WSJ Article about Ron Paul

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405270230340610457644...

There's a misleading article about Dr. Paul on the Wall Street Journal. While it carries some accurate info, it's plagued by incorrect attacks. Claims such as "As a candidate, Mr. Paul is most likely finished..." and "[his solutions include] eliminating the Fed, public schools, a strong military and entitlements..." will surely turn off casual voters who read the article. So far most of the comments have been Pro-Paul, but it's still sad (not out of the ordinary) to see these sort of mixed-message pieces passing for honest journalism these days. Let's gear up and dig in, this one's gonna be quite the fight!

The author at least made Ron Paul one year younger...74

In other words, he couldn't even get his age correct.

Pretty miserable story.

HELLO, ANYONE THINKING?!

Can we please stop promoting their propaganda attacks against Ron by using the same fking words in the fking titles of our own threads?!

HELLO, IS ANYONE THINKING AROUND HERE?!

Promoting? We are "vetting" this story.

We are only scrutinizing, not promoting.

Consider the source

The WS in WSJ tells you all you need to know.

Mmkay, let's be civil.

Although I suspect that anybody who would be somehow swayed by the title of my post wouldn't be on this site, I do see where you're coming from and I'll change it. :)

Re: Reply to comment

This site does rate highly in Google searches. Regardless of it not being the intent of this site, a lot of people from the general public end up here just from searching for "Ron Paul", for example. Also, any reporter doing due diligence research before writing their own articles about Paul could browse the article titles here.

Gotcha

I'll keep that in mind for future posts!

That author says Paul wants to eliminate a strong military

Should we email him and correct him and get that part retracted or changed? Need some vid proof to slam him with too or something.

That is the worst part of the article and highly damaging.

Paul is FOR a strong military the last I knew, but here at home, not spread over seas.

Ummm...

How much military does a country need, that already has 20,000 nuclear warheads and myriad delivery vehicles?

Great article

Even the negativity is near the bottom of the write up and make Ron Paul look maverick-y.

Wall Street has a friend in Obama

It's as plain as day. Look at all the money they are pouring into him. That is a heavy investment and they are expecting to reap rich returns.

Ron Paul is the only Republican who really could beat Obama. Therefore, they work overtime trying to discredit him.

"Don't waste your vote on Ron Paul." Waste? One of the absolute BEST thing Americans do for their liberty, their country and the world is VOTE FOR RON PAUL!

I thought the article was on target and not an ugly at all.

The last question he raises is a good one... ;

"And if they reject his solutions—eliminating the Fed, public schools, a strong military and entitlements—will Mr. Paul's brand of libertarianism survive without its modern-day crusader? Given the nation's economic upheaval, if America isn't ready for Mr. Paul's brand of politics now, it may be never be."

It's a bit too much to take

I'm thinking it's a bit too much to take if you're an average joe reader. By saying that Dr. Paul wants to end a "strong military" (which I fear could and will be construed as strong defense by many) and public schools (even though the Federal Dept. of Education is his primary target, not public schools at the state level) it just distances too many people. Also, they sort of paint him as a no-chance candidate with that tiny group of followers that the media loves to talk about. You're right though, it's certainly not all bad. (And who knows, maybe some people will like the "radical" approach?)

Comments on the WSJ usually run about 9 to 1 in favor of Dr Paul. Sit back and watch as the WSJ gets verbally annihilated by their own customers.
