Guest host is that David Shuster dude who trashed Ron Paul yesterday on Tucker. Should be interesting if RP know about him trashing him and he confronts him head on. .. can't wait for this. I really hope he calls this fool out.

Davis said that RP may challenge him and it should be fun.. let's see this one.

Seymour (Sy) Myron Hersh (born April 8, 1937 Chicago) is an American Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist and author based in Washington, DC. He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker magazine on military and security matters.

His work first gained worldwide recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. His 2004 reports on the US military's mistreatment of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison gained much attention.

Hersh received the 2004 George Polk Award for Magazine Reporting[1] given annually by Long Island University to honor contributions to journalistic integrity and investigative reporting. This was his fifth George Polk Award, the first one being a Special Award given to him in 1969.

In 2006 he reported on the US military's plans for Iran, which allegedly called for the use of nuclear weapons against that country.[2]

You can tell Dr Paul is getting stronger and stronger every day. He was correct in stating that the neo-cons still want to attack Iran. If you listen to the Administration, media comments and even some of the Presidential candidates they STILL (even after the intelligence report) are saying that Iran is a threat with their nuclear power program. The media is picking and chosing what they report on when in reality Dr Paul is correct. The neo-cons have pushed the intelligence report aside and continue to state that Iran is still the biggest threat this country faces today.

Don't get upset by these interviewers because with Dr Paul responding to their allegations, he comes out on the top again. The American people are seeing through all of the media propaganda. RON PAUL REVOLUTION!

Ron Is Right Again

Lincoln did not have to fight the Southern States. Lincoln was ill prepared to be President, he had less experience than Barack Obama.

To those of you who do not believe Ron Paul talking about this makes sense, you probably don't live in the South.

Thank you for allowing Ron Paul to clarify his Civil War comment. Some reporters seem to have taken the opportunity of his arguing against the "common knowledge" to discredit the doctor.

I believe that Lincoln did not fight the Civil War primarily to free the slaves, but primarily to keep citizens from leaving a government that they no longer felt represented them.

Had Lincoln been all about freedom, he
- wouldn't have waited a year and a half for the Emancipation Proclamation
- wouldn't have freed slaves only in the Confederate states
- would have allowed the South to secede after freeing the slaves so that both the slaves and the South could have been free.

That slavery was abolished certainly advances human freedom, but the historical argument is that emancipation was a side-effect. The war only justifies the bloodiest war in our history if you believe:
1) that America was the one and only country that couldn't abolish slavery without mass murder and
2) that Lincoln's primary motivation to prosecute that war was to end slavery.
Both of these beliefs, in my opinion, are erroneous.

The more far-reaching legacy of the Civil War was, ironically, to increase tyranny and decrease overall human freedom. It contradicted our own Declaration of Independence, replacing it with the precedence that free men had no right, and should be killed if they tried, to leave a government that they no longer believed represented them.

Those dead died, not "in vain", but for the greater control of a central government over its citizens. The Civil War's unfortunate result was to cause "government of the people, by the people, and for the people" to "perish from the earth".

Our government's incessant mythification of the reason for the Civil War is similar to the myths that have been fabricated for the Iraqi War. History is written by the winners, so I hope Ron Paul wins. Otherwise, my great-great-grandchild will be arguing with your great-great-grandchild that Iraq War had nothing to do with 9/11 or with weapons of mass destruction.

Right on! The south had the right to secede; it was constitutional for them to secede. I sure wish a state would secede today. (I won't be able to say that after S 1959 passes).
