Delegate selection depends on party rules in your state

In Michigan last summer a state GOP meeting was key, not the sec of state. There were plenty of precinct delegate vacancies, RP supporters started expressing interest, & then the GOP met and made rules saying new delegates could not vote until after the 08 election. Dayam!

Too late for Michigan but each state is different. Some primaries are scheduled late -- May in Indiana, I think. Your state's party leadership should be able to answer this, or start with the Ron Paul campaign HQ in your state if there is one. With some pundits saying the GOP nomination could go to convention for the first time since 1952, even later primaries seem important now.

I got choked up, thinking how right the narrator was, when he said that Ron Paul supporters will have to use stealth to become delegates. This is what America has come to: the public has become so hostile to the idea individual liberty as espoused by the founders, that we are forced to resort to a type of infiltration to reclaim that legacy!

Don't feel bad though; America will thank us when this is all over. This is a revolution in the truest sense, and we are the new Patriots! Become a delegate and help overthrow big-government!

OK, just *how* do we become delegates? I've googled and ready PDFs, links, blogs, etc. But there doesn't appear to be any good guide out there?

And, is there enough time? I read one site that implied January is the deadline. Well, that's about 4 days from now...

Can anybody help make sense of this?

I wish someone who fully understands the delegate process would make a "How To Become a Delegate For Dummies" video. That's what I need. Am I a dummy? I didn't used to think so but maybe I am. Actually, I think it's just that the delegate process is so mind-numbingly BORING that I have difficulty focusing on it long enough to learn how to participate in it. I've donated $1000 to the RP campaign to date. I lead a Meetup group. My car has RP stuff all over it. So, it's not that I'm not a major RP supporter or don't really care. It's just that the red tape of the delegate process hurts my brain and makes my eyes glaze over!

A fully detailed video that is simple enough that a two-year old can understand it -- and with some humor thrown in (or a bikini swimsuit) -- would be great!

Maybe Rachel Mills could tackle this one? Or Liv the "Ron Paul Girl?"

Please....someone....help me (and those like me) who are cursed with DADD -- Delegate Attention Deficit Disorder!

You're a dummy!!! So am I!!! I'm tryin' though. Gotta read and find out how to become a delegate. Never realized that my vote didn't count for much at all. I've asked many, many people about this delegate thing and NO ONE knows the answers. Gotta lota dummies out here.
