Oppose Robert Mueller’s Confirmation As FBI Head

Dear Liberty Lover
Over the past ten years, FBI Director Robert Mueller has overseen extensive privacy violations and abuses of constitutional rights. Yet, even though the FBI has never addressed these ongoing and expanding problems, President Obama has asked Congress to extend the director’s term for the first time since the COINTELPRO era, when Director J. Edgar Hoover used the FBI’s power to spy on Martin Luther King Jr. and others whose politics he didn’t like. And Congress seems ready to do as the president has asked.
The Bill of Rights Defense Committee, along with a coalition of more than 30 allied organizations from across the political spectrum, is calling on members of Congress to vote against the extension of Mueller’s term and finally conduct long overdue oversight to restore constitutional rights. Will you join us?

Undoing the POST-HOOVER protections
What the president is trying to do, is to remove the protections (term limits) put in place following the death of J. Edgar Hoover, who had basically blackmailed every powerful person that mattered to him in America, for decades of our history, by collecting masses of private or embarrassing information about the intricacies of their lives. In the nations reaction to the revelations of massive FBI abuse from its very inception, and by its very founding head, lawmakers had wanted to purposely limit this potential despotic power with term limits. The reason Hoover kept getting reinstalled, was to cover things up, and I believe there is PROBABLY a lot of cover up going on right now, as well, given the many flagrant FBI violations following 911, of which I'm sure American citizens have only seen the proverbial 'tip of the iceberg.' Other nations, too, have an interest in keeping details of OUR dirty laundry buried, since they ALSO violated their citizens same as we did. And none of these big government abusers want the real nature of their abuses revealed along with ours, and hence there has been no REAL investigation, and the president wants to retain the same leader in place.
