I'm in for another $25

4th purchase for me. I think it is well worth the investment.

Just donated another $50

Keeping the Blimp up is a must. A top two finish in S. Carolina and Florida would be huge, going into the rest of the primaries. I think the media coverage will greatly increase as the southern primaries get closer. Just $25 from everyone will get done. New visitors to DailyPaul and new donors to the campaign should look into the Blimp. $25 will pay off greatly towards getting Ron Paul's name out to the masses.

Can we get the blimp to fly over the fox debate

That would make an impression.

A couple of dumb questions.

Is this Jan 18th 2008 or 2009?

If I donate, will my donation be counted toward the $2300 limit?

Sorry, I'm rather new to this.

government of the people, by the people, for the people
---

you got questions, I got answers

The current donation is to keep the blimp flying until Jan. 18th 2008.

Any donation will not count towards your $2300 limit.

Speaking of donation limits, I think kids really support Ron Paul and I hear that a large number of kids donate their allowance to his campaign.

No

The Blimp is not associated with the official campaign in any way.

Delayed blimp-effect in Raleigh, NC

Read this story:

http://www.raleigh2.com/default.asp?sourceid=&smenu=1&twindo...

"RALEIGH - Only a week after the Ron Paul blimp and Ron Paul rider team passed through, Ron Paul for President signs have appeared in Raleigh.

Evidently, Ron Paul supporters in the Raleigh area have been busy. Motorists driving down Wade Avenue off of Interstate 40 in Raleigh probably have noticed both some homemade Ron Paul signs and regular campaign signs on the side of the road..."

I was there!

..it was awesome!!! i brought my family. passed out slim jims, had a lot of thumbs up...lots of good showing from supporters. trevor got an ovation and cheers....

oh, and it was my BIRTHDAY today...what a great present!

Well, this is the type of PR that was needed

Like the Jacksonville TV footage. Outstanding. And Orlando will catch people from all over the US vacationing, and their kids will be pointing up to the blimp.

I think the warm weather venue is what was needed. Especially while Ron Paul is being ignored by the MSM elsewhere.

Great job!

Another facet of supporting the Blimp...

...is that it pretty much flies in the face of FEC regulations which makes the Blimp an even more appealing to me. If I had the means, I'd finance the Blimp myself.

From the article here: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1207/7245_Page2.html It will automatically produce independent expenditure forms for customers to print, sign and mail, which Collette predicted they'd do because "word has gotten out that this is going to bury the FEC in paperwork for the cost of stamp."

Hee, hee!

Take that, McCain/Feingold!!

Foreign Donations

I'm a Brit - an English Grandma - my two sons live in the US. We love America and it's people. I'm a Ron Paul fan and pledged $100 when the initial blimp appeal went out but when it came to pay time I found I wasn't allowed to fulfil my pledge. When they changed status I tried again, but still, if you don't tick the 'American' box it won't accept.... foiled again!

I do wish someone would come up with a legal way to accept foreign donations to the cause. Your rules are really tight and I'm amazed that the max you can donate is only $2300. How long has it been set at that level? Does it keep up with inflation? It's all very frustrating.

Best wishes to you all from the UK - the world is watching and hoping.

Re: Foreign Donations

Thank you for supporting Ron Paul from England! Seems that freedom is popular world-wide and I am just amazed at the wonderful comments I read from foreigners.

Yes, our campaign finance laws are very restrictive--essentially silencing the voices of We the People.

I sent a message to the Blimp people and their response was that foreigners cannot sponsor the Blimp due to the laws about foreigners influencing US elections. However, they are going to check with their attorneys to see about foreigners buying Blimp merchandise.

However, there's another venue needing financial support and *reportedly*, they accept foreign donations because it's a private entity: http://www.lewrockwell.com. Lew Rockwell founded the Von Mises Institute and gave up tax exempt status to devote the site to support of Ron Paul. It's a first stop on the 'net for many of us Liberty Lovers. So if you can help them, you're still helping the cause of Freedom.

I'm sorry man...

I have given $150 towards the blimp already. I just don't have the money...

I just gave $100 towards

I just gave $100 towards blimp. Candidly, it's a shame, but I had kinda forgotten about it. Time to give again!!

Blimp

Yes, this is a great way to promote Paul--a lot of bang for the buck. Please join us in contributing (or purchasing)!

I have donated

but...IMHO ..I think that if the blimp website was better run ,and had more current info and a better plan as to what it was doing ,people might be more inclined to donate.
For instance, whenever I log in they are never broadcasting and there is never any info on when they might be broadcasting. Not trying to be a wet blanket, just trying to understand why folks are not more supportive.

This is a worthy project

it is providing a ton of free media coverage, especially in Florida, which has a lot of delegates. 50 bucks from 2000 people will run it through the superbowl! the biggest of all advertising market.

Me too

I just kicked in another $50.00 and will be contributing to Ron Paul Pay Day tomorrow.

Let's keep this thing in the air. Thanks everyone.

"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"

Ron Paul is my President.

Donated Again!

I originally pledged $50. to the Blimp. That was paid for on the second day of actual donations. Since I have sent them another $50. and today another $25.
Let's pull together folks and get this thing up in the air to stay. They have admitted their mistakes and are heading south to better weather where the constant publicity can only help. $10. $25. $50. or more. Anything will help!!

We're almost there

We're almost there, and think we all should pitch in that last little bit to get the blimp over the top. :-)

I'll send in more than my

I'll send in more than my pledged amount if they get paypal going or get a P.O. Box to accept money orders.

Can foreigners donate to the Blimp?

We need to keep our International teams involved in what is happening on the homefront. Any idea on how they can donate?

Yours in Health and Freedom

Dont think so

What happened if it was someone who benefitted from US defense contractors?

The door swings both ways

"No visas for people from terrorist nations"
-- Ron Paul, presidential TV add on immigration.

Send Trevor Lyman a personal gift

He'd know what to do with it.

Plano TX

No foreigners, sorry

It has been implied that foreigners cannot sponser the blimp. I thought the whole point of becoming a LLC was to avoid such limitations. How can a privately owned LLC fall under the jurisdiction of the FEC?
Are you saying that someone from say Ireland could not buy a billboard in the US?
I am confused as to why there are limitations on foreign support when this is now a private business and doesn't even say "president" or "election" or really anything political on the blimp.

Thanks.

I think the problem lies in the fact that this falls under the foreign nationals influencing elections/politics category. My understanding is that if the blimp promoted a return to the Constitution or the use of Industrial Hemp foreigners could sponsor time but because it promotes an individual who is up for election they cannot.

Recant

Edit: no comment

No.

It's been discussed many times.

I'm pretty sure they can

I'm pretty sure they can since it's a private company.

But one of the check-boxes is...

"I am a U.S.individual."

I am not a lawyer, but I suspect that means "no." It's weird, but nice, that so many nice foreign folks like our Constitution so much, and actually know who-here stands for it. I'm usually totally-ignorant regarding most of their countries. But we need to keep clear of any laws that would get the campaign into trouble, so I suspect the Blimp-lawyers want to focus on the US citizen speech issue.

I'm sure foreign donations, perhaps to a separate entity entirely, would also raise "interesting" legal issues, but that might be an issue for another time, especially if we can change/clarify the relevant laws by starting with the Blimp. :) I just can't wait to see it Saturday.

They should be able to

I wouldn't see why it would be any different than them buying a product from any other american company.
