MSNBC "Crackpot" 12-26-07

0 votes

Anybody watch Morning Joe this morning? One of the hosts (not one of the usual 3) called Ron Paul a crackpot because Paul doesn't think the civil war was necessary. People are so quick to say kook or crackpot just because his views are different, yet they usually offer no valid argument in response. Just shows me that they either don't have a valid argument or just aren't knowledgeable enough to argue the other side of the issue so they revert to name calling because, well, it's easier.

"Luctor et Emergo" - Struggle and Emerge

David Shuster

I heard it and he made me mad.
I turned on MSNBC 4 hours later and he was on another show.
He mentioned that he will also be on Tucker's show tonight.
I'm going to watch it and if Tucker doesn't straighten him out,
I'm going to email the President of MSNBC and tell them that I am switching to CNN every time I see David Shuster's face, from now on.

2 points that he ignored:
1. Every other major country ended slavery around the same time, without killing 600,000 of their own people.
2. Paul wanted the Government to buy all the Slaves and free them. For Ron Paul to spend Government money, he must really love the cause.

What did the other 'crackpot' say?

You know, I just don't give a damn about what these bums have to say anymore. However, I was rather taken by what Chris Matthews had to say about the Democrat candidates, and how the 'establishment' candidate always comes out on top.

Obviously, Matthews will be pulling for Obama; but we can easily influence him to put in a good word or two for Ron Paul.

"Free government is founded in jealousy, and not in confidence; it is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions." Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions of 1798

What does the Civil War have to do with now????

I would say everyone should read this book ...

http://www.amazon.com/Real-Lincoln-Abraham-Agenda-Unnecessar...

It offers a different look at Lincoln's presidency. If we as people are going to study history and apply it to the "now", it is always good to look at things from a different perspective. I apply the same thought to looking at the current presidential race. Ron Paul offers that enlightening perspective we as a people have for so long been craving.

Issues, issues, issues

Iraq war, sound money, reducing government spending - please don't take your marching orders from Russert ;P

Just because the idiot Russert wanted to talk about the civil war does not warrant our continuation of the topic. Russert and his elite toadies are an annoyance, a distraction. They are really less than insignificant right now, and we should forget them.

I think legalizing the Constitution is a much better topic. No torture, no rendition (illegal kidnapping), no war etc ... wow Ron Paul covers so much awesome good stuff for all of us.

Lets go make some cool Ron Paul signs and meet the neighbors.

Re: Issues, issues, issues

Although things like this shouldn't matter when deciding on who to vote for as a president, it does give you more insight into the way he thinks and I think he wins over more people every time he speaks about these historical events.

Thanks

Thanks for handing Ron Paul the South.

For a Presidential candidate to actually question the wisdom of the War of Northern Aggression or to cast any doubt on Saint Abraham is going to be HUGE in the South. Just because the history books say the North was all good and right and the South was all evil and wrong does not mean that everyone believes it. Sotherners have known all along that there was much more to it than that and that the North had its own evil motives. I can't even imagine how strongly it is going to resonate with those people for a Presidential candidate to acknowledge what they have known their whole lives but never have been able to talk about outside the South.

This is amazing! Every time Ron Paul opens his mouth, he gathers in another group of disenfranchised voters.

Ahahahahahaha! Ron Paul is like that wrestler in Greek mythology, Antaeus, who gained more strength every time his opponent threw him down.

Peace

Great point!

My dad lives in North Carolina today, but grew up in Louisiana. He agrees with Dr. Paul's stance on the Civil War 100%, and admires him for speaking so honestly about it. I think I'm going to e-mail all of my Louisiana relatives about this, they'd love it too.

At least the female host on

At least the female host on the show (don't know her name ) didn't agree with Shuster calling Paul a crackpot, even though she didn't support Paul's belief on the issue.

Mika Brzezinski

She is Mika Brzezinski, daughter of Zbigniew Brzezinski, former director of the Trilateral Commission and author of Between Two Ages, which declared ‘National sovereignty is no longer a viable concept’, and that ‘Marxism represents a further vital, and creative stage in the maturing of man’s universal vision. Marxism is simultaneously a victory of the external, active man over the inner, passive man, and a victory of reason over belief...’

Backfire

Personally, I am very glad that they are attacking Ron Paul on the issue of the Civil War. Anyone who is versed in history (and probably anyone who was raised in the south) knows that the Civil War had very little to do with slavery. It was about state's rights. Slavery was a clever play by Abraham Lincoln to disguise this fact. Whether or not you agree with Abraham Lincoln's efforts to keep the states unified, it is a fact that slavery was already on its way out in the south. The struggle was over whether or not states had the freedom to separate themselves from the union. I was raised as a Yankee, but even I understand this.

In other words, Ron Paul is right. Between Romney's dissing the confederate flag and FOX news attacking Ron Paul for speaking the truth about the Civil War, I would not be surprised if Ron Paul sweeps the southern states.

So please, media, continue to point out your own lack of education and/or your belief that we the American people are two dumb to see through your lies. When you build your foundation on lies, the truth will rip that foundation out from under you. Ron Paul's foundation is in the truth, and that truth will set us free.

Yeah, right...

And Brazil (with a far more pervasive & brutal system than ours ever was) got rid of it sans a war by...Uh...Waving a magic wand!! That's it! No need to learn about that boring ol' "history" stuff, I can just make s#!t up!!

Yeah neocons are just silly.

Yeah neocons are just silly. When a superior philosophy comes along they laugh at it and call its messenger names instead of becoming smarter.

David Shuster

David Shuster is the political neophytes' name and he came across as a rabid devotee of anyone but Paul. An ignorant, insufferable establishment bot, he should be our latest media victim...

Frank Lutz

said yesterday on C-Span that when people hear this now it actually makes them mad and want to support the person being attacked.
Name calling has the opposite effect. Take that into account with the huckster and huckagee name calling. It works against us.

I know F%$# Your Frank Lutz!! But, this time he did say something worth noting.

It was David Schuster, I'd Love His E-mail Address

This guy needs to read some books by Thomas DiLorenzo. Lincoln revisionism has been the hottest topic in libertarian circles for half a decade.

El Dorado

'The Real Lincoln'

My fourteen year-old, homeschooled daughter is half way through DiLorenzo's expose. Maybe I should have my daughter email Shuster with the unflattering detail...

Leland Thomas Faegre

Your Daughter is Well on Her Way

I’ve read The Real Lincoln as well. I hear DiLorenzo’s follow up book Lincoln Unmasked is even better:

http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo112.html

http://www.mises.org/store/Lincoln-Unmasked-P324C0.aspx?AFID=1

It totally unmasks Lincoln as the racist great centralizer he was. Also, do those Lincoln cult followers know that Abe Lincoln was personally very wealthy before he became President. It seems that being a railroad industry lobbyist was very profitable in the mid 1800’s.

El Dorado

That civil war thing is stupid

Who cares,

I mean which other candidate have they asked about their historical analysis of the causes leading up to the civil war ? I suppose they would all give the fourth grade answer.

I would be surprised if someone would vote for a candidate based on this. Also, it is somehow not Kooky to mention nuking Iran, or that there are millions of Islamo-facists trying to take over the world.

Time is short and

Freedom is not FREE!!

they know it. Right now it is up to us to recruit 5 more people to the r3VOLution by the 31st. Lets go to work people. I intend to talk to at least 5 by the end of the day. How about you.

Freedom is not FREE!!

I care about them

The media is a strong force and they need to know that we are watching them and that we are not going to go away. Maybe they will not change their views but we need to let them know that we are a force to be dealt with and we are not going to let them win. Keep watching and tell them what you think. We may not change them now but sooner or later they will need to work with us.

How can a crackpot deliver 4000 babies ?

Would a husband and wife put their trust in a crackpot to deliver the most precious thing in their lives ?

Who cares about them?

It's too late to worry about the media now. Nothing will change their attitude until Ron Paul wins in Iowa.
