The Rise of the Stealth Paulites
I've noticed this a lot more lately:
A. I'm in a store and flash my $20 Liberty dollar coin at the clerk and break into my RP speech, and before I get halfway through the first sentence, I hear "oh yeah, Ron Paul. I'm voting for him." No RP buttons, no gushing about how many meetups they've been to, just a plain old endorsement. Of course I always remind them about being registered Rep (here in CA), and they almost always seem to already know this or are already Rep.
B. Driving down the road in either of my vehicles (both of which are plastered front to rear with RP gear), and I get a thumbs up from random drivers with no bumper stickers or anything, just average people who are confidently backing the Dr.
Has everyone else noticed this? It definitely feels like we are making larger headway into the mainstream the past few weeks!

Had an engaging conversation
Had an engaging conversation with a big Ron Paul supporter in line to a trance concert in the UK.
Waving a sign for the last two days on a busy corner.
About an hour and a half is all I have time for. Both days I have gotten one thumbs down. But I have had dozens of honking cars, thumbs up from dozens of people, and one guy asked where he could get a sign. It has been fun, and the best part is it actually feels like I am contributing to something greater than myself. Always a good feeling.
I pick spots around Columbia
I pick spots around Columbia and wear an Uncle Sam mask while holding a giant Ron Paul sign. The first time I did it about 6 weeks ago - mostly everyone looked puzzeled. I've noticed with each subsequent time that the thumbs up, honks and waves have increased dramatically. I'm also seeing a lot more RP signs planted at intersections and whatnot. The word is definitely getting out.
A few weeks ago
My wife and I were having lunch at a vietnamese restaurant (Pho!) and I over heard two older men at a table next to us. I only caught a few words, "gold standard", "federal reserve", "ron paul". I mentioned it to my wife, that I thought those gentleman were talking about Ron Paul. We finished eating and as I was getting up from the table I stopped to chat with them. One was definitely a supporter, possibly trying to convert his buddy. I said, "I couldn't help over hearing you, do you like Ron Paul?" His eyes lit up, "Oh yeah, Ron Paul. The only honest man in congress. He's gonna be the next President!" I smiled. -- Then, strangely enough, as we drove out of the parking lot, a soccer mom in a mini-van pulled up next to me at the light, her vehicle was absolutely covered on all windows by Ron Paul signs! Strange coincidences. -- Another time, I was driving along with a friend, talking to him about Ron Paul and we drove right by a white and blue Hope for America sign. He was like, "Whoa, dude!"
Newly registered GOP voters?
Is there any way for us to get the number of newly registered republican voters? I can't imagine that anyone would register republican this year unless they were voting for Paul.
Also, where can I find statistics on how many people voted in the republican primarhy last year?
If we are saying that the polls aren't legitmate, can we come up with educated estimates using other data points?
Listen to this...
Our meetup is just getting going here in Alaska. We had 15 people at our last meeting and out of the group only ONE guy had been registered as a Republican before Ron Paul. If those statistics are across the board, we have about a 95% increase in support from what the lame polls show!

Brilliant article that explains why we love Dr. Paul:

Our little meetup has found this DVD to be a fantastic tool:
Today, I met a fellow by chance in a hotsprings resort pool. I had given him two DVD's. One was FIAT EMPIRE. He told me that "they just blew [his] mind, absolutely just blew [his] mind!" He said, "fiat empire was by far" the one that caused him to go out and actually read the most number of books. I believe we have another. This DVD video tool is working.
We order them here:
FIAT Empire: Volunteer Edition - Bulk (100 DVD's) USD$ 68.39

or
http://www.kamron.com/fiat_empire.htm
You can't burn many by hand if your time has any value. There are many other powerful tools at our disposal that are not ready-made. Our little meetup group just haven't found them all yet. We all find different things that work for us, it's kind of like distributed processing based on chaos theory!
I find passing out DVD's
I find passing out DVD's very effective. So much so that I bought a 1 to 7 DVD duplicator and a disk printer. The duplicator has an internal hard drive so I can load up to 35 full length movies onto it and burn 7 of them simultaneously with the push of a few buttons. I'll definitely add this movie to my collection. I'm also going to add the DVD's for Delegates and Alex Jones' new Fabled Enemies too. This gives me a wide selection of movies I can used based upon the political leanings of the intended recipient.

Find out what's really going on!
my dad is a republican...
very conservative. has voted for dems in the past because he's intelligent enough to consider the best person when the time calls for it.
he's 65 and never contributed to a campaign, never will.
but he will be voting for ron paul ;-)
alot of people are out there like my dad.
I'm a stealth Paulite by default
I want to be more active but due to my present personal circumstances (can't really go into that) my activity is limited to the internet right now. I don't wear any RP gear or have a bumper sticker, but the first chance I got I changed my Constitution party registration back to Republican (used to be one) just so I can vote for Ron Paul in the primaries. I'm in my thirties and I have never voted in a presidential primary before but this time you better believe I'm chomping at the bit. My point is that I think more people are catching on than we think. Also, even though he's not advertised much on mass media, there are some local media personalities who like him and are talking about him now, which can only help.

Dixie Chicks
Does anybody know what the Dixie Chicks are up to? As I recall, they were openly critical of President Bush (ashamed he was from Texas) and against the Iraq war. Perhaps they would be interested in supporting RP and vindicate their position??? Maybe write a song for him or headline at a benefit concert? I believe they are headquartered in Austin, TX.
google them
find their website or manager and email them. great idea, imo.
Contact Info
I didn't see a way to contact them on their website...they seem to be keeping a low profile but I'll keep trying!

Sometimes we forget
how popular the message is. I was sitting in my truck waiting to turn left and traffic was real heavy. more than likely I would be turning left on yellow which makes me nervous anyway. Someone behind me starts laying on the horn and I am thinking no way am I pulling in front of that traffic back off dude. I get an opening to move on yellow and the car is right on my tail still blowing his horn and then I hear him start yelling Ron Paul Ron Paul with his thumb in the air. It was then I remebered my bumper sticker. Duh!

The Random Campaign
.
That's what is so great about this campaign--people are just stoked to talk about Ron Paul any time, any where, to total strangers. I do it all the time - usually to cashiers when I am buying something. I point to my hat or shirt and ask, "Know who he is?" They always say no. So then I give them a "Google Ron Paul" card and say, "This'll give you something to smile about."
By the way, I love the slogan, "Vote for Ron Paul and Win a Free Country!"
Last, there are some cool Ron Paul shirts on ebay. Check out ebay: 250200129021 $10 + $5 to ship.
Gas Station Convert
Last night the guy working at the gas station was checking a guys ID card and told him that the station down the street made you scan your state ID to prove your age to buy cigs. I told him yeah wait till your insurance company cuts you off because information they got off your national ID card. He said "Yeah the globalist scum.. " and then went on a rant about big government and how he was in the Marines in 1990 and how the UN was taking our national soverginty. I asked him if he was a Ron Paul supporter and he said "Who?" I told him he would be and i gave him a stack of slim jims and bumper sticker. He read about half way through the slim jim and was like "FINALY!!!"
Instant convert he was just waiting for someone to give him the name of the guy who felt like did. With him it turns out they are eye to eye on every issue. I will go back to that gas station in a week to see if I have created a monster.
Please tell me where this
Please tell me where this gas station is so I can give that guy a high-five.

A Republic, If You Can Keep It
I love this thread
Yeah, It feels so good when somebody else comes up to you and says "Your man was on the NYTimes today"
Heck yeah (with controlled glotting of course) I never show it, i promise.
Even the places I frequent with my huge bumper sticker on my laptop treat me differently. I even got a free drink today.
Yeah, Freedom is popular.
I love us.
IMAGINE- we win NH then EVERYBODY hears about Ron Paul...
well, at least everyone who gives a damn.... I am sure there will still be people (even here in Texas RP's home state) that after the initial primaries in Iowa and NH should Paul win will say "Paul Who?"
but at least with the VOTING people, he will be known.... after the primaries then its a whole new mission I hope you folks realize....
Right now we are educating the people who care about Politics... after the primaries we will have to educate the ordinary person (especially those who vote by party lines only) about Ron Paul...
I hate to say this, but *when* he does win the Republican Nominee, its going to be the same fight... all over again... this time to educate the comman man who pays no head to nightly news... (lots of people dont)
I'm probably one of them
But I'm changing. Got a Ron Paul shirt, and I'm going to my first meetup tomorrow. I don't have any Ron Paul stuff on my car. Too many slow, idiot drivers here in AZ and I have to use my middle finger to often. I don't want that to show for Ron Paul.
good idea! wouldn't look
good idea! wouldn't look good fer the Dr.
But if you DO drive with yer middle finger, can I interest you in a McCain sticker?
Thank you
you made me laigh.
I think I fit
I would match vincebodies description. I don't wear buttons no bumper stickers just two posts here and I have been speaking to people.
I was in despair in the summer. I was thinking we were going to lose our republic and descend into dictatorship. I have thought we were heading there all my life, but I could see that so many of the necessary steps had already been taken. Having voted libertarian in 4 consecutive presidential elections, I was not relishing a choice of Hillary or Guiliani. Libertarians have not been on the ballot since 1992. In 2004 I was hoping they or the Constitution Party would qualify, but since Oklahoma tightened its laws it seems to be really hard for them to get ballot status.
I noticed a bumper sticker for Ron Paul in the office parking lot. I went and spoke with him. It encouraged me about the prospects for Dr paul and I then began to speak out for him.
I really began to see something was happening when 5 million was raised in the 3rd quarter! I told my office mate that something was happening and I know it raised his hopes also. Then when Dr Paul had the November 5, 2007 fund raiser I started to hope he might win. I went home and told my wife that Ron Paul might win! Now we are both hoping for his inaguration in 2009.
I am sure there are many of us stealth supporters!
I am praying for Dr. Paul to win. I know God is powerful!
