GOP Presidential Hopeful Ron Paul to Address National Press Club, Oct. 5

"The National Press Club is the world's leading professional organization for journalists with more than 3,400 members worldwide representing every major news organization." (http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/gop-presidential-hop...)

Sounds like it could be a big deal... Has the media been shamed into throwing Ron Paul a bone?

That is also the date

of the FEC 3rd quarter reporting deadline.

If I were to speculate, I would be inclined to think that the support (donations) for the Paul campaign are way up.

Doh! I'm sure you are right...

of course - maybe he is putting pressure on us to get the funds up ;)

Right

I wonder if the 'blind' money bombs are netting more?

I hope we get a ticker for tomorrow's event ...it's really cool getting info to complete the candidate/supporters loop.

This is interesting... should we speculate?

I don't see this being event-oriented (doesn't seem to be anything going on around that time).

I can't see it being just to bitch and moan about the press.

But, if he was going third party - wouldn't sooner be better than later?

Instead of battling Republicans - he could turn his sights on Obama.

He could save lots of cash - or at least spend it differently (building a party instead of fighting for the nomination).

Avoids criticism and legal aspects of going third party after primaries.

He could start the true Tea Party (not by name)...

Of course - he would miss out on all the debates... which is currently one of the best ways to get his ideas into the mainstream...

I doubt this, but include it for fun: I saw Paul say once that he had thought about running as a democrat (might have been old video)... Maybe Ralph Nader recruited Ron to run against Obama in the primaries (something, in general, that Nader promised to do).

Kinda ironic:

The Press Club is on the 13th floor, 529 14th Street, NW, Washington, D.C.

Ron Paul Press Event

Don't know when this was announced, but the event is already sold out.

Crowd present

I hope that a good number of Paul supporters got tickets before they sold out, because the hooked-in reporters present would be delighted to report about a poorly received Paul speech. I can picture them jeering every non-statist sentence that Paul utters, then reporting on the event from an allegedly objective position.

I'm thinking about going and standing outside with a Ron Paul sign.
