The White House Warns Rick Perry Against Threatening The Fed

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) appears to be taking a cue from Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) and criticizing the Federal Reserve for doing what it was designed to do: creating currency.

At a recent fundraising event in Iowa, Perry was asked how he feels about the Fed and chairman Ben Bernanke. ‘If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dunno what y’all would do with him in Iowa, but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas. Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treasonous in my opinion.”

What he’s referring to is a Fed practice known as quantitative easing, where central banks inject additional currency into the economy in times of low activity by purchasing assets from other banks. The policy is meant to keep economic activity high when recession conditions might otherwise prevail, but it also increases the price of bank holdings.

You Know The Comment Is Hitting On The Truth

when the progressive Neo-cons, Marxist MSM, and Keynesian Intelligentsia statists all come out against the treason statement.

Perry is fooling no one.

Rick Perry’s Campaign Strategy: Become Ron Paul

Texas Governor Rick Perry has shown his hand immediately. His presidential campaign strategy consists of attempting to steal away Ron Paul supporters while the mainstream media aids him by refusing to even acknowledge Paul exists.

Perry entered the presidential race on Friday and was instantly hailed by the corporate controlled media as a “top tier” candidate. Meanwhile, Ron Paul was busy romping home to a historic vote total in the Iowa straw poll, coming second only to a phony tea party wannabe in Michelle Bachmann, who could only beat Paul by buying 4000 votes.

As Jon Stewart painstakingly points out, the establishment media is manifestly engaged in a concerted effort to completely ignore Paul. Indeed, establishment media talking heads admitted what we’ve been highlighting from the very start – that there is a deliberate policy to sideline and discredit Paul’s campaign.

Perry, on the other hand, is certainly not ignoring Paul, if his recent “attack” on Ben Bernanke is anything to go by.

Speaking in Iowa yesterday, Perry said,

Follow me on Twitter for breaking news from a libertarian perspective

I support Perry's statement fully.

Counterfeiting money IS treasonous.

And now the republican establishment is lashing out against Perry's statement (like the IDIOT Laura Ingram and The ROTTED BASTARD Karl Rove) which PROVES that his statement was correct.

Don't get me wrong - Perry is taking a cue from Dr. Paul but the great thiing is when have you ever heard another condidate (Other than Ron Paul) even mention the FED as being a problem.

When Romney was asked about the FED some months ago he claimed "I'm not going to question the FED. Ben Bernanke is doing the best job he believes he can do."

Why didn't he just say that he doesn't understand monetary policy?

Once again - I support Perry's bashing of Bernanke and I also support his statement (as did Dr. Paul) some months ago when he claimed Texas had the right to cecede from the union if the federal government interfered with them too much.

I find it very interesting how the republican establishment media DID NOT like hs statement against Bernanke.

By the way - the White House can take their warning and shove it. Perry had every right to make that statement.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

That's becuase, like most politicians..he only shills for votes.

He only says what he does to get "votes", and Perry's record of course proves the opposite. Voting for everything unconstitutional under the sun including TARP, NAFTA, the bailouts, and most if not all of Obama's handouts.

He's just another lying shill for votes? I see nothing common sense in his approach at all.

This is all a very badly done Hollywood movie....

Of course Obama, the commie, comments on his favorite commie across the way Rick Perry - and attacks him, all while ignoring the Straw Poll entirely.

It would make perfect sense. Obama and Perry are blood brothers. They've both fooled an awful lot of cattle sheep, - voters...to try to co-opt the Tea Party. They've both sold their souls to the same proverbial witch too!

Do you smell a Ricbama...

So this article is important and I would like to point out the fact that Rick Perry is playing with politics to win over some tea party folks. I know most of us are nice people and want to say oh maybe he's coming our way. But I also know most of us are not stupid and will not easily fall for this kinda of tricks. I do fear other people will. Just like Obama lied about ending the war, Ricky Perry is lying about hating the fed. Obama promise to end the war. No war ended. Same thing will happen with Perry as well. We must make thus clear to the rest of the world. So we do not get fool again.

Ric Bama smells like Trump Bama too

Im gonna make photoshop of this GOP coup that Ric Bama is pulling.

Perry Uses Fed Money to Bailout Texas

According to this link, Perry used Fed bailout money to help balance Texas budget. Is it only wrong to print money if it doesn't go to Texas?

this is an OBVIOUS ploy to get Perry media coverage as a tough-talking, I-won't-back-down, rough-riding, Teddy Roosevelt kind of candidate. He accepts $13M of stimulus money from QE2 for Texas, and just a few short weeks later threatens the Fed if they print more money?

It's ALL posing for the brain-fogged public.

I'll give as much respect to my elected officials as they give to the Constitution!

Exactly what both sides would

Exactly what both sides would like. Everyone else will be lulled back to sleep.

The issue I see here that is

The issue I see here that is more significant than stealing Ron's position, is the "opposition" condemning him and calling him irresponsible. Appears to me that the two sides are conspiring to create the candidate they would prefer the people focus on.

Been waiting

I've been waiting for this crap. It sure didn't take long. Snippets and sound bites of Ron Pauls positions on the FED, money printing, etc. Go back and look at any of their speeches prior to Ames...you'll not find Rick pArry ever talk about the FED I'll bet. If anything I'd love to see a ton of stuff where he supports them. What a joke.

Don't worry

the REAL power players/puppet masters (and they're not in the W.H.) have surely let Perry know who's in charge. Perry's just talkin' tough to put on a good show for potential voters. He's already owned.

Tickets to the circus anyone?

i dont understand this headline

the white house didn't do anything.

The Whitehouse did reprimand

The Whitehouse did reprimand him, but the article doesn't mention it.

The implication is that Perry thinks it is OK for the FED

to print money, just not before the election, like even that would help the economy and Obama.

Perry is not a sound money proponent.

This Is So Comedic

Rick Perry said that the fed would be meet like it was a shoot out if Bernake was in Texas but Rick Perry doesn't want to end it. To top that the White House is playing this game with Perry as if he is the real threat to the fed and that the fed must be protected even though Rick Perry did not say anything threatening about it. He can call it treasonous but he never said that he wants to get rid of it. While the White House is playing this political football they are not angry and threatening Ron Paul for him being anti fed as in getting rid of the fed unlike Gingrich's suddenly found idea to audit the fed.

Live Free or Die

Here's a commentary on Rick

Here's a commentary on Rick Perry... He's just a slicker establishment shill.

And to add to her comments, he also attended Bilderberg so I don't think he's being too sincere about goin' after da Fed...

How would Rick Perry react

How would Rick Perry react during a campaign rally if his "supporters" took his recent criticism a step further and began chanting "End the Fed" ?

Only the acceptance of the truth can defeat systemic evil.

We won the very first online straw poll at the Iowa Caucus

with 44% Cain 2nd 16% Bachmann 3rd 10%

They Don't Quack, Crap or Walk Like Ron Paul

That's Funny, they don't look like Ron Paul...Neocon Garbage Pails..

White House pretends to warn Rick Perry

against pretending to threaten the Fed. They're all acting just to keep up the public illusion that the two parties are opposed to each other. Perry is acting to dupe tea partiers into voting for him but he's been groomed to maintain the unbroken chain of White House fealty to the global elites.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

They're trying to steal Ron Pauls issues

The problem is this is all a fake contrived game they are playing. New Ron Paul supporters may now look at Perry and Bachmann (who also criticized the fed earlier according to Drudgereport) and say something like "they dont like the fed either, no difference between the two there". Of course Ron Paul has a long record of criticizing the feds policies when Perry and Bachmann started today lol.

We need to make an ad that says "Michele Bachman conservative?tea party patriot? She received over 250,000 dollars in subsidies for her privately owned farm and now she rails against the monetary policy which enabled her subsidies?"

Further proof, we're winning the minds of fellow Americans

Of course these two plan to do nothing about the fed if they get elected. We have to just post on facebook, or whatever social media you use and on the comment section of the stories that they are parroting Ron Paul and hes on record of introducing legislation and has spent his whole political career trying to rein the fed.
