Observation from a french-canadian friend of RON PAUL...

0 votes

I look for Ron Paul since +- 2 months and I am, on some points, hum...perplex.
I looked the florida debate and I was REALLY disturbed to see that the 'TENDERNESS MOMENT' appeared when candidates had to speak about...GUNS!!! Some of them had tears in their eyes while recount stories like...'THE FIRST GUN DAD GIVES TO ME'...!!!
Sorry, but most canadians see guns as...disgusting, at least.
How can we dream of a better world when men are in love with guns?
FRIGHTENING...for a lot of planet citizens...
For me, a man who need a gun is a man who live in fear.

Look at the U.K.

They have very strict gun laws, and yet this link (http://tiny.cc/FPScb) suggests that gun violence is up in the U.K. In fact, last time I looked, violence in general was up there.

Thanks, but as a non-owner (at least at this time), I fully support the 2nd Amendment.

Guns??

I am sure you have come to think off this as a social problem in the US.
But it really isnt.
The media has a huge roll in prepetuating the violence in American society.
If this really interests you, Read"The Copycat Effect" by Loren Coleman.

It is very eye opening. And you will never let your kidding watch tv again.(I dont mean films at theaters)
It may also interest you to watch a movie "The Island" with Even McGregor; to see how those people are being conditioned into their false believes. Yeah, its fiction, but it is so true to the times we live in esp, in the States. Just talk to a person that watches FOX news on a daily basis, you will know what I mean.

PLANET CITIZENS?!?!?!?!?!?! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is a "planet citizen"? No offense or anything but that sounds like globalist propaganda. I live on this earth the same as you and all, but I AM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN, NOT A PLANET/GLOBAL CITIZEN!!!
Furthermore I'm not going to even bother to explain why we LOVE OUR GUNS to you because I'm not sure that any planet/global citizen would be able to wrap their mind around the concept.
Your Canadian politicians are just as corrupt and rotten as our gov has become (except for Ron Paul), it might do you good to notice the matrix we(You as a Canadian citizen, me as an American citizen) live in.

QUOTE FROM MEN BEHIND THE CURTAIN:
"YOU HAD BETTER WAKE UP, THERE ARE PEOPLE RUNNING YOUR LIFE AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW IT!"

they will have to pry my guns from my cold dead hands, I am not a violent person nor do I like the fact that some people kill people, but they do. I have the GOD GIVEN RIGHT to protect my family, NOT LET THE GOV DO IT!
I PROMISE TO EXERCISE THAT RIGHT, SHOULD I EVER HAVE TO!
DON"T TREAD ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give me liberty or give me death.

Excuse me but, I am a FRENCH-canadian...

and I just tried to find a word (english is not my native language) meaning 'inhabitant of earth.
Nothing more...

Truth will set us free.

OK

Just stating my 2 cents worth...
Give me liberty or give me death.
Think Free!

Give me liberty or give me death.

I Understand

..your position. I live in NYC. Toughest place to get a license. A lot of politicians use this so-called gun control to fuel their candidacy. If I throw you in the middle of East New York and you don't have anything on you, AND some criminal elements come in your way, would you expect NYPD to be there right on time to help you? In a lot of cases, its over when they arrive. And trust me, a poor victim will just be added to statistics and worse, will end up a cold case.

It takes six months, or maybe more to get a pistol permit here. That's hard enough itself. When these would be criminals can get it whenever they want. You are at a total disadvantage. When you have one, and you know how and when to use it, it levels the field.

"He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it." Confucius

The 2nd Amendment....

....is the guardian of all others.

I share our Founders’ belief that in a free society each citizen must have the right to keep and bear arms. They ratified the Second Amendment knowing that this right is the guardian of every other right, and they all would be horrified by the proliferation of unconstitutional legislation that prevents law-abiding Americans from exercising this right.

This is one of those pesky "checks and balances" that exists should the government turn against the people.

That, and I'd simply prefer not to have to wait 10-45 minutes for cops to show up if my life is in danger. I can do a fine job protecting myself, thanks.

O lord

Come on, Guns are to protect us from Dick Cheney

But, for now , your guns

But, for now , your guns mean nothing.
I mean, you can have millions of machine-guns in your basement....bush and his morons keep on tracks...
You know It start in canada too...WE WANT KYOTO AND OUR GOVERNMENT ACT LIKE IF THEY OWN US...ignoring canadian citizens.
Different countries, same rotten establishment in bed with government.

Truth will set us free.

what's frightening is when

what's frightening is when your leaders stop representing you ayajoss.

70% of the people in america are against the war in iraq. i personally believe the number is higher, but regardless, the leaders of this nation do not uphold the opinion its people.

think about that. over 2/3 of the people are against it, yet its still happening. why? because our govt. is acting on its own accord, despite the fact its supposed to represent us.

so what if the govt. continues to act against the opinion of the public? how do we stop it? liberties aren't taken over night, they are taken slowly with laws and lies. laws that are made to "protect" us and lies that are made to keep us in the dark.

the founders of this nation foresaw the need for the people to protect themselves from the government. a gun acts as a efficient means for me, as a citizen, to protect the freedoms guaranteed to me by law. i personally own a number of guns, for this reason only. i do not live my life in fear, i live my life prepared to protect my liberties. our liberties in the US have been slowly taken away because of the patriot act, and other provisions meant to "protect" us.

freedom comes at a great cost. it only takes a few people to take it away, if all the good men and women stay silent and dont object. for myself, the idea of using a gun to inflict damage on another person is nearly unthinkable. but just because i cant think of it, plenty of people can.

Yeah It Can Be Difficult To Understand

I was raised in a family that, while my Dad had a rifle for sport hunting, felt most guns are unnecessary and promote/contibute to the possibility of an overally violent society. The Constitution was drawn to both to protect us and provide for the ability in situations like we now face to have the right to protect ourselves ergo the right to bear arms. While obviously a great many Americans would agree with you that guns by and large aren't needed for positive purposes in a modern peaceful society, they recognize that the right to posess them must be preserved.

sooooo......?

Do you really think that people have guns because they are cowaring in fear, or because they rationally concluded that the world is not always a nice place and everyone has a right to self defence. For me, a man who needs a gun is a man whos cares about himself and his family! I do not fear death, I fear life without liberty.

I do not fear death, I fear life without liberty.

from a French Canadian living in the USA

A man who lives in fear is a man who's Government can break into his home, call him an enemy combatant... Take him outside of the USA, torture him
without ever needing to bring him to trial "Patriot Act". The right to own a gun is the right to protect oneself against those that would do you harm "Individual Liberty". Perhaps some of our American friends would like to add a few comments of their own.

"No War, No Income Tax, No Big Brother, No Kidding."

"No War, No Income Tax, No Big Brother, No Kidding."

Freedom

I respect your right to believe as you like and live as you choose. I only ask for the same. Very simply put - Freedom. That is the message of Ron Pauls campaign and the desire of all who support it.

You have to understand our culture...

You have to understand our culture... Guns are everywhere... even if you or others might not agree with them, they are embedded sooo deep in our culture you can't really change it... the 2nd Amendment was setup specifically so that in times like these (where the govt' is failing and has taken too much power) the people can stand up and fight for their freedoms.... once again, you have to understand our culture...
