2012 candidate comparison chart, tool to inform voters on issues

First off, I would love some feedback on the this. Thanks Treg for the suggestion and inspiration.

All right, as promised I've been doing a little necessary research on the candidates and have come up with this basic flyer just in time for the Iowa Straw Poll. I would suggest its distribution to all in attendance as it has the positions of each major Republican candidate who will be voted for as compared with Obama.

This iteration is the flyer with the answers. The reverse could include blank form or citations for answers depending on how this could be used. I have also been thinking that if anyone has any events where voting will be taking place, a large version of something like this can be used to attract people to your Ron Paul table as the blank questionaire can be dispersed near the entrance to build interest (a note reading, "get answers to questions at the Ron Paul booth" can lure folks in).

Either way please help make the information on this as accurate as possible.
Note: astericks for clarification on position/ lack of record / contradictory statements, to be updated.

quick glance reveals spelling errors; mormon once right once not; marriages; healthcare looks wrong

10-15 million more voters need to believe in non-interventionism (liberty) at home and abroad to change America. Minds changed on Syria. Minds changing on privacy. "Printing money" is part of the dialogue. Win minds through focus, strategy.

Patriot Act

should be an issue on this

Banemaler; Cool beans! Can you change it a little?

Please consider putting OBAMA in the 1st Column. Then
place Ron Paul in the 2nd column, then Johnson in the 3rd, then Romney 4th, the Bachman 5th, then Perry, Pawlenty, Cain Gingrich, Santorum, Huntsman. --- there is a real reason for this, much too long to explain here. Just try it and you will see what I mean.

Next, if you can, add a field called "For raising the debt ceiling" and flatten out Job Experience so you can read it.

Good going!

How about making it:

How about making it: Occupation before entering politics.

Also, I would probably drop # of marriages to the last line rather than the first.

I'd color-code it,

I'd color-code it, highlighting all of the "good" responses in green.

Freedom Wins!

Yes, Tell the voter this is a good answer with a color

good idea.

nice work

nice work

Thanks BaneMaler, great job...

you might also want to include their position on the Patriot Act / TSA sexual assault issue.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

thanks for doing this

this can really help a lot of folks cut through all of the ads and propaganda.

Nice job Bane...

good example of doing something instead of suggesting others do it.

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

Just

my opinion, but except for Bachmann once having been a Democrat, what differences are you showing between her and Ron Paul? I also would have Ron Paul FIRST on the chart...

Big Gov't, Tax & Spend, Anti-Liberty, Constitutional Enemy: Bachmann:

O.P.O.G.G. - Fighting the attempted devolution of the rEVOLution
Ron Paul 2012...and beyond
BAN ELECTRONIC VOTING!!

He does list her former

He does list her former occupation as an IRS Attorney. That definitely takes her down about a million pegs in my book. What that will mean to your average voter is not at all clear.... unfortunately.

Not sure it's accurate

but I've been referring to her at IRS agent/attorney just to make clear which side she was on. Some, including me, might at first thinks she was an attorney defending people against the IRS.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

To be clear, I usually say

"she was a federal tax litigator for the IRS" with an emphasis on the "for"...

...then I say, "so basically, she worked for the IRS and took on tax-payers, yeah, not good"..

:)

ln

I think the order is good...

they're in alphabetical... putting Paul first would have shown bias from the get go...

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

You got it!

You want to make sure that you are not catering to any candidate, allowing the records to stand off. Now my idea with the larger chart at the Ron Paul table could better highlight the best candidate in the race. You can imagine the positions held by both the President and the candidate could be highlighted in red making RP's standout. You also do not need a long list as you want people to look at it and touch on a few layers of contention with the voters. Again, if there is an issue that exposes 4th amendment violations that WILL sway voters from any candidate then let me know. Did Bachmann vote for more TSA groping? Does the PATRIOT Act vote matter to GOP voters? Is there another issue that is essential for this list?

Perry on TARP

I'm curious where Perry said he was for TARP? I"m not doubting you but I would like to see a video or transcript..Thanks and this was very helpful.

Good observation but the issue is nuanced

In the Governors race last year this was brought up. When congress was faced with the vote, Perry sent out a letter to Texas leaders stating they had to act which read to many as Perry's endorsement of the Presidents and republican bailout plan. He later said that was not what he meant by the letter but the damage was done. Again, a lot of these folks are hard to pin down because they have no principles to refer to and in Perry's place he says his letter meant to cut taxes/spending instead of pass the bill being debated. But this sounds like a case of Perry for it before he was against it. Most of those listed as supporting TARP are for it before they were against it types.

Here's some videos, that can even be front pagers at some point:

I'm sure there's a perfectly obvious

way to see the photobucket image in a readable size, but I could not see how to do it.
