"Dinner and a Grope Show:" An Afternoon at JFK Airport

If you'd ever like to have a close up look at the TSA's activities, I strongly recommend New York's JFK Airport, Terminal 1.

I was there yesterday and, while passing time, sauntered up to the mezzanine where one may find the food court. The interesting thing is, the food court has an enormous hole in the middle of the floor, ringed by tables and chairs, and this looks down on security and the gate access area.

So, we got some McDonald's for lunch and sat just above where the "TSA molestion stations" were positioned.

For the next hour or so, I bore witness to the methods and activities of our "heroes in blue" as they systematically violated the civil rights of dozens of innocent people -- none of whom ever deigned to look upward and notice scads of customers chewing on fries and burgers while observing them being molested.

Just as shocking videos posted here show, I witnessed two cases of elderly women in wheelchairs being groped. One was made to stand, wobbly as can be, while gloved hands circled both breasts. Another was too immobile to stand, but she was made to lean forward and back, and side to side, so hands could slip beneath each buttock.

Perhaps the most outrageous scene involved the little five year old girl, whose even smaller sister afterward aped the TSA agent by groping her sibling in the same manner. This made everyone laugh -- frankly, I was too appalled to share their chuckles.

These stories are nothing new, of course.

But I must admit, what surprised me about the TSA molestation station was the utterly pathetic inconsistencies in the method, manner, behavior, demeanor, and professionalism of the agents.

In the hour I observed these crimes taking place, it became patently clear that this system is utterly incapable of providing security in any way.

First off, the victims were selected quite randomly -- or should I say, diversely.

Next, Gropings were not continuous. There were stretches of "stand down time" where the heroes in blue twiddled their thumbs and chatted while hordes of passengers filed past, thankfully undisturbed.

All of the sudden, every molestation station would have a victim spread-eagled on wide-stance footprints, with the heroes in blue frantically committing crimes.

And then, it would be right back to peace and quiet, with highly compensated TSA Agents doing nothing to earn their ill-gotten paycheck.

In fact, there were many TSA gropers on the mezzanine, reading newspapers or sleeping at a table with their heads in their arms, just across from me. (Molesting children and elderly women must be exhausting work.)

There were broad inconsistencies in the duration of the crimes being committed. Some victims were only lightly molested, while others were forced to stand with their legs spread apart on the TSA footprints for up to 10 minutes, while the agents moved off to one side, filling out paperwork, or rummaging through their belongings.

One lady was geting tired, and stepped off the foot prints, but the agent ordered her back while he opened her wallet and removed all her cards and papers. He flexed each card and carefully read handwritten scribbles on some of her papers. He also flipped open her phone, turned it on, and was touching buttons, perhaps hoping he could get her phone number.

Others were molested for a few seconds, or (to my surprise) not molested at all. Some Arabs bound for Riyadh in full garb suffered only having hands drawn around their headdresses, while a fellow in a tight t-shirt merely had his tight pecs felt up by an Agent -- just to make sure those muscles bulging through his thin shirt weren't a muscle-shaped bomb, of course.

Perhaps the worst part of the crime scene was the inconsistency in the training and behavior of the Agents themselves.

To his credit, one particular Agent was good, and I paid close attention to him.

He was an Asian man. He welcomed the passenger. He carefully explained the procedure. He undertook the examination with light touches and explaining what he would do next. He did not grab or even touch the crotch but circled low around the thigh, as well as the waist band. Finally, he changed his gloves after each procedure, and swabbed his hands with a towelette.

It was still invasive and beyond the pale of decency, but he was professional, highly trained, and, if I had to be a victim of the TSA, I'd rather have that man do it.

By contrast, the SS-Hauptsturmfuehrer next to him -- a bald, sweating nazi of large proportions -- gleefully cupped men's privates, ran his hand sideways into places forbidden, and never ONCE changed his gloves. I could see the beads of sweat on his head as he worked his victims over, and he had to step aside to rest after finishing each crime.

I reckon he's the sort of man who, if ordered by his superiors, would not hesitate to use rifle butts to force victims to dig their own graves before gunning them down. And he's pretty much the typical type of TSA agent I observed during my hour at JFK Terminal 1: dim and reckless.

Clearly, the system is horribly incapable of spotting terrorists. Most passengers are thankfully waived through, and those who are selected for criminal abuse are done so for political correctness rather than for any palpable reason.

Finally, the agents run the gamut of highly trained professionals to sloppy morons who are on the road to being future Ivan the Terribles at New Treblinka, New York.

You know, as I saw my friends pass through unmolested and got up to leave, I really could not understand the ultimate purpose of all this.

A floor show to make passengers think they're safe?

An Obama job creation program?

A Michael Chertoff profiteering scheme?

An oppressive police-state training ground for future mass executioners?

Or just the "smartest guys in the room" over at DHS thinking up supersmart scenarios that will NEVER be played out, and then just letting the typically incompetent and wasteful bureaucracy deal with their fantasies?

UPDATE: The mezzanine viewing booth of TSA porn is walled over

UPDATE: The mezzanine viewing booth of TSA porn is walled over. I was at Terminal 1 the other day and noticed some construction. Went up to the food court and lo! The wide floor opening that allows customers to gaze upon TSA groping sessions has been enclosed with a high wall. No doubt they are installing a floor and will have more table space.

Shortly after I posted this in 2011, the airport gradually made changes around there. The revolting artwork that was slung over the viewing space was moved to hang above the security lines in front of the food court, heralding the change. And now its happened.

Perhaps too many people were losing their lunch over the grotesque atrocities being committed against innocent people, and raining vomit down upon the SS-kapos below? Who knows...

(I wish TSA agent Kimberley S. of the Denver Airport experienced that!)

Posted on Facebook. This stuff really upsets me. I just can't go there or I will have a total meltdown.

but just how effective are these checkpoints...

How many would-be terrorists armed with a device has the TSA actually foiled? Does anyone know?

If a determined terrorist were to just sit in the food court for an hour and observe the grope stations, then he could probably come up with a dozen ways to sneak a device through. Just observe the gropers for when they're idle and when in full grope... who are thorough and who aren't... People are creatures of habit.

And it also seems to me that the checkpoint itself is a far better target than a plane anyway. Not only are a lot of people packed into a small area waiting in line, but the device could be a *lot* bigger than one smuggled onto a plane and it would be far more disruptive since the entire airport would likely shutdown with all flights cancelled. Why take a risk of capture targeting a plane?

How effective are these checkpoints?

"How many would-be terrorists armed with a device has the TSA actually foiled? Does anyone know?" The TSA has stopped, captured, deterred, or prevented absolutely zero would-be terrorists. TSA officials know this, but are not reporting it because then they might have to explain the real reason for the radiation scans and sexual-molestations performed on American citizens, who clearly are not terrorist threats. In fact, every would-be terrorist boarding or attempting to board an airplane apprehended since 9/11 were not detected by TSA, but were actually apprehended by passengers after boarding the planes.

In addition, I agree with you about the checkpoints being far better targets for terrorist attacks, and I would add that airports themselves are also very vulnerable targets for terrorist attacks. The idea that TSA can protect us from terrorist attacks is totally ludicrous. The real purpose for the radiation scans and body-gropings is to present the illusion of being protected, while at the same time condition us for the police state that's coming.

These checkpoints

are not effective against anything but destroying our civil rights. Just trained robots molesting innocent people because you know 911 the show that they put on and are now going to protect us from. Domestic Terror, do you want fries with that? Aren't there real problems that this money could be used for instead of abusing everyone and creating a state of fear?? How dare these criminals point to 911 as an excuse for their continued criminal behavior.

Good one!

That's the whole point: the system is abusive and cannot work

Well, that's the whole point: the system is abusive and cannot work.

Oddly enough, the TSA was groping the most people when there were fewest on line. Whenever there was a surge in waiting passengers, the groping was often put on hold because so many people were overflowing into their zone, trying to get their gear sorted out, and some TSA Agents would help out that the metal detectors -- though most would just chew gum with their arms folded.

JFK Terminal 3 (Delta) is even better. Its extremely tight in there. No space for anything. Passengers often have to squeeze past victims being groped, ducking to avoid outstretched arms and spread-eagle foot stances!

Excellent independent reporting.

When the paid media begin having articles like this, we'll see some fast progress. Why not submit it to some of your favorite publications, newspapers, etc? It is deserves a wide audience.

If TSA Touches My Kids They Are Getting Laid Out

There is ZERO reason for anyone to put their hands on kids ever. Like I said, if one of those pricks ever attempts anything on my family odds are I will get tazed, locked up or worse.

I will however happily do it all over the again IF it can keep my kids from being violated. Who is worried about "kid bombers" in our country?

Are we really that sad of a nation to be THAT CLUELESS?

didn't they just pass

a male groping law in NY.?

If governments did not exist,

what would the terrorists do?

You know

that the hole will be opaque by tomorrow.

I had the impression the airport thought it was a good idea

I had the impression the airport thought it was a good idea to situate their molestation stations there. Its a light, airy space, rather enjoyable for both passengers and customers -- when they're not being physically abused, of course.

And public access might be a good way to show how much the T.SS.A. "cares" about our security.

Nice account - thank you for posting.

Interesting and very well written.

And then, what do we do about it? I've been thinking about it for some time....

At some point, the balance of power will shift, but at the moment, they've got the power. Dissent is not an option. The TSA is as monolithic and immovable as the Berlin Wall once was. Impenetrable.

But slowly, the sands of time wear it down. Little by little we chip away at it. Eventually the balance shifts.

Your account helps to shift the tide, but I fear the turning may be a long time in coming.

He's the man.

"Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them." - Frederick Douglass

We have been duped as a nation into believing that slavery was and is a racial thing; when we have abundant examples from around the world, and throughout history, that the only elements necessary for slavery to exist are for bullies to assume more power than they deserve, surrounding themselves with others who are willing to support them taking it and keeping it, over an even "lower-class" than themselves.

I agree that this thread was very well written, Michael, but I can't buy into your perception of the TSA as impenetrable and immovable, without feeling that such a view would both hinder our individual and collective consciousness of who we are as heirs of our Creator; while giving them far greater power in our own minds, than they actually posses.

Douglass had a lot of very relevant insights into the state we are in today. Here's a link to a thread I posted two years ago here:

"what do we do about

"what do we do about it?"

Take it to the courts and sue them.

That food court may be a great vantage point for recording visual evidence while friends/family pass through ... in case those friends/family need video to support the police report they should complete after being molested.

Each one

of these "people" live in neighborhoods just like ours, in the vicinity of the airports, and might even be your neighbors.
It might pay to know if any of these Nazi prison guards happen to live in your area, and where.
Just remember, they will be more than happy to kill you, do violence to you, or incarcerate you against your will when they are told to, so know your enemy.

Anonymous

It would be great if Anonymous or Lulzsec broke into the TSA employee database and posted their addresses online. See how many of them quit their jobs when unfortunate events follow.

Knowing in what hole the nazis dwell is rather important

Knowing in what hole the nazis dwell is rather important. Simon Wiesenthal certainly thought so.

As we walked around the Terminal, I examined the "heroes in blue" closely. One of them even shot an angry glance at me because I was focusing in on his ID badge.

The Agent's name is small but visible. If I am to be molested when I have to fly next month, I intend to look at the agent's name and repeat it out loud for him to hear.

If he demands to know why I need his name, I will simply explain that, if I feel my human and civil rights are being violated during the procedure, I will add his name as a defendant in a class-action suit against the TSA. (I have an excellent memory.)

I may be asking for trouble by telling him this, but its another way to resist an as-yet irresistible system of abuse.
