Rand Paul completely disrespected by Don Lemon on CNN

Update from FOX: "Rand Paul smacks around CNN host."

The interviewer basically attacked Rand over and over to the point that Rand stopped talking near the end for a few seconds. This needs to get out.
Thanks ron_paul_is_awesome for providing link.

When Rand Paul says he was
When Rand Paul says he was willing to vote for the Reid bill, he's wrong. He is willing to vote for the Reid bill WITH a balanced budget amendment.
A balanced budget amendment isn't some tiny thing. It is a major thing. You can't pretend like it is some insignificant thing. Saying you offered to vote for the Reid bill while also asking for a balanced budget amendment to be included is like trying to prove your lack of racism by claiming you atended the MLK rally, but as a protestor.

What I would have said
"Before we continue, I need to ask you a question. When did you stop beating your wife?"
*wait for him to start talking, and regardless of what he tries to say, cut him off with:*
"I'm not asking for talking points, just answer the question: When did you stop beating your wife?"
"Do you understand what I'm getting at? It is impossible to properly answer the question without being able to put it into the proper context and correct the falacies and false pretexts the question contains. Whether it is obvious to you or not, you are doing the exact same thing to me right now, and by not giving me the opportunity to put your questions into the proper context and correct the falacies and false pretexts they contain, you are making it impossible for me to satisfactorily answer them. I request that you either stop asking me loaded questions or at least stop interrupting me when I try to correct them."

Beck also talked about it on his show this morning:

Even Hannity asked Rand about it when he interviewed him today.
Does anyone have an email
Does anyone have an email address we can use instead of the contact form? Based on my work in web development, I have a feeling that form doesn't go to anyone too important.
Don Lemon is an arrogant
Don Lemon is an arrogant A-hole, we all know that, therefore that begs the question: Why go on his show? Ron and Rand Paul do not need his endorsement.
To spread the truth.
It's better than not going on at all.

I give Rand a lot of credit for handling himself with class.

sent....and a scouring one at that. What a twit. Since his new found fame from Comedy Central he thinks he's a liberal Oreilly.

Beck is going to talk about this interview
in a few minutes.
I thought that was actually very funny.
It's almost like the show was designed to make Rand look as good as possible, by pitting him against an intellectual midget.
I think we ought to thank CNN. Or, we can pretend we are Obama loyalists who are offended that CNN represents us so poorly. That way they are getting negative feedback about Lemon from both sides.
"Dear CNN,
I just watched Don Lemon interviewing Rand Paul. Next time, please do us Democrats a favor and supply a more intelligent anchor to challenge Rand. This Mr. Lemon is a sad joke. He's so dumb, he makes our enemies look spectacular."
Let's Not Forget....
that the punk Lemon has also disrespected Ron Paul as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGxBofJmw-o&feature-related
Can you imagine if the American Revolution happened today instea
Can you imagine if the American Revolution happened today instead?
CNN would have Don Lemon shouting questions at Thomas Paine, stupid leading questions like "Why did you want the British to open fire on innocent civilians?" and Twitter's servers would be overwhelmed by the masses tweeting "We ♥ U King George!"
Too true!
And a lot of those guys back then weren't polished enough to make it nowadays... Jefferson included, who was said to be lanky and awkward with a lisp and shied away from all public speaking.
I hope that...
The now 98 people who have commented here have emailed CNN to let them know what a piss poor showing this so-called journalist just made. What an arrogant and presumptuous jerk. He was not the least bit professional and treated Rand like a 5 year old. I was waiting on him to say, "BAD Senator Paul! You answer my question the way I want you to or you're going on time out!"
Please email CNN. I did.
"Truth is treason in the Empire of lies." - Ron Paul, MD
I left negative feedback on CNN's website
I just left a scathing review of Don Lemon's interview of Senator Rand Paul. My last line was: "Mr. Lemon left a sour taste in my mouth after watching him work."
A government big enough to provide you with everything you need is powerful enough to take everything away (from you).
As bad as the rudeness
... was the leading questions. He could have just been a little more frank and said:
"How do you feel about doing what nobody in America wants you to do?"
"How did you vote against your party and isn't that stupid of you?"
"You don't care that nobody will listen to you after this, right?"
What ever happened to reporters having integrity and looking for facts rather than talking about gross general-isms and "interviews" that are plainly meant as an editorial provoked through leading biased questions? If I ever meet Don Lemon, he's going to get a scowl from me.
Poor form...
If one wants to understand why the mainstream media is becoming increasingly ignored by the American people, and as well, why journalists are about as respected as lawyers and used car salesmen, one need look no further than Don Lemon's atrocious behavior during this interview of a U.S. Senator for an explanation. Mr. Lemon seems to think his role is not to interview for the purpose of reporting, but rather to create the news by belittling and badging a politician with whom he obviously disagrees in the apparent belief that such actions will result in changing people's minds. The hubris of this verbal assault is staggering. It certainly undermines CNN's claim to be the "most trusted name in news." A sane person wouldn't trust one of their reporters to be within 10 yards of themselves based on Don Lemon's performance. If CNN lets their employees run rampant to this degree, to grind their own axes as they "feel" (feelings being something that Don Lemon clearly feels strongly about), why should anyone "trust" anything CNN has to tell them about objective reality? This is another good example of why "direct sourcing" via first-hand accounts, through the Internet, is becoming increasing the mainstream method for obtaining news and information. Not only are such middle-men increasingly economic inefficient, their arrogant presumptions in vetting the news and lecturing people on how to think is simply in poor form. It is as if to go into a department store and have a clerk insult what you are wearing, to then tell you that you can only shop in the "fat-people's" section of the store, and to then refuse to sell you certain items because they don't won't look good on you. What happened to "the customer is always right?" A news organization's role is to present a rack of news items for your purview, for your selection, not to tell you which ones you can select from or to instruct you on how to think.
Well said!
I really enjoyed reading this comment.
Unfortunately, CNN does set out to shape opinions, just like the rest of the MSM. It's aggravating when they make it too obvious, it's maddening when people actually respond to the brainwashing by adopting the opinions planted in them, and it's totally disheartening to try and have an intelligent conversation with these brainwashed individuals.
Here's the part I don't get
This guy and many like him continually repeat the line "the american people want (fill in the blank}", as though somehow they are speaking for the american people. Why doesn't Rand his dad and other liberty loving individuals like them, call these guys out and ask them how they can be so in tune with what the american people want when there agenda is set by big corporate media. It's such a simple response. I mean they throw this crap out there and the narcissism just astounds me. Why, because this fucking guy is some idiot talking head on the TV, he actually has some kind of magic crystal ball to the minds of the human collective. I mean why doesn't Rand say, yeah I talk to american people every day and they tell me they don't want our dollar destroyed by printing money for giant banker bonuses and useless wars that make people around the world hate us. Simple
AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE
Good point, but that's not Rand's style
Rand always makes sense, but he rarely "goes for the throat" or says things to give your average, ignorant American the impression that he is talking over their heads. I mean, TV-watchers might get disturbed from their trance if Rand called attention to the fact that the show is scripted, BS propagandizing, and nothing more.
His father usually does better with attack-dog interviewers, and manages to "up the ante" without appearing contentious himself.
How is it a compromise ....
... to agree to RAISE the debt ceiling if the goal is to ELIMINATE the debt?? A TRUE compromise would be to LOWER the debt ceiling instead of eliminating the debt all at once! Rand has only succeeded in making his father look like an extremist. And all to get some phony promise to enact a Balanced Budget Amendment in some far off, undetermined time frame, with no agreement on how to balance it.
Mark my words, it will only be a matter of time til some interviewer will ask Ron how come his own son agreed to raise the limit. Not Rand's best moment.
I take my marching orders from the Constitution!
This is infuriating...
Liberals watching this will think this clown showed Rand Paul up and made him and the Tea Party look like fools.
What this interviewer actually did was ignore everything Sen. Paul was saying, trying to get yes or no answers to questions that are not set up like yes or no questions that can be answered without an explanation.
Overall, Sen. Paul is being made out to look like a villain to the left. That's actually a pretty beautiful thing when you consider that 4, 8, or 12 years down the road, Sen. Paul will be making his first bid for the presidency. It will make his primary season a beautiful thing to behold as the right falls in love with him all over again.
Playing the Media's Favorite Card
Do I dare say it? Don Lemon is racist towards Sen. Rand Paul.

..."let's do this interview...can we do this interview...
...without talking points.?"
The interviewer says as he clearly reads from his teleprompter what to say.
THEN, later Rand answers the question, but because his reply did not fit the teleprompter's predetermined and scripted interview, the interviewer panicks and flys off the handle...
Like a puppet who just hand the hand removed from it...lol

That does seem like a better explanation than...
... Lemon just being incredibly rude to a United States senator. So he's too dumb to or not allowed to adjust to an interviewers responses. I need to stop watching the MSM.
