You must all SIGN UP to become RON PAUL DELEGATES. Delegates is what counts friends of liberty. The GOP Convention will dictate who wins the GOP Nomination and without Ron Paul Delegates we lose, they win!
Don't be afraid to become a delegate. Just voting for Ron Paul is not enough. You can't move the carriage without the horse..

One thing I hear alot of when
One thing I hear alot of when it comes to being a delegate is that if the party finds out that your backing Ron Paul that you will be moved back to an alt... Now my question is how are they finding out who your voting for...!? Now come on you guys and girls, the party has been lying and cheating us for many yrs now and your saying that for one election we can't do the same...? It's simple people, "tell them what they want to hear"...!!!

# 1 : You must be a registered republican in most states.
# 2 : The rules to become a delegate vary from district and county, you must obtain your bylaws to see what your area requires you to become a delegate. Many cases you just need to register to become a delegate, that simple. Some areas try to make it extremely complictaed to keep the avg joe citizen out of the way.
# 3 : In some cases delegates are elected by the members of your local party, in many other cases there are not enough people that register to become a delegate so your area may allow you to be a delegate just by simply you apply to become a delegate.
# 4 : You must learn roberts rules of order, this is a must, roberts rules is the language used during conventions and meetings, if you don't understand roberts rules you will be at an extreme disadvantage.
# 5 : You must show up to every delegate meeting, if you do not, you could and probably will lose your spot as a delegate and your spot will go to an alternate delegate. You must stay inm it until the end.
# 6 : If all of your delegates slots are filled, you need to register to become an alternate delegate, the alternates will obtain the spot of a delegate should the delegate not show up for a meeting and the alternate will take their place as a delegate.
# 7 : To become a delegate you must contact your local chairman or officer(s) of the party and ask for the form to register to become a delegate. Make a copy of your signed application for your own records.
# 8 : I encourage everyone who is not a delegate to become one NOW, some of you have probably already missed your chance to ceome a delegate because the registration process has ended, call your chairman tomorrow.

This is at least the 3rd post about this, I made 1. It not only
is impt. to be come a delegate, but to make sure your state Republican Party is fertile ground for receiving Ron Paul, welcome to him, will follow the rules & ALLOW his delegates into the National Convention. I would suggest you start saving NOW for this, as in putting federal reserve notes aside. If you must become elected at the ballot, not at your caucus or state convention, you need to be prepared to get elected just as a candidate does, t-shirts, yard signs, whatever it takes. You might need to do these things at your convention as well, delegate spots are pretty contentious, sought after. You should be VERY WELL VERSED in Roberts Rules of Order to become a delegate & not be a weakling. You might have to be VERY ASSERTIVE at the National Convention, you might get pushed aside, shoved, told to shut-up, sit down. You have to be prepared to be affirmative, stand your ground, convince other delegates. Please make sure you send those from your state that can handle it. Raise funds if you have to for the right person/ people. The National Convention is nothing to play around with and its a one-time occasion. You must also be prepared, to the extent you can, to document what goes on at your state convention, video taping/ photographing. You will need evidence if the rules are broken. It would be nice, ideal, if ALL the State Republican Party leaders, including National got on the radio & committed to following the rules, playing fair.
For some reason, we're expected to know every law that exists in America & in our state so we don't break it. We're supposed to know this when we're 18. There's no litmus test for them, as in the 10 commandments or rhyme or reason. C.U.R.E.

For my state - you need to do nothing but the RP campaign staff need to be on the ball to assure that if he wins WI he selects the delegates that will vote for him.

What's The Best Way...
to become a delegate in Virginia and I guess if you are a Virginia delegate, then you are also a national delegate, correct? If I'm not mistaken, Virginia is an open primary meaning that anyone can vote regardless of party affiliation. But do you have to be registered as a Republican if you want to be a delegate in VA?
Also, it is good that this is getting started early. Earlier the better, build up your delegate base now so that we can win later.

In some States, the delegates can literally write the rules. This happened in Nevada and was leading to a RP victory. At that point they illegally shut down the convention and the national GOP had to pick people.
Four years ago in isolated areas RP was winning. This time we can do this country-wide. We need to get registered Republican and show up!

Every state is different. I was a delegate to the state convention in AR (2008) , BUT there were no delegates for Ron. I was his supporter there, but the people who became delegates to national were for Huckabee and McCain. There had to be a certain amount of votes before any delegates were chosen for that.
