention either, you might have to have t-shirts, stickers, literature made for that.

There is a lot of knowledge to be gained by talking to the people who were delegates the last primary and caucus even if they were for McCain because they can be for Dr.Paul this time. That is why it is important to reach out to the party leadership and be genuine about the constitution. They love volunteers!

A reminder: RP Delegates must be wise as serpents amongst wolves

This just in: The self-described Constitutionally conservative Daily Newscaster web site ([link edited for length]) is reporting that today, September 5th, while Ron Paul delegates were taking a picture in front of the model White House inside the Convention Center at the Republican Convention they were basically surrounded and harassed by the Secret Service.

Their crime?

Apparently just supporting Ron Paul and/or having information related to that Republican congressman.

"Give a man a gun, and he could rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he could rob the world."

Many Meetups are organizing this now.

They are going over the criteria that has to be met according to each state's GOP.

Thanks for the post

it was helpful. :)
