When this idea was suggested it got a lot of support.

Are we going to let this die?

The market has spoken...

I predicted this idea would be a bust and it is. People are inspired by the big events with big ideas, not making monthly/weekly installments. Please do not keep pushing this idea. Money bombs are amazing and fun, this is monotonous.

PAID -- I made good on my pledge

Come on everyone, this is the best thing going right now. Give all you can on New Years but let's show some support for Ron Paul Pay Day.

"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"

Ron Paul is my President.

Is there still a plan for

a New Year's Eve moneybomb? I have $100 set aside but I would rather drop it on the more impactful donation day. I would really like to see us break $20M!

Reasons for low numbers.

1) Little internet buzz for new payday scheme, too short lead up for 1st donation day.

2) ronpaulpayday . com site is broken. I can't load the signup page in Firefox.

3) I get payed on 15th and 30th (two days away)

I sent mine a little early

I sent it last night instead of today. I just couldn't help myself!

Well it's a nice idea for

Well it's a nice idea for sure, but people ought to quit trying to make a name for themselves by coming up with a whole slew of good ideas and efforts that relate to money when it is impossible to float that many projects. Just like the government starting so many programs that none of them work anymore simply because there are too many to support.

We had the money bombs. We have just regular donations to the campaign that we don't need any gimmick to trigger. And we have a great advertising tool in the blimp that these payday donors could invest in and is already in progress. Why let that fail in order to get into something new. Finish one darn thing at a time please.

Nothing matters if it doesn't get completed or finished. The payday thing is a bad idea. The publicity after the money bombs would be minimal. People get tired of gimmicks. No reason a lot of us couldn't contribute every friday without having a site to promote it. All it does is invite a chance for some to point to a declining interest.

Get the darn blimp paid for. Get the money rolling into the campaign as well without gimmick. Wait until Iowa and New Hampshire and get something created afterwards based on what happens. We will be called to action for super tuesday and this whole payday thing is a distraction.

I only signed up tonight

I signed up and already donated my money. I think the payday idea is great and more affordable in this mess of an economy that we have. However, I plan on helping Ron Paul get to the $20mil. I am not worried about him winning NH/IOWA as long as he has a strong finish. I believe that with all of his dedicated support, he may possibly win in both IOWA and NH. I can't wait until caucus day, I feel like a kid waiting for Santa Clause to come. Keep the faith, he will WIN.

I like the idea.

I will spread the word.

I agree and will donate

I have committed to weekly donations. This is Not a money bomb, but rather a sustained donation drive. We can all afford something each week. Please donate to the cause!!

I just donated to the blimp

I think it is OK if the amount is not HUGE, like the money bomb. The more an idea inspires, the more people will give. However, there are a lot of competing ideas out there all needing $$. Let's keep them in the light and be grateful for what comes in. If this doesn't end up inspiring then it doesn't hurt to explore another idea. The bombs were genius! My husband had to hold me back from giving more than we could afford as I watched the numbers climb!

Brilliant article that explains why we love Dr. Paul:
http://lewrockwell.com/orig12/farber-r1.1.1.html

It's 3 days after Christmas dude....

This time of year everyone is broke. Everyone buys gifts, and many people travel. We also just raised 6 million. You gotta give people at least a few weeks to recharge their bank accounts.

Donations will flow... *if* Ron Paul does okay NH and Iowa

Personally (for all its worth) I think donations will pour in once Ron Paul does decent in NH and Iowa - and no, I dont want to sound pessimistic, but I think alot of people have given up to this point and are waiting to see if Ron Paul can prove himself a viable candidate.
IF RON PAUL DOES SUPER good in NH and Iowa, I think he really will have the ball rolling.... but I fear that if he does poorly NH and Iowa might be a make or break point....
I think that is why the campaign is downplaying NH and Iowa and really pointing fingers at SUPER TEUSDAY...
a poor showing at both events will be hard for Ron Paul to turn around..

now dont shout and scream TROLL... been there and survived thanks to my number one supporter Jane... (hi Jane) but I really think come Super Teusday we will be in a do or die situation...

If he wins them, they will come...

Pretty astute

I imagine many supporters are anxiously awaiting the Iowa/NH results to validate their support. Unfortunately, primaries are about momentum. RP needs to acquire it to become a contender on Super Tuesday, so Iowa/NH are critical. The days when a grassroots candidate could build credibility over months of primary battles died with Mondale's defeat of Gary Hart in '84.

Still, we should plan for success and ensure the funds roll in regularly to fight the next battles.

Money bombs are so 2007

Nice. LOL

I am in -- this is the best thing we can do.

I am between jobs but I can still commit to give something every payday.

Money bombs are so 2007, let's move on and give the good doctor a steady reliable source of funding.

"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"

Ron Paul is my President.

i'm in

i may be a full time student without a job but i'll survive giving $10/week
mmmhmmmm

Steady income is vital to the campaign

...but why doesn't ronpaul2008.com/donate offer a recurring contribution option? Hillary offers one (I won't link - you know the site):

A recurring monthly contribution is a charge that is automatically deducted from your credit card each month. Charges will continue until November 4, 2008.

Now that is long-term thinking! The campaign should offer this on a weekly or monthly basis and publish the number of recurring pledgers. We can then boost these totals rather than rely solely on money bombs.

im in and signed up.

Keep on topic

And stop posting this in every thread

We are nearing 9K, but again

We are nearing 9K, but again it's more about the participation.

Just my little two cents...

I think the money factor is really accomplished now. He has tons of money...probably more than all the other Rep candidates. He probably will make 20 million by the 31st, especially with the New Year's thing. Although, if the offline donations haven't been included, he have already have 20 million. Either way, he has enough money now. We need to see what happens with the elections and if he wins them, the donations will flood in and we won't have to worry anymore about money.

Money may not be less of a concern now...

but you have to understand that one of the main goals for Ron Paul's Payday is participation. At this point that may be more valuable than the $$$.

The conference call

I was on last night said Hillary has something like 250m. I can assure you he doesn't have enough money.

Possibly more people will sign up after the New Year's money bomb, maybe not. Lots of people don't like to sign up for these things.

Exaggeration

Hillary had raised $89M and had $50M on hand as of September 30th. Perhaps the figure referred to what she is likely to raise if she becomes the nominee. I agree the campaign is awash in money at the moment, but starting a reliable stream of income is important if RP is to be viable into February and beyond.

What????

Money accomplished? Was that a typo? We need to keep going. Defeat happens when you get comfortable...
Can we delete that post? I hope you gave more than 2 cents.

Totally wrong...

We need to keep up the fundraising. The money Dr. Paul has now needs to go into his February 5th strategy. He needs every dime for that. Dr. Paul needs to be assured that we've got his back for the post February 5th states. There are going to be a lot of delegates to pick up, and if this ends up being a brokered convention, we're going to need every last delegate we can get.

It looks like this payday idea is a bust. We should move forward with money bombs.

its only a bust if you kill it

I think this still has a chance of taking off. We just need to spread the word.

...I don't want to kill it...

I don't think I possibly could. Ideas are bullet proof, as they say. But they gain power from people adopting them. The only thing that kills this idea are people dropping out. Just the same as the money bombs.

...just the same as the entire campaign.
