Very nice piece here and fair regarding the coverage of Ron Paul's ever growing campaign.

HAHA

The more they cover this issue the worse they look imo. ie. they really do not seem too convincing. Once you shatter a mirror it is impossible to put it back together again.

They missed two layers of deception...

This discussion on Fox news missed two further layers of deception with the object of burying the Ron Paul campaign before the Iowa Caucses:

1) "We can't cover him because he's not electable." isn't simply "unfair" -- its a bald faced lie as polls and prediction markets have shown:

http://laboratoryofthestates.org/cgi-bin/electability

2) The electability polls have started excluding Ron Paul from the list of Republican candidates they pit against Obama. They simply don't want to know this fact because they know it flies in the face of their excuse for not covering Ron Paul. This isn't simply "chattering classes" following fashion. Its malign neglect of everything the press supposedly stands for, from reporting the news to maximizing profits for their stockholders.

If you read nothing else, read this: A Contract Between Americans

Both good points

That "chattering class" conclusion really got to me too. Why are people voting this up? I guess it's better than most media coverage we get, but it's still bad.

Of Course They Are Ignoring Him...Duh!!

Blah, blah, blah..But nothing is going to change. They'll just keep marginalizing him while they comment about how little coverage he is getting...Blah, blah, blah..

They Say, too old, can't raise enough money, nobody knows who he is, he's kookie, a fring candidate..

All lies, all bull. So what's going to change? Meanwhile, the country is going down the toilet as the 'status quo'goes around repeating everything that Ron Paul is saying and not really understsnding the meaning of it..Just parrot him. Blah, blah, blah..

Beam me up Scottie....I want to go home!

Just parroting him?

Can you say, "Plagiarism," boys and girls?

Freedom is my Worship Word!

This is a White Wash

She is confusing Ron and Rand & distorting the "reason." She calls Ron 'Rand' at 1:25

Fox then cherry picks the worst quote from the article, a "throw-the-baby-out-with-the-bathwater" quote and essentially takes it out of context of the entire article:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/ct-met-kass-08...

How about the title of the article? No, Fox doesn't want the people to see that:

Why the media likely ignores presidential hopeful Ron Paul A possible reason: He's dangerous to the status quo

Or the conclusion of the article:

Paul is dangerous to the status quo.

Fox concludes that the media ignoring Ron Paul is just the latest fashion or style of the chattering class rather than the obvious truth of the article they chose to misquote, that Ron Paul is, in fact, dangerous to the status quo.

Ron Paul is sly like a fox

He is carefully orchestrating his campaign and this is all part of the grand scheme. He will end up getting more publicity and continue distancing himself from the status quo, which is a brilliant strategy as the market collapses, etc.

Wise Man Ron!!!!

Baby and dirty water

The idiot quote is more propaganda.

RP would effectively end the Fed (throw the dirty water out), and by legalizing gold and silver (putting fresh water back in) the tub, he'd make the baby (our economy) infinitely better.

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

I did not like this talk at

I did not like this talk at all. I did not like the quote they quoted nor the guy who said that. I think if they can not report real truth on our campaign, maybe it is best if they just keep their mouths shut.

It hurts my brain

to see Fox talking about MSM ignoring RP, and then they won't admit that they are probably the most responsible for the media blackout. I haven't heard a Fox pundit mention the post debate polls that Ron completely dominated. I haven't heard them make the slightest mention of his high numbers in state polls. They don't mention his campaign earnings. When they do have him on to speak, they waste precious air time asking him what he thinks about the positions of his oft tauted opponents instead of asking him relevant things. BTW, if you do make it down to Fox HQ in NYC, be prepared to have your picture taken by security, without your permission. My boss walked up to security and asked if a host would be willing to talk to him, security said no, snapped a picture of him and told him to leave the premises.

Man..that really bothers me.

Man..that really bothers me. I think I would have had to say something like: You just took my picture without my consent, who do I talk to to make sure you do not USE it for anything without my consent.

So last week

Who cares!

We are still relegated to "commentaries"

Ron Paul: The Peace Candidate

Come on guys (and gals). There's enough evidence to suggest that those pesky peacenik candidates that ever achieved real power were successfully neutralized. Think about this: If John Lennon was alive today, who do you think he would endorse for President? It'd either be Obama or Ron Paul. How about John Kennedy? Robert Kennedy? They'd probably swing Democrat, but with Ron Paul being a legit peace candidate, he would've gotten MLK's endorsement. My point is that the government (and media) have had a long standing policy of simply neutralizing peace candidates since the 1960s and 1970s. Unless you really consider all of these acts to be random events. RFK Jr. expressed his interest in joining politics prior to his flight accident which killed him before Bush's 2nd election. Call me a nut - I don't care. If you had the "power to the people" candidates still alive, not only would our college campuses be on fire, but Ron Paul would be leading in the polls significantly.

The government (and its corporate sponsors) neutralize peace candidates. They've learned well from Vietnam. You think they don't have a file on Representative Paul? Come on. They're waiting for him to die. The government (and its corporate shills) absolutely cannot be trusted in matters of politics. Electioneering in the media by proxy has been going on for a *long time*. We're just finding out now through the Internet how dirty that business is.

Let's not even go into the takedown of Ron's website. That needs to be investigated by private security firms.

Does anyone find....

it strange that the media is acting surprised by the reports of others in the media....that the media is not paying attention to Ron Paul?

I feel like it's almost a

I feel like it's almost a cover-their-butts campaign right now. I think they realize that their little scheme didn't go as planned....so every station is attempting to appear reliable.

Ha Ha, "Cover their Butts"

i liked the "Bought the Baloney" line. The two go together.

You people who say there is no "conspiracy" in the media...

Just look at this...

http://la.indymedia.org/news/2003/04/47530.php

This is an old website(2003), so some things are different today, but the main theme has not changed...

The companies that own ALMOST ALL of our "main stream" media make billions of dollars off of...

WAR.

And if you think they are going to give the only anti-war candidate any REAL, SUBSTANTIVE AIRTIME...

You are as crazy as they say we all are.

You'll notice that even all the stories about how he's being ignored still say, "He can't win." "He has no chance."

Figure it out people. These people have been manipulating the public for decades. They're good at what they do.

here's another

Some people I talk to think highly of Walter Cronkite, they remember him and love him. This has been a good one to show them, accepting an award from the "World Federalist Association".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpOJgmHK9ls

And then there's the one where Cheney admits his CFR affiliation:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOAk-7F1EVU

And to round it off, the quote from a CFR member David Rockefeller:
"We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. … It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."

But even without all that there's the one where the feminist lady explained how she drove a media agenda...

We've Never had the truth I'm afraid.

The fact that show this proves there's not an anti-Paul

conspiracy. Reporters have disagreements among each other about what's important. There may be anti-Paul cliques, but that's as far as it goes. Fox especially, because if there's a Fox anti-Paul conspiracy, how do you explain Judge Napolitano and Stossel who explicitly advocate for Paul and his views? The media is a lot less organized, and more chaotic and spontaneous, than conspiracy theorists realize.

You've been ZAMPED!!!!!!!

He seems to have unified...

There are those who complain about the "liberal media" (I know - I'm one of them), and others who complain that Fox is some kind of right-wing propaganda thing, but at least they're unified in their mass snubbing of Ron Paul.

When BOTH wings of the statist media conspire against a man like that, I consider that to be the most powerful endorsement a man can get, as long as we conscious folks continue to pay attention, and get out the Ron Paul Vote!

Freedom is my Worship Word!

Maybe...

I agree and disagree, obviously the establishment doesn't own every individual that's on the air waves, no doubt about it (some people still have principles to stand up for themselves). But in a more general sense i don't think this argument holds up very well. There's not a snowballs chance in hell that there wasn't some sort of mass campaign to minimize what occured at the straw poll. It started leading up to the straw poll...the few days before when people were nervous he would win... fox and the rest of the media were running all kinds of stories about how this poll doesn't mean anything...how previous people who won didn't end up winning the nomination. Then, the day of and after the win, praises to Michele with a surge of all kinds of media attention and a sudden forgetfullness of all the stories they had just run...and not snippet for Ron Paul. Anyone who doesn't believe that major players involved in media, military, wallstreet etc don't have a ton to lose if he's elected....need to dig a little further. There's big bucks standing in the way of a person like Ron Paul.

Gee Liz, at least get his name right

She calls him Rand at the 1:27 mark in the video, and Ron does NOT! promote throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Really?

There's still enough negativity in this piece to instill in people's minds, Ron Paul is unworthy. If I was watching this and I didn't know anything about Ron Paul, I would think there is no reason to look into him further. Like most establishment media, Fox is doing what Fox is paid to do, distort reality and try to control what people think.

RE:

I don't agree with Liz Trotta's joking remark that Obama should be killed or shot....but I do agree with her 100% that Fox and other MSM are having a hard time following RON PAUL.

This is too bad because I believe the public has moved on beyond the a Left vs Right Narrative. Yet the Press and Fox seems married to this old narrative (unconsciously?) and supports the Status Quo. It supports the status quo with the question that is its mantra, "But who will win?". Calling out serious questions under the rubric of "win" without first seeking "the best" answer to America's problems makes Fox a part of the Status Quo. It is jut like David Sirota says here on CNN: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e80LyatdEI

Case in point, Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and the whole Tea Party who says, ENOUGH with the SPENDING, be it Welfare or Warfare, its time Washington SHRINKs.

Now comes Ron Paul and YES a Republican CAN BE ANTI-WAR, ANTI-DRUG war, Anti-Tax, Pro Border Defense and Pro Free Trade. Indeed there are MILLIONS of us who think that way and we are not all 100% pure libertarians....we just think there is a LIMIT to our collective resources, its high time to dial it back. Washington must go on a massive diet or America will go into a cardiac arrest.

Ron Paul is our champion (Palin, Bachman and Perry are not our champions because they are for MORE Warfare SPENDING).

So learn a new NARRATIVE... and most of all, get into POLICIES that "will work", vs "will win". The more the MSM goes on and on about who or what will "win" while failing to discuss or disusing only mildly what "will work", the public holds you in disfavor. You Fox news, could look into one idea at a time of Ron Paul, such as, what would become of America if we ended the Drug War? Did it work anywhere else? How would we handle those with addictions. Would or would not addictions increase? Did more alcoholism occur once prohibition was ended? How is Portugal faring with Drug Legalization?

Another idea, how to defend America without having to defend the world. How would that work? Would it help our economy with bases back home? Would it increase our freedoms and would it increase our safety? How much of the world REALLY needs our protection after-all?

A full 1/3 of the voting public has moved beyond the Left vs Right narrative. The MSM and Fox is looking like its a part of the Problem, not part of the Solution.

Nice Job, Liz Trotta!

If we had such simple candor on a regular basis, we would not have the current mess. Look for Liz to be terminated, like Tucker Carlson and Lou Dobbs. (O, I forget, Lou didn't quit, his house was riddled with bullets after making some honest comment about RP, so he "retired".)

A lot of the battle is a simple airing of the truth. A lot of people hate RP because he's a racist (false), he's a Nazi (false), he hates Gays (false), he hates Jews (false), he hates Israel (false), he WOULD end Social Security (would?), he is 'for the rich corporations' (false), etc, etc, etc, etc. If one has to make up lies to defeat a man, then one is worse than a simple liar, one is working to defeat Justice.

I can tolerate it if someone hates Ron Paul because he stands for Individual Rights, Liberty and the Constitution, because then the truth is out and we who truly stand on the side of Justice will win.

Again, this was a very nice job by Liz Trotta - Keep it up Liz!

Would it be possible to get

Would it be possible to get Tucker to step into the campaign? He has lost 'everything' MSM-wise already, so why not pull through and go the whole nine yards?

Media accused of ignoring Ron Paul?

AWW were they accused of ignoring poor media neglected Ron Paul? That's rich, they have been ignoring RP for 20 years you buffoon, what's changed? What's changed is the media was turned into a laughing stock by Jon Stewart and that's something that these sociopath, ego eccentric, self important pundits can't have.

Heard any good jokes lately? Did you hear the one about the Fox news anchor who thought he was a journalist.....LOL

Most honest comment from the MSM ever

Right near the end where he says "They will decide it ( the news) the night before at a Georgetown dinner party."
Exactly, thanks for the being honest.

Who attends these Georgetown dinner parties?

Mostly it would be the CFR, Trilats, Buildaboogers, etc. This was everyone knows what to do the next step! This has been going on since the inception of these foul groups. Of course it is crass of me to suggest it, because they are just having a dinner party! What's the harm in a dinner party? Aren't people allowed to talk at dinner parties? What am I anyway for suggesting ulterior effects, a fascist?

Really sick..

of the media not understanding what their effing job is. We dont need your bias, we need you to report the news.

Ron Paul raised $1.6M yesterday. Did any of your beloved front runners do that?

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul
