Only??? Does he realize what he said??? Two years ago, with the republicans in charge, congress had an approval rating of 14%. Now with the Democrats in charge, it is an 11% approval rating. If you went out on the street and asked people which political party was their favorite, and also gave them the option of "I hate them both" who do you think would win.
Right on Billy, boy. We ONLY have the support of about 90% of the population.

I am not jewish, but I have jewish friends, it is very difficult to talk about Israel because there is too much emotion involved, the fact is that to say that we should stop all governmental foreign aid has nothing to do with any thing other than the fact that tax revenues are not to be used for that purpose. Our tax money is to be used only to provide basic services that can not be better provided by the private sector. The problem is that there are many powerful groups in our government, the government of Israel, and many other governments that benefit from our foreign aid dollars, and they will not stop their campaign to destroy Ron Paul.We have a very dificult fight ahead of us, the special interests that control our government are ruthless. I get so tired of the Israel-bashing that goes on in the Ron Paul camp. I am an ardent supporter of Ron Paul going back to about 2000. I understand that there are those who support Paul who buy into the hardcore leftist view of Israel, but it really should be kept in the closet IMO.

While so many people/govts bemoan that Palestinians and other Arabs don't want the State of Israel to exist, it's convenient to forget that NO ONE has officially recognized the State of Palestine to exist! Palestine is always referred to as "the Palestinian territory" or "the occupied territories" or "the West Bank"or "Gaza Strip", but NEVER as the State of Palestine. Double standard?
The Mexico/U.S. analogy does not hold water. The U.S. and Mexico were two separate nations who fought for the land (though of course it was the Europeans who were the invaders of American land to begin with).
However, with the Palestinians: the Jews, Christians and Muslims were living together in peace. Then the British came. Then after WW2 the USA and BRITAIN made a decision WITHOUT agreement or knowledge of the Palestinians living on the land, that they would bring a group of European Ashkenazi Jews to Palestine. It was not a "war" between two parties fighting over land, eg the European Jews fighting with the Palestinians.
Rather, it was 2 outside parties (who had no authority to make decisions about the land) making a decision for a 3rd party (European Ashkenazi Jews) to come and take over the Palestinian land.

I also hate all the Israel-bashing among Paul supporters. I consider myself to be a Zionist, but I don't believe that the U.S. should get involved in Israeli affairs. Unfortunately, many Paul supporters confuse believing Israel has a right to exist with believing we should give Israel (and other countries for that matter) foreign aid.

Israel has every right to protect its borders by deploying forces or building walls. The problem is that they are building the walls and settlements deep into the West Bank. Now West Bank is a Palestinian territory under international law. Because of this it takes hours for Palestinians to cross over one part of West Bank to another when the actual distance is lot lesser. Every Palestinian has to go through many checkpoints to visit his relatives inside West Bank.On the other hand, there is absolutely no restriction for settlers on the occupied land in terms of checkpoints and other humiliating things that happen against Palestinians. Now, you may say that Israel is doing all this for security. What kind of security can be achieved by settlement which are illegal under the international law? Isreal has no right to put checkpoints and build fences deep inside the Palestinian territories. Same way, the US has every right to build the fence on its borders to stop illegals from Mexico but it has no right to do so inside the Mexican territory.
The word apartheid may not be the right one but there is a reason when people use it in the context of Israel.
You may love Israel and you have every right to do so but lets be honest about the Israel-Palestinian issue.
