ABC7 News Asked Me About the Debt Ceiling (Video)

ABC 7 asked me a few questions about the debt ceiling debate.

I got cut out of the news piece that they aired (this is what they were looking for). Luckily, we have video from an iPhone. The audio is bad so I tried to transcribe as much as I could make out. Maximize the video to read the transcript properly.

Great Job! As Stephen Colbert

Great Job! As Stephen Colbert would put it you just dropped a truth bomb in his ears.

The Ron Paul campaign is out of sight come join the revolution it really is something other than else!

Was that Quentin Tarantino interviewing you?

Nice job with the answers!

I'm glad ya'll got it on video.

Good job joey33!

Cut because you're speaking a foreign language.

The lamestream news speak Republicrat and can only see things in black and white. Once you go and start talking about colors you might as well be using sign language on a blind person.

Excellent job!

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.

Thank you!

You did a fantastic job! Not surprised that it wasn't aired. It wasn't what they wanted to hear. Keep talking. The truth will set us free!

Great job on the interview!

I'm sure the overwhelming majority of what you said was WAY OVER the head of the reporter. Plus, it seemed as if he really needed to get to a restroom ASAP, so your lenghty (though well-thought-out) responses probably irritated him...lol.

But this goes to show what a well-educated populous can achieve. Instead of "dumbing down" let's "smarten up" the public whenever and wherever we can.

AWESOME job, buddy!!!

commented at ABC7

I watched the finished story that aired on ABC7 and then sent an email to the station about how biased it was.

A government big enough to provide you with everything you need is powerful enough to take everything away (from you).

Kudos to you...

...for being ready to give an answer. And shame on ABC for once again marginalizing the truth.

Good Job. You've proven what

Good Job. You've proven what I've experienced and believed all along. If you are informed and can intelligently get to the root of the matter, unfortunately you end up on the editing room floor!

Nice job!

Way to go man!

Great job Joey - you were too

Great job Joey - you were too knowledgeable and they didn't have a clue what you were talking about when you veered off from Brittney Spears type answers so they cut you out of the segment.

dude, it just dawned me

Man, this is awesome. It's

Man, this is awesome. It's great that you got Austrian vs Keynesian in there. I bet that guy has never heard either of those terms before...or Hayek and Mises.

Like others have said, he didn't know that you were actually going to be informed. Not what he wanted to hear for sure, but you nailed it.

Wow! That was a well informed interviewee!

You don't see well informed interviewees on TV. Did it make it on TV?

From his follow up questions, the reporter didn't even seem to realize or understand the points Joey was making. The reporter was just following his script and pre-determined questions.

Way to go Joey!!!

Excellent Job!

that guys like 6 foot 7 and really seems annoyed!

And it seemed like he had to

And it seemed like he had to go pee really really bad too!

Great Job. This is why we

Great Job. This is why we all need to have these points ready, because you never know when you are going to have a microphone put in your face. They may have cut you because you actually had an intelligent response but thats exactly why that form of media is dying.

I wonder how long it took them to find someone with a pro-obama/democrat sign. Boisterous phony tea party republican party faithfuls are a dime a dozen but most people on the left are just complete go-along-to-get along drones.

That's awesome- I can hear the affiliate teaser now

"Coming up at 11- Keynesian economics: What YOU can do to protect yourself".

He looked like he was going to pull the mic away

He asked me what I wanted to add, so I told him. Not what he wanted I guess.

He seemed really annoyed that you actually know what you are talking about.

I saw a few similar interviews on my local news this morning and they picked the stupidest people with the stupidest responses to include.

Stupid mainstream media.

Nice job

I like the way you gave the reporter a reading list at the end.

I love when you bring up

I love when you bring up Keynesian economics and start talking about studying Austrians like Hayek, Mises, etc. The news guy's like, "wtf is this guy talkin about? Kin-eysian wha?? haha

Ya, that was great!

Pure awesomeness.

Agree, great job

I was thinking the same thing. Great job on the interview.

Hey great job!

But that's not what Californians want to hear. It's not that what you said was wrong, it just wasn't what they wanted. First the news people love to ask questions to folks that will give a very basic response. No offense but they probably looked at a young guy like yourself and were expecting you to say something that sounded like "gimme, gimme, gimme". Next, they never want to allow the general populace think outside their talking points or frame of reference. Finally your answer was outside the us vs them dichotomy. Has to be team against team. I was interviewed recently about foreign intervention by Fox News. I knew the audience and took a more tea party tone, pro-soldier, but applied my uplifting, patriotic, yet unifying message of our great movement that is changing minds though I was at what was percieved by them to be a left wing event. My initial thought was that my statement came out perfectly, I was impressed even. The interviewer and camera guy were surprised by the succienct rhetoric of the response. He commented that what I said was even a great response. Even came up to me later in the day and thank me again for the great interview. When it was all said and done my 30 second response was wittled down to 6 seconds of disjointed, out of context, sound byte. They can't help themselves, it is what it is. Even local affiliates fall into the same traps of reporting according to their personal bias.

One of my core values is to always take a principled stance. That's one thing I learned from Ron Paul. Compromise is not something I do when it comes to my values and principles.
