"I Like Ron Paul, He's Great But I Don't Think He Can Win," - Heard That Twice Today From Two Friends

My father essentially said the same thing Sunday evening. "I agree with him on a lot of issues, but I just don't think he can win."

See a pattern here?

The CENTRAL TALKING POINT being spewed by the oldstream media is, "Ron Paul Can't Win."

We MUST fight repetition with our own repetition!!!

That false talking point is permeating into the American mindset....courtesy of the oldstream press.

The oldstream media repeats the same main talking point, over and over and over again...."Ron Paul Can't Win," in many ways.

Americans are literally being BOMBARDED with this false message. Repeat a lie over and over and over again, and eventually The People will believe it, especially when some pretty young infobabe tells you Ron Paul is a long shot candidate, wink wink.

SO.....how do we combat a false message that is being repeated over and over and over again on the boobtube?

The Ron Paul Nation MUST fight back with OUR OWN REPETITIVE MESSAGE.

Just imagine...average Joe or Jane American wakes up tomorrow morning and on their way to work they see EVERY SINGLE CAR with a Ron Paul 2012 bumper sticker on it.

I thought Ron Paul can't win?

WE NEED TOTAL SATURATION of the highways....

A bumper sticker is a very simple and VERY EFFECTIVE way to REPEAT (over and over and over again...) our own talking point: Ron Paul 2012 - RESTORE AMERICA NOW!

BUY A RON PAUL bumper sticker today, and START REPEATING Ron Paul's message over and over and over again on the highways and and byways of Main Street America.

I personally think a simple bumper sticker on hundreds of thousands, if not millions of vehicles CAN remedy this problem being perpetuated by the oldstream media.

Sometimes the most complex issue can be solved with a very simple remedy.

OH!!! I got this one last weekend...

Talked with a gentleman last weekend who told me that Ron Paul "scares the hell outa" him because he wants to legalize drugs.!! I calmly explained that RP is simply saying that the FEDERAL government isn't supposed to take care these things and that it is up to the States according to the Constitution. He still was un-fazed by this explanation. Any idea on how we could best defend our position with people who think like this man?

I got lots of this in '07...

from friends. "I'm not gonna vote for Ron Paul because he doesn't have a chance to win." HUH??!! This isn't a freakin' horse race...the object isn't to pick the winner..the object is to choose who YOU believe is right for the nation and personal liberties. Follow your heart and turn off the TV.

If everyone who said this

If everyone who said this would vote for Ron, he could and would win.

They are just repeating what they have heard.
Mindless sheep.
What I would tell them is that if they vote for any other candidate in the primaries, Obama will be re-elected.

Ron Paul is the only Republican who stands a chance against Obama in my opinion

When someone tells me RP can't win...

I ask them if they are so good at predicting the future than give me the winning lottery numbers.

No one can predict the winner right now - just support the candidate you want to win and that's that. I believe the people who say that he can't win are fudging the truth and really don't want RP to win. Forget them, move on to those with open minds and who really care about this country. They are out there.

Tokyo Rose said... 'you can't win'!

Since the party bosses, and especially the media, are using the 'he can't win' or he doesn't have a chance', phrases, remember, it is simply the big red flag, the big siren, the warning bells going off in your head that you are hearing the enemy of Paul and liberty... nothing less!

A reply might be: "Now that you have identified yourself as an enemy of Ron Paul and liberty, by trying to demoralize the forces for liberty, remember that the only way anyone is elected is by my voting for them, with or without you!

My defense is found in Patrick Henry's statement, that "Suspicion is a Virtue, if in the interests of the good of the people."

Furthermore, in voting and nominating Congressman Paul next spring, it will be by virtue of the fact that those who cherish liberty and the constitutional rule of law over tyranny, 'always vote for principle, though voting alone, and they do always cherish the sweetest reflection that their vote, unlike yours, is never lost.' (to paraphrase John Quincy Adams)

Remember, whether you are friend of liberty, or foe of Congressman Paul, never forget that the grassroots who stand uncompromisingly for sound money, the constitutional rule of law, non-isolationist foreign policy of friendship and commerce rather than empire wars, 'are not weak if they make a proper use of those means which the God of Nature has placed in their power... the battle, sir, is not to the strong alone - it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.' (again I borrow from Patrick Henry)

Article had EXCELLENT point, folks!

Let's do what we can ... BUMPER STICKERS are a great way to show that Ron Paul DOES have a chance!!! Please, Liberty Lovers, let's band together and SHOW them!!!

Can we beat "The System?'

That is my question. I know the voters are there. But I have been dispirited by the corruption so much that my pessimism says the same thing. "Can he beat It?"

My only hope is that the big bad "They" let him win, thinking They will pin the nation's problems on him but instead his ideas actually save us and he gets the honor he deserves.

Posters below have excellent advice. Positive affirmations.

President Ron Paul - 21st Century American Hero

Mainstream medias' big like:

Mainstream medias' big like: RON PAUL CAN'T WIN. When forced to comment on Ron Paul, whom they prefer to ignore, the media repeat the big lie: "Ron Paul can't win".

I have seen this before in other elections. Yeah, we know so and so is the best candidate, but he can't win, so you need to chose one of the losers who will continue the same policies of stealing, corruption, loss of freedoms & c. In effect, chose the lesser of two (or more) evils.

The truth is Ron Paul CAN win, and if mainstream media didn't think so, they wouldn't go so far out of their way to ignore him. Mainstream media are just propaganda outlets for the same gang of thugs (Democrat and Republicans) who have been swindling us and destroying our freedoms for decades.

If you take care of the pennies,

the dollars will take care of themselves.

They need to understand that at the grasstoots level the victory is won by little bits at a time - each vote adds up - total victory is attainable.

And how about voting your conscience? If Ron Paul does not run - I will not vote. Plain and simple - they are ALL the same.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

Remind them of your title here

"They Don't Think". Then go from there.

Saying that Ron Paul can't

Saying that Ron Paul can't win is the same as saying WE THE PEOPLE can't win.

I don't buy that for one second. WE MUST WIN! This is a fight for the very life of the Republic. If we lose it is over and this country will be a despotic hell.

"The United States can pay any debt it has because we can always print money to do that." — Alan Greenspan

Perhaps we need to explain to

Perhaps we need to explain to doubters:
"The media and GOP establishment is doing everything in their power to ensure he doesn't win...but people are waking up. It's too obvious now that the Media and GOP are trying to sabotage Ron Paul's growing support and popularity by not covering him at all so people like you will think he can't win... but the truth of the matter is he very much CAN WIN and the power elites don't like it"

I converted 3 people

off of that line of thinking yesterday.

The Rasmussen Poll was released yesterday showing in a national poll match-up of RP vs Obama that RP was 38% vs Obama 39%.
That's well within the statistical margin of error for the poll, and RP is on the way up, and Obama is on the way down.

There is no way anyone can say that "RP can't win" after that poll. He's currently in a statistical tie with Obama.

Case closed.
Anyone continuing to argue with you after showing them that, isn't worth wasting your time on.

This isn't a statement I worry about

Anytime I hear this in person I LAUGH, and I mean a full loud HAHAHA. As if, YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME RIGHT?

You think that HE can't win BUT you feel those like obama, bush and perry CAN win???

Ok but just because IDIOTS are voting for IDIOTS to destroy our country in mass numbers does not make it right.

We do NOT need to waste our money overseas just because a majority of idiots feel we should.

We do NOT need to waste our money HERE paying for IDIOTS who vote for IDIOTS to live off of OTHER idiots.

Everyone needs to wake up to the fact that this guy they call unelectable is only looked at that way because you people are MORONS.

then if your crazy rant doesn't scare them off keep ranting lol.

I am done with idiots destroying our republic

They can merely just vote for him and see what happens lol

You do not know unless you try !!

you're absolutely right. The

you're absolutely right. The MSM planted that idea, there's no other reason why people would actually believe that. If everyone got out and voted for him, he would win by a landslide.

If everyone that likes Ron Paul votes for him, he'll win by a

Than say so. Enough people saying it has just as much or more effect as a negative statement of that sort.

Some rules - don't link back to the negative statement. It's a statement that just floats by itself, completely positive, often repeated by people all over. Blogs, internet, in person, etc.

"If everyone that likes Ron Paul votes for him, he'll win by a landslide!"

He'll be the next Ronald Reagan!

You see, it's already true. The people who are saying they like him who really don't are only saying it because ENOUGH PEOPLE ALREADY LIKE HIM TO WIN BY A LANDSLIDE.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

I LOVE this!!!

So true! We MUST make a positive counter-reply! "If all those who like him voted for him, Ron Paul WILL WIN by a landslide!". This will be my mantra starting right now! Can we ALL do this?

It's an assinine, idiotic, ignorant, illogical, statement!

That's why we can spend hours on DP, afraid of it!

Childlike statements have always worked for the unthinking! The media uses them all the time. It is called color! It is emotion. It is not reality.

Quite frankly they really do not know the meaning of what they are saying. Just ask someone who says that and watch them stutter. The usual first response is to back track somehow.

Just like a child might say to grandpa carrying a load of wood... "you'll never make it up that hill." Voting and math and deciding and logic and good sentence structure, is all challenging to the average voter!

They are like the folks who sit by the fire with their tea, and say single words or single sounds, all evening, like yes yes yes... or uh huh, uh huh, or, this cake... wow. Then they get up, re-confront reality, say good bye, and leave.

So just tell them... I don't have clue what you are saying. Explain. Exactly what do you mean?!

Or, 'sorry to interrupt but I thought you misspoke... didn't you mean, He doesn't have a chance if I have anything to do with it?!'

Or, 'no he won't win unless we vote for him. That is how elections work... or didn't you realize that?'

Or, 'He doesn't have a chance? Wow, you know I have been looking for a good bookie, who is he?'

They will look at you like you should know exactly what they are non-thinking. When they try, all will be clear to you.

At this point you can rest your case.

Well, there's that too. You

Well, there's that too. You can make statements like that too. Actually, we did a few times last election. It worked.

From the movie The Blues Brothers:
Jake: Book us for tomorrow night.
Maury Sline: Hold it, hold it. Tomorrow night? What are you talking about? A gig like that, you gotta prepare the proper exploitation.
Elwood: I know all about that stuff. I have been exploited all my life.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Here's another idea

What I have been doing (as a JBS member) is to send my e-mails from them to others on my list. They have been promoting the fact that Ron Paul has introduced legislation that would repeal America's gun free zones, as well as another that would end TSA's groping practices. One of my targeted friends tried to tell me that "because of his stance on Iran, Ron Paul is done", as well as "we must prevent Iran from getting nukes, otherwise a large part of the world's oil supply will go up in flames and destroy the Middle East". This person is pro-gun and pro-life, but admits to leaning imperialist on foreign policy. That's precisely why he's being targeted with the JBS e-mails, and will continue to be until he tells me to stop doing so. So far, this hasn't happened. Nobody on my list has done so, so I hope to change some minds this way. This is a recommended course of action for others who read the DP who are also JBS members.

To live a creative life, you must lose the fear of being wrong.

and that is what Ron Paul has done everyday, which is why his movement grows.

There are many ways to counter the self inserted BUTTs =]
It all depends on you, the person you are addressing and the dynamic.
You can use my title point, or perhaps suggest telling people who say it sounds great BUTT, that Dr Paul has been a Congressman winning elections for over 30 years, so it is obvious that he knows how to win. All it really takes is for people to get rid of the BUTT leading the way and to not be afraid to vote for him

Or you could say voting for Ron Paul is akin to why Franklin made the, "Join or Die" flag. It obviously was not easy for the colonies to put their differences aside and vote/fight for the bigger picture; being free of an oppressive government.

There are many ways to go about it. The principles of success in this are love is the answer and if you're not having fun you are doing it wrong.

You may have said it all there.

Why am I afraid to vote for the guy who may lose? Does that somehow reflect back on me? Am I willing to take responsibility for the harm that may be done by the "winner" I voted for?

I am saddened by the number of good people who still buy the "lesser of two evils" argument.

The best response:

"Well of course he can't win: NO candidate can win without your vote!"

Then confront them (in a nice way) that the reality of recent scientific polling has already proven them wrong. There is no excuse for making that statement anymore - not for them and not for the media.

Then point them to the numerous recent polls - like Gallup (the 'gold standard' of polling agencies) showing Paul neck and neck against Obama, emphasizing upon the fact that Obama loses the most overall support running against Dr. Paul than he does against any other candidate. All of this, despite the incredible media bias (also backed by hard evidence) and lack of coverage.

Start with your title.

MSM Propaganda:
Never say it.
Never repeat it.
Never quote it.
Never leave it uncountered.

Ron Paul will win the republican nomination.
Ron Paul will win the presidency.

Send the memo to Jesse.

Post it everywhere he looks.

The 2012 chant:

Ron Paul will win!
Ron Paul will win!!

Truth always wins.

Counter it with OUR (truthful) sound bite:

"Ron Paul is the only candidate who can beat Barack Obama."

Polls support this--the media backs up Obama, and he's due to be re-elected if current patterns continue, even with the horrible economy.

There are a lot of angry Democratic swing voters, disgusted with Obama's policies on war, Wall Street, and civil liberties, who would vote for Ron Paul. Not so any other GOP candidate.

Support the Constitution of the United States

So what if they don't think he can win. Why don't they vote for him anyway?

I agree with him, but I don't think he can win.
So you'd rather vote for someone with no principles that you totally disagree with than someone with princples that you totally agree with. Makes perfect sense that someone with no principles should vote for someone with no principles.

I don't want to throw my vote away.
If you don't vote for him, you're throwing your vote away on a candidate you don't agree with.

If you're going to go with the herd, you deserve to be treated like cattle!

You're right, he can't win if everyone believes the propaganda.

That is what I usually say, if everyone believes the media propaganda, then he can't win.

This is just a repeat of the post below.

A lot of people simply don't know, and the first thing they don't know is the elections are fixed so they happen in the primary. They know they feel like they don't get a lot of say in the elections like they are suppose to, but they don't know why. Educate them, and in this year of crises, it will be like a floodgate opening.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.
