GOP House sells out Americans AGAIN, passes Boehner's bill

Washington (CNN) -- The Republican-controlled House of Representatives on Friday narrowly passed Speaker John Boehner's plan to raise the nation's the debt ceiling and slash government spending, sending the measure to Senate Democrats who have promised to immediately defeat it.

Boehner's proposal was approved by the House in a sharply polarized 218-210 vote that was delayed by a day while the speaker rounded up support from wary tea party conservatives.

Even if defeated in the Senate, the Boehner plan now is the Republican negotiating position for hammering out a deal with congressional Democrats and President Barack Obama to avert a possible government default next week.

did you REALLY expected

did you REALLY expected something different ?

So much for the Tea Party.

Same old, same old.

The old Washington two-step

and the sheeple will be fooled again.

Let's get serious, this whole charade was political theatre. Notice when all these important votes occur? Sunday night at 3:00 a.m. postponed from Saturday night because they need a few days to get their talking points down to convice us that The Republicons and Democraps came together to save America!

What a show! Bravo! Encore!

(insert laugh track here...)

And why the side show and the distraction?

To keep the "Fast and Furious Gun running scheme buried on the back page? ...out of sight out of mind?

Outstanding performance!

oh! the humanity!

What's new? The same

What's new? The same treasonous leadership in both parties.

And you are surprised?

C'mon, folks. This is political theatre writ large. It is a circus. Let's stop wasting time and resources thinking about it, blogging about it, worrying about it, ringing up so-called representatives' offices about it.

What's the use in including this verbage if you give the dang house away? Just because I say I need more money doesn't mean I should get it & turn around & put you into even MORE DEBT, and buy another house in YOUR NAME, does it?

Who cares about the BBA verbage, if the DEMs & Repubs & elites they serve get LITERALLY EVERYTHING they want.

Sheesh, if someone said take $100,000 & you won't have to pay it back for years to come. Heck, I could be outta Dodge by then, you know?

Do you know what I mean???

Weren't a lot of these people

Weren't a lot of these people elected on the coat-tails of the Tea Party? I thought the TEA in Tea Party stood for Taxed Enough Already. How does raising the debt ceiling support that position?

I'm putting together another video, showing the...

22 members of Congress who voted against the Boehner sellout.
I'm going to suggest that Republican, Libertarian and Tea Party voters who have a Republican member of Congress who voted with Boehner vote against their member of Congress and
spend their time either helping the 22 GOP heroes or stocking up with provisions, including hard currency, weapons and ammunition. Congress, the GOP and the Tea Party need to be disinfected in 2012.

here we go again...

To my Rep in Texas...
You sold us out John. Your yes vote along party lines has just lost you your position... the people weren't smart enough after TARP to recognize they had been looted, but this time, too many are suffering and when they are no longer able to afford a loaf of bread, your GOP friends won't be there to laugh and play with as ya'll will be hiding from an angry public army whose only want is to tar and feather all yes votes to the Boehner Bill.
You have totally let us down and when the Senate rejects this Bill, maybe you will choose the RIGHT THING TO DO and say NO RAISE to the debt ceiling. If you don't, you will have lost this vote in 2012.

I'm not giving Michele Bachmann a pass. She voted "NO" only

because she is running for POTUS. A Yes vote would have killed her chances of course. I'll never forget that she voted "YES" to extend the Patriot Act...SOB!!

Remember what former governor of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura said of Michele Bachmann :

"She is one very shrewd politician."

Man, I've lived a long while now. I've never seen such a dysfuctional government in my life.

We are in very, very serious trouble. As Ron Paul said on Cavuto today, nothing is going to get better until we liquidate the debt and start over.

...In the meantime, "Dr. Ronnie" will benefit much from the stupidity of our elected leaders. He may even become POTUS, despite the efforts of the controlled media and the wishes of the Illuminati World Elite..

House passes GOP debt plan; Senate expected to kill it
Friday, Jul. 29, 2011

WASHINGTON — After days of theatrics, the House of Representatives Friday evening finally approved a conservative Republican plan linking an increase in the nation's debt ceiling to the highly unlikely passage of a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

"slash government spending"

Anybody at CNN do any research or did they simply regurgitate the propaganda that was fed them.

They slashed future bloated budgets. When I cut my budget I don't call "not getting" an extra donut next year, budget cutting.

What gives them the right to put, we the people, in debt. Are third party obligations binding?

Free includes debt-free!

All the msm does what they are told.

When is the last time you heard about one of our other wars in Libya? Or Obombya's disdain and diregard for the constitution?

They don't vote or vote late

to see if the vote goes the correct way . They are reserve voters.

Giffords has an excuse SteveMT.

You might want to check that generic comment with respect to her.

SteveMT's picture

Don't agree with you on this one.

Giffords traveled not once, but twice to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to watch the space shuttle blast-off, didn't she?

On an important vote like this, all she also had to do was to show up, push the button of her choice, and leave.

I think those were special cases that her doctors approved.

I would suspect regular work is out of the question.

Of course, on this issue, both of us are making assumptions.

Though I would say mine is a safer bet. You're just being callous.

SteveMT's picture

Is the future of the country also a special case?

There is no work involved with some thought about what to do about this important issue, going to Washington, and pushing of the vote button.

I hear you about both of us making assumptions. Two months after the Kennedy Center blast-off, my assumption is that she has further recovered from her injuries to vote on the future debt level of this country.

If it were me after all of these months, I would have resigned my post. The country comes first, always. I would have relinquished this power to another and focused on getting better and my family. She could always run again after a full recovery. She would be a shoe-in if indeed she could debate and is up on all of the issues of the day. The country must always come first. These people never want to relinquish their power, IMO.

I disagree about the importance of the vote.

After all, it was DOA in the Senate anyway.

Primarily though, this is all hype. The future of the country is not at stake. We will either continue down the road we are on, or we'll have to start actually paying our debts rather than roll them over into new debt. This will not change with one vote, or even this one issue.

There is no dire consequence to this vote going either way.

If the limit is not raised, then as money runs out, things the government has no business doing will have to be left unfunded.

If it is raised, we continue spending and borrowing and we merely postpone the day we have to make choices on what to cut till later.

This is not a critical issue at this time. That is all hype.

It IS an opportunity to educate and do the right thing. But obviously, that isn't going to happen, so the best we can hope for here is education.

Finally, I do agree with you about her giving up her seat. If she is not capable. she should resign.

3/4 Kansas reps are clueless.

At least the guy RP endorsed has brain.

They have been on the dark-side,....

and this vote proves it.

They know that any bill will probably be voted down by the Senate anyway, so why not pass a bill that has some teeth in it? This bill is just lipstick on a pig.

I just hope enough people realize that there are enemies within our country that are bent on our destruction and that we have no choice but to resist them with everything we've got.

When a sociopath puts a gun to your head and tells you to get in the van or he will kill you, you'd better believe it. You'd also better not get into the van. He will kill you regardless.
