Why Ron Paul will Win in Iowa

Check out my rational and math for Dr. Paul's victory next week - it's at http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_gary_sku_071221_why_...

By the way, the editor at OpEdNews, Rob Kall (a self described progressive), just endorsed Ron Paul for the republican nomination.

Interesting poll

I think the format is striking - RP leads in every state except Utah (Romney) and New York (Giuliani). I'm very anxious to watch next Thursday and see if our internet enthusiasm translates to actual caucus participation.

What does this poll tell us?

I voted in this online poll, check it out:

http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2007/12/21/straw-poll-...

There are now 118K votes - a staggering figure. Ron Paul is of course winning, which I don't think means too much, frankly. But it is very interesting to look at the numbers state by state. I think it gives us a good idea of how many hard core Ron Paul supporters are out there by state. Also, except for Ron Paul, the poll is fairly in line with national/scientific polls. Does this poll show the true hidden Ron Paul support? Or are Ron Paul supporters just that extremely and disproportionately online and organized than the others? Either way, it takes organization and numbers to win real votes so I would say this poll is encouraging.

What do you think?

PS - Look at Hillary's numbers. You would think Obama with the youth/web savvy vote would easily take this poll. Perhaps his support is weaker than we thought.

As much as I'd like to use that "scientific" poll from AOL

It isn't. I've been able to vote twice. They only check your IP to determine unique voters, right? Well, there are quite a large number of people who have 2 computers they use daily. 1 at their office, 1 at home. Therefore, two votes. That's how I did, that's how it can be done.

Now, the argument about 1 IP for a household actually underestimates the vote, because there could be a couple both voting for Ron Paul, and only 1 IP registered.

So all in all, i think that we can learn the following about this (and all) polls:

NOTHING!!!

I have a dream, that it were "illegal" to have presidential polls, etc, because they only reinforce the sheeple mentality. (Granted it would be in direct violation of 1st ammendment - it's a dream, remember!)

"Oh, everyone else is voting for the devil? I don't want to be an outcast! Sign me up!"

I just wish ALL media would just STOP IT with the polling; but alas, it pays the bills, and besides, doing so would require them to actually THINK about the ISSUES instead of herding the sheeple. God forbid we make people think.

"Freedom is contagious. Spread it!"

One Interesting Thing....

If you look at the results, Paul is the only candidate with support that doesn't seem to be "clustered" in certain regions of the country. He seems to be roughly even everyplace - urban vs. rural, north vs. south, east vs. west.

EVERY other candidate has support that is more or less "clumpy" for lack of a better word. Notice how most seem to be showing "dots" around major metro areas. Rudy shows more votes from northeast, whereas Fred shows more votes across the south.
