O'Reilly's Spin Zone

I just watched O'Reilly's segment on the crazy Ron Paul, and I have to say, it's oozing with obvious bias, misstatements, and outright lies.

For instance, Morris said that "Those 13% who love Ron Paul should be prepared for Obama to be re-elected if Paul wins the nomination," to which O'Reilly responded, "Because there's no way that Paul would win a general election." Of course, they ignore Paul's nearly neck-and-neck standing against Obama.

They say that Paul would advocate a gold-backed currency, which would hold our economy hostage to the gold mined out of South Africa.

Before the segment began, I knew that it could only go one out of three ways.

1. Dick "Paul is Horrendous" Morris would change the topic to whatever he wants to talk about, which he's good at, even on The O'Reilly Factor

2. Dick Morris would actually defend Paul some, thereby diffusing the situation and ending the interest in the story, so that nobody follows up.

3. Dick Morris would attack Paul with skewed numbers, thereby agitating the Paul base more.

It turned out that he couldn't help himself, and he went with option 3...poke the sleeping giant in the eye.

This is perhaps the most tightly-woven segment of biased commentary and outright lies, all of which easily disproven. At the risk of getting Paul banned from the O'Reilly factor, there is plenty to dig from in this clip. I don't have a video, but it may be on the FNC website soon. I'll add it if I find it.

Edit: For those who wish to directly contact O'Reilly, it's oreilly@foxnews.com and for those who with to directly contact Dick Morris, it's dickmorris@dickmorris.com (Thanks LeifEiriksson)

Edit 2: Thanks j and SaveOurSovereignty! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN2XoFp2Nxs (I don't think I can embed it, but then again I don't think I need to give them the extra air-time. Anyone unsure about the bias of O'Reilly or Morris should take the 4 minutes, though. It's very telling.)

Ironically, the more people lose faith in these shows

the more they help Ron Paul.

Also, please know that these shows are trying to reverse their falling ratings. And since anything Ron Paul boosts ratings, they'll keep talking about Ron Paul...one way or another.

As a candle flickers most just before dying, these neocon programs will wildly strike out before crashing and burning. Just like Beck's program did...remember Glenn's puppets and Murdock?

Here's an article on the

How anyone could purposely

turn that show on and watch it is beyond me.

Go back to Inside Edition, Bill. It suits your sensational, half-truth version of yellow journalism.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

You mean...

"For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged, by better information or fuller consideration, to change opinions, even on important subjects, which I once thought right but found to be otherwise." - Benjamin Franklin

At first, Bill talked the conservative talk

then he started to change his tune. He became neoconish. And the people really bashed him for it...calling him liberal...which perfectly fits.

Then the war came and most conservative people became so scared and blood thirsty, they backed the neocons.

Please know that the people only started putting up with this neocon crap because of the war.

Paul is right when he said that Bush initially ran on a modest foreign policy. Otherwise, Bush would have lost in 2000.

It is this freaking war that is clouding so many people's minds. But the clouds are clearing...just Ron Paul's victory in 2008 and since.

Neocons are liberals

who also love war.

If you look closely, they act and argue the same way that liberals do, which is only natural since they ARE liberals.

They use broad sweeping assertions which are entirely unfounded, and in most cases outright lies, in order to establish their false proposition. Then they rely on the emotional impact of fear that this assertion has on the listener, in order to get their result.
It's what's been called, "The Politics of Fear".

For years, people have said, "You'll never lose an argument with a liberal if you stick to the facts and hold their feet to the fire".
Same with the neocons.

Because again, they are not any form of "conservative" at all. They are big gov't liberals. They attempt to use their love of war, as some "replacement theology" which in their minds would make others consider them "conservative", as if being pro-war has any relevance to conservatism. They are able to pass off warmongering as "patriotic" to the mouth-breathers. And that's basically the extent of it.

So, what do I think would be an effective approach to them?
Call them out as the socialist liberals that they are, and repeatedly showcase that they support big gov't and big spending and big debt in the form of wealth-redistribution programs involving the military and the military/industrial complex.
The military is 100% socialist as an entity. It creates no wealth, and is a total drain on the economy and taxpayer. Exactly like any other socialist program.
Hitting these people in the face with the FACT that they are NOT conservatives, but ARE in fact liberal socialists, will be the biggest wake-up call they could get. Even a slack-jawed mouth-breathing neocon might wake up with that.

So Oreilly and Morris acted

So Oreilly and Morris acted like spurned spoiled little kids who could not get their way so they threw a hissy little conniption fit bitching session in full pubic display. Oreilly and Morris' response says a lot about the the level of emotional maturity of these two.

Agree that until Oreilly can act like a grown up and have a real rational discussion, President Paul should stay away from such childish immature forums like Oreilly's.

Pesident Paul has multiple major interview requests on a daily basis. He has the luxury of being very selective about which forums he chooses to patronize, and he has earned that luxury.

Let it not be said that we did nothing.-Ron Paul
Stand up for what you believe in, even if you stand alone.-Sophia Magdalena Scholl

this is what they will say next....

ron paul would talk to iran but not to o'reilly...

it is good strategy that Dr. Paul does not waste his time appearing on 'Reilly. It could be a good idea for the campaign to rather schedule an interview with Bruce Fein (who is very respected, also represented Dr. Paul in 2007/8, and Bob Barr, was in the first rRagan administration and in several think tanks and I think he is also Jewish, which would squelch the ridiculous anti-Jewish craze that Paul is supposedly in some neocon and other circles and his wife Maggie Fein run for congress in CA against Jane Harman in 2010).

Its just silly and the worse part is he probably does't know he was invited because of Jesse Benton's incompetence..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

IMHO Benton has taken exactly the RIGHT decision not to get Dr. Paul on O'Reilly. O'Reilly has not only been critisizing Dr. Paul for how long now, but also bashing him repeatedly. You got to be very naive to think O'Reilly would not play ugly with Dr. Paul AND after the interview have a chat with someone like Krauthammer, Morris etc (probably more than one even), bashing what Dr. Paul has said during the interview and painting Dr. paul as a kook. They simply have to take things he has said out of context and/or take one sentence or word and totally reinterpret it to make it seem totally crazy (e.g. spin).
IMHO O'Reilly would for instance try to play Dr. Paul off against his own son Rand by playing the clip of the interview he did with Rand just after he won the election about Iran and sanctions and ask him why is his son and others are wrong etc. etc. He will also paint him as a right-wing fringe candidate on economics and someone both parties would not be able to work with (which is not the case of course).

Have you noticed judge Napolitano does not appear on his program since a long while: they had a fall-out and O'Reilly kept bashing Freedomwatch.

Strategically I also think it is a good thing Dr. Paul is not on the program as O'Reilly cannot get a handle on him and it is going to look very unfair of him when he keeps bashing him on the program without Dr. Paul present, e.g. I think it will backfire on him. O'Reilly's ratings may also suffer.

There is a youtu

How do you know the Judge and

How do you know the Judge and O'Reilly had a falling out? Please provide your source, not a guess.

Do you want Paul to lose? i dont understand why you would want them to bash him without him being there to defend himself. Sounds like a loser tactic.

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Sooo why did Ron turn down

Sooo why did Ron turn down the interview with O'Reilly? Was there a good reason?

Ron should stay away from O'Reilly...

...he's too good a propagandist. An interview with him would be like another Rachael Maddow/Rand Paul interview filled with loaded questions, false arguments, and straw man attacks. Whenever a person seeks to remedy the logical fallacies inherent in O'Reilly's questions, O'Reilly accuses them of "spinning" or "dodging" the question. This, of course is a debate tactic used to lull the audience into the association fallacy. He did exactly this to Ron back in 2007. Why repeat the experience with someone who is only interested in taking Ron down.

Here's what happened last time:

I'm with Ron on this one...stay away from the propaganda machine. We're doing well enough.

Cuimhnigh orm, a Dhia, le haghaidh maith.

Good question

I would like to know this too. *pre-bump* Anyone know any more information on this?

On the one hand, saying that Paul doesn't want -real- questions is laughable. I'd like to see Chris Wallace unleash his wrath of tough questions on Herman Cain, just to see him cry. But having seen the amazing poll results, despite the lack of media coverage, I'm starting to really internalize the beautiful possibility that the talking bubble-heads actually do not matter.

Michael Nystrom's fists can punch through FUD.

Why even pay attention?

The obsession here with the MSM is very evident to this day. Hopefully he and other folks will simply "shrug" it off and move on to winning. There was a video for this, hmmm:

You got to eat an elephant one bite at a time...

The RP Campaign should send in Charles Goyette to the Factor

The RP Campaign needs to send out big hitters like Charles to do some of the batting. Ron can't be at bat for all 9 innings.

Listen to Charles here on Freedom Watch. Charles has the fast tongue that could wipe the smirk off of O'Reeelys face. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVsfgMJ_eHA

Dont email him, that's what he wants....is like when you tease your younger brother or sister, as soon as they figure out to ignore you, you stop doing it. just pay no attention to him.

use their own tactic against them.

Plus he takes up Valuable time that you could be using on a better purpose and that is probably what he really wants is to detour us.

What I don't get it is how

What I don't get it is how come his terrible show is the highest rated news show on TV... Wtf?

His audience thinks he's dumber than them.

That makes people feel good.

I advise not to email Oreilly

I advise not to email Oreilly because that's exactly what he wants. Instead, I am going to post of Facebook what a has-been liar he is and everywhere else I can think of. If all the sheeple want to follow the herd, they'll see that it's not cool anymore to like Oreilly. How about a thousand of us do the same?

If you have already emailed Oreilly, I totally understand your frustrations.

If you can reach over 2

If you can reach over 2 million people in a day, then I would agree... but I doubt it...

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

I just shook my head when

I just shook my head when they advertised they were going to *talk* about Ron Paul, and not have him on.

They must really be desperate for ratings.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

"oozing with obvious bias, misstatements, and outright lies"

boy, oh boy, you got that right...i couldn't help but to think that EVEN o'bully's base wouldn't buy this load of crap that he was selling

morris looks like an old drunkard with yellow teeth and the old bully is failing in his old age...stooping to put scantily clad women on his show to entice viewers and what about those viewers? the blond in the pushup bra noted (again/ad nauseum) that o'bully's "numbers" were the highest on cable...

i'll bet they are a helluva LOT lower than they were 4 years ago

the armour is chinked, the old guard is dying and they're bringing in women in tight dresses with long legs to get you to watch...sad to see the women prostituted, yet i gladly welcome murdoch's demise

its 'cos I owe ya, my young friend...

Amen to that, and with each layer broken, more of the silent majority feel emboldened. But in our defense, we have some beautiful women who proudly sport Ron Paul campaign attire!
