Total News Blackout - "Main Stream" Media Brainwashing

Do this experiment and draw your own conclusion.

A recent partial audit (thank you, Ron Paul) of the Federal Reserve shows the Fed loaned out $16 trillion to foreign banks and countries over the past three years.

http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/the-looting-of-ame...

$16 trillion is probably the largest amount of "money" ever created in a 3-year period and this is the first-ever audit of the Federal Reserve. So how is the mainstream press reporting on this?

Let's find out.

First, google: "$16 trillion federal reserve"
You will get many pages of relevant hits. As far out as page 35, most of the returns were still relevant, so that's well over 350 stories.

Now for a little Google magic. You may not have known that you can google a subject by website. (Aren't you glad you read this far?) So let's do that for ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX to see how THEY covered this topic. The web sites are:

ABC abcnews.go.com
NBC nbc.com
CBS cbsnews.com
FOX foxnews.com

To google by site, you enter your normal search terms and then add "site: "

So for abcnews.go.com we enter: "$16 trillion federal reserve site:abcnews.go.com"

Try it.

Here are the other three search strings:
$16 trillion federal reserve site:nbc.com
$16 trillion federal reserve site:cbsnews.com
$16 trillion federal reserve site:foxnews.com

How many stories did you find? On all four networks...

Not a single story about the $16 trillion created by the Federal Reserve and shipped off to foreign banks and countries.

Not ONE!

(There is one mention on CBS News - but it's in a comment from a reader.)

Yet there are hundreds of stories about it on the internet (and you can download a copy of the audit report).

How much is $16 trillion? If you put together $16 trillion in $100 bills, it would cover a football field to a depth of about 100 feet. It's more than the entire US National Debt!

One of the most important news stories of the year - total news blackout.

Now THINK. If they're filtering your news that hard on a critical story like this, what else are they not telling you?

And if you only know what the owners of the lamestream press want you to know, aren't you being brainwashed?

K.

My Bad, Yes The Collectivist's Corpses Should Be Offered up For

Trade on the Free market as a final insult.

I stand corrected for offering "free" corpses to all for fertilizer.

I don't want to ever be accused of offering a free collectivist's corpse for every fertilizer pot!

This is getting a wee bit morbid.

The Oracle

Sorry...

The intention was not to exaggerate the problem, but to point out that, whatever the amount, there doesn't seem to be ANY coverage by the major networks.

We've had endless hooplah about increasing the debt limit by $2.4 trillion. Why nothing about the first audit of the Fed?

Further

and again, I second your point of not turning into Michelle Bachman and saying things that are simply not true.

If I lend you 500MM for one week and you roll that over each week for 3 months, have I lent to you 500MM or 3B? Think about it and see if you can see the difference and also how some of the figures in the audit get blown out of proportion.

We shouldn't be lending the foreign banks anything, but lets not go off the deep end, ok?

All of the banksters are considered foreigners, IMO.

Anyone who would do this to their own countrymen should be tried for both treason and crimes against humanity. They should not be considered a citizen of this country.

The word "foreigner" is just a relative term is this case. It is still $16T.

KurtA, thank you. Yours is a most astute

and helpful activist post. I hope it gets picked up and republished by a broad spectrum of political sites -- and maybe even some of the rare honest voices in the mainstream media. Do you have a website where it can be linked? Or is the DP OP the best link to use? I'll happily use it on my website and f.b.

Feel free...

... to use the info any way you like.

I just posted it here.

Good catch.

Our society is based upon greed, theft and hypocrisy.

Yes, it is. And some more than others...

Koch industries has been responsible for hundreds of oil spills and other various pollution, they have been charged in court and found guilty of fraud, falsifying documents and breaking environmental law through extensive toxic waste dumping and pollution. They lobbied the government successfully including financial donations to politicians, and thus fines/jail time were either reduced or eliminate altogether.
Clinton went after them with another 97 charges of benzene release again, this time with a 350 million dollar fine and executives faced 35 years in prison. The laundry list read long on falsified documents, breaking environmental laws, dumping Benzene anywhere they chose to in their sense of entitlement. The final tab was only a 21 million dollar fine for what will be millions of dollars to clean up after the dirty Koch Brothers pollution and violations.

www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread693270/pg2

But it is not easy to get the details on the extent of the "Kochtopus" tentacles. They funnel money through 501c3 tax-exempt foundations, and they give money to other foundations, lobbying organizations, and right wing think tanks. They have PACs; they support candidates. Only a small portion of what they control do they divulge. And it has now come out how involved they have been in funding Tea Party groups, Americans for Prosperity, FreedomWorks, and Citizens for a Sound Economy ($12 million).

Media propaganda doing what

Media propaganda doing what media propaganda does best.

Stop being so surprised and start diverting our primary focus to fighting it. No matter what else you focus on, if we don't win the propaganda war it will be impossible to win any other war on any other issue or topic.

You betcha!

A recent segment of 'Koch Brothers Exposed' examined the vast cottage industry comprised of Koch brothers' spokespeople, front groups, thinktanks, academics and elected officials, all together forming a self-sustaining echo chamber used to transform fringe ideas into popular mainstream public policy arguments, in order to privatize public policy.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/cifamerica/2011/jun/......
Unsurprisingly, Murdoch owned Fox News was a key outlet through which they could accomplish this.
Such pooling of power and control has caused our political and journalistic institutions to lose integrity and to move away from the service they should provide to society. At what point do we say enough to such ideological conglomerate control of journalism, not to mention our very freedom?

Second: The Koch Brothers are a RED HERRING. When Bush was in office we hear all about Haliburton. Haliburton is still supporting troops with supplies for wars, but so is Bechtel, GE, Westinghouse, Ford, Boeing, Hughes, TRW, on and on...

The Koch Brothers, own the Mendocino Headlands, they purchased in 2002. Since that time, Fort Bragg and the County of Mendocino have been very active detoxing the old Georgia-Pacific lumber mill site and encouraging the locals to create and name parks, coastal trail, name the places, the bay, the hill, the caves, maybe the airport..

Every now and then someone like me says, "Hey, don't the Koch's own that and isn't it their right to do what they want? Yep. Teh Kochs are doing what they want. The Kochs are Libertartians and not globalists like Haliburton, Bechtel, and etc. The Kochs are making a contribution to THE people and giving THE people every opportunity to do something with something. They "privatized" in giving the responsibilty of distribution TO the government.. the City of Fort Bragg is conducting the tours and plans and awards and channeling ideas and dreams. We've had numberous bus rides and trail walks and seminars and five years of the Koch's being in touch with our community, though, many in the community have no idea the Koch's OWN the property, just like many here don't know AIG and Bank of America began right here. People think this is Liberal La La Land. It's not. It's Libertarian Land and why we grow Medical Marijuana.

I hope the Kochs open some form of industry, like a mill of some kind for people to rebuild and trade natural products. I applaud the Kochs for going where I've not seen Haliburton and Bechtel go.

I'd like to know, why is it just the Koch brothers you have a beef? I'm not a big Koch or industrail empire fan, but I'm also aware, the Kochs are way better than many others, whom you never mention, and I have several times now.

Sorry about that, granger!

And thanks for the heads up. Here's a few more links for you to try :)

Koch Industries – which

Koch Industries – which produces, transports and trades oil, coal and chemicals – has spent millions of dollars funding politicians, think tanks, foundations and political groups that have sought to either make the public doubt climate change or oppose climate change legislation directly. Koch has often been described as one of the country’s largest polluters.

The Keystone XL pipeline would carry the dirtiest oil on Earth through one of America's most important aquifers, six states and almost 2,000 miles of American homes and farmland. While oil billionaires like the Koch brothers stand to gain from the approval of such a project, it puts the American people's safety at risk.

During the 1990s, faults in Koch Industry pipelines were responsible for more than 300 oil and chemical spills in five states, prompting a landmark penalty of $35 million from the EPA. In Minnesota, it was fined an additional $8 million for discharging oil into streams.
During the months leading up to the 2000 presidential elections, the company faced even more liability, in the form of a 97-count federal indictment charging it with concealing illegal releases of 91 metric tons of benzene, a known carcinogen, from its refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. The company faced liability for three hundred and fifty million dollars in fines, and four Koch employees faced up to thirty-five years in prison.
After George W. Bush became president the U.S. Justice Department dropped 88 of the charges. Two days before the trial, John Ashcroft settled for a plea bargain, in which the company pled guilty to falsifying documents. All major charges were dropped, and Koch and Ashcroft settled the lawsuit for a fraction of that amount.
David Uhlmann, a career prosecutor who, at the time, headed the environmental-crimes section at the Justice Department, described the suit as one of the most significant cases ever brought under the Clean Air Act.

Thank you, Granger, for your objective,

factual reply. Let us hope it finally opens a biased mind.

Shall I continue?

I guess so...

Koch Industries, the private company of the billionaire Koch brothers, is one of the primary sources of carbon pollution in the United States. However, the actual emissions profile of the diversified giant, with its oil and gas, chemicals, cattle, forestry, and synthetics holdings, is unknown, because of the lack of mandatory carbon reporting in the United States.
Furthermore, Koch is exempt from the risk disclosures that are standard for public corporations. The financial status of Koch Industries is similarly clouded in secret, with only vague statements of annual revenue around $100 billion and the Forbes estimates of the principals’ extraordinary wealth. Charles and David Koch have directed many millions of their shared $43 billion net worth into a vast propaganda machine denying the threat of global warming pollution, corrupting American politics to permit their pollution-based enterprise to continue.

Koch Climate Denial Is Dirty Self Interest. The virulence of the Koch brothers’ opposition to climate policy “ to anything that would make polluters instead of society pay for the cost of their pollution “ is purely a matter of self-interest. The immense profitability of their carbon holdings depends on their freedom to pollute without consequence “ a toxic freedom they have sold to the American public, and particularly the Tea Party faithful organized by the various Koch front groups, as inherent to the American dream. If their pollution was fairly priced in a free-market system such as the cap-and-trade markets the Koch successfully demonized in Washington (but failed in their attempt to do so in California), the Kochs would be facing costs of anywhere from $1 billion to $40 billion a year. Spending well less than $1 billion a year on their political and philanthropic activities, the Kochs have made a brilliant investment to defend their killer business model.

What a load of nonsense!

"Koch Industries, the private company of the billionaire Koch brothers, is one of the primary sources of carbon pollution in the United States. "

Carbon is not pollution.

Re-examine the fundamentals, you have got them all wrong.

They've convinced

many. You're not the first, and you won't be the last.

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) brings together corporations from Koch Industries to Coca-Cola, conservative state legislators, and rightwing think tanks to fabricate model bills that advance their common interests: reduce government regulation and taxes; increase the transfer of wealth from average Americans to the super rich. ALEC working groups, research memos and draft bills push for predatory lending and against EPA regulating greenhouse gases, for restricting access to voting and against living-wage standards for workers. A treasure trove of 800 model bills has just been uncovered by the Center for Media and Democracy, and the Los Angeles Times provides good examples of how the bills ripple through state legislatures, often without being linked to the shadowy organization – but they’re backed up with millions in campaign contributions by ALEC members.

You dont understand

This isnt an argument, none of that has anything to do with the issue. An element which occurs naturally and always has occured naturally in the environment is not pollution, period. Even if the levels are unusually high, even if this were clearly causing problems - that still wouldnt make it pollution.

The first step to clear thinking is to understand the words you are using. And you dont.

Would it

be o.k. with you if I copied this and post to some forums I go to? I will give you credit.
