WikiLeaks chat logs: Lamo deceived Bradley Manning

Wired finally published the full chat logs between Bradley Manning and Adrian Lamo, who apparently represented himself as giving journalistic source protection:

MANNING: uhm, trying to keep a low profile for now though, just a warning

LAMO: I'm a journalist and a minister. You can pick either, and treat this as a confession or an interview (never to be published) & enjoy a modicum of legal protection.

Manning is the Army Corporal implicated in the WikiLeaks dump. Lamo is the computer hacker that Manning confessed to, after which Lamo turned Manning in.

No go

An ethical problem, but not a legal one. Our "betters" are told/trained that they can lie to us to get what they want. That includes "law enforcement" officers.

Don't think this will get Bradley off from any charges in court.

a thousand people saw the war crime information before the leak

all the devils who saw this information should be thrown in gitmo prison except Bradley the only human being who objected to what he saw.

Hell on earth...Until we all grow up and fight for our liberty

We are all prisoners in this prisonplanet we call earth.

I am a prisoner

as long as Bradley Manning is one.

Manning is a hero

I think of him every day...as he is rotting in prison for exposing war crimes...

His example -- some day children will learn about him in their school books.

and i keep thinking of people claiming he's a fake

and just throw around words irresponsibly. when called out, they claim it's a free of speech issue. why do such people exist.

The maddening thing is,

people complain that those leaks are costing lives. Which is a convenient but totally ridiculous mantra, in the face of all the death and corruption Manning (allegedly) exposed, and which these same people tend to be utterly apathetic about.

I would give Greenwald the Pulitzer Prize if I could.

I hope everyone reads this full article- it's how real journalism is done! Plus, you learn a lot about all kinds of things, like:

Manning's statement, concealed by Wired until yesterday, that "approximately 85-90% of global transmissions are sifted through by NSA" or that " 85% of [U.S. aid to Pakistan] is for F-16 fighters and munitions to aid in the Afghanistan effort, so the US can call in Pakistanis to do aerial bombing instead of americans potentially killing civilians and creating a PR crisis"

If only truth were honored

.

Yeah, Grreenwald really goes

Yeah, Grreenwald really goes in-depth into these types of stories (Iraq war, Patriot act, civil liberties, etc.).

He also had some kind words for Ron Paul during the last campaign.
