Walker's Blowback: Wisconsin Town Bars Republicans From Labor Day Parade

Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11:18 AM
In previous years, Republicans have worked the parade route, but this year they will not be allowed to take part. The parade is organized by local unions, which said Wisconsin Republicans "have openly attacked worker's rights."

Wisconsin politics — which hasn't been pretty of late — has made its way into a local Labor Day parade. The organizers of the Wausau Labor Day parade announced they would not let Republican lawmakers take part in the Sept. 5 display. The parade is organized by 30 local unions.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports:

In a statement, [Randy Radtke, president of the council,] added that the parade is intended to celebrate working men and women and what the labor movement has given them: weekends, a 40-hour workweek, child labor protection and a safe working environment.

Unless they are throwing silver rounds from the floats.....

this sounds like the most boring parade EVER!!!! Most folks will be at BBQ's anyway.

My typical response to this debate...

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are RIGHTS...

Not Abortion, Welfare or Collective bargaining.

Wisconsin is an "At Will" employer/employee state so the fact that the state would choose not to enter into contracts with Public employee unions is completely legit.

Not only that, public union collective bargaining is essentialy bargaining against the citizens/residents of your local community.

Also... Public unionized employees get paid with government money which comes from the people in the form of tax revenues, a portion is then deducted from their pay checks in the form of union dues, that money then goes to unions that expressly support and donate to democrats for their elections who in turn have given unions more power/leverage/money in exchange for their union members' votes.

So essentialy the citizenry pays for democrats to get elected. That is infringing on MY RIGHTS to a FREE ELECTION.

Somewhere there are men planning the next destructive and evil ploy to make this world their own... The common man is not part of that plan as we would see fit... Merely pawns to be used against one another.

On a side note, a local plant nursery owner sits at the

entrance and says "No Democrats are allowed to shop at my business....take it else where" ! The divide-and-conquer thing is still working.

Just a thought.

Considering the fact that the Unions and The American Workers Party, which later became The Workers Party USA and then The Communist Party USA, created labor day to celebrate Labor Collectivism, it's no wonder that they would ban Repubs from their parade.

Nothing but

a bunch of communists celebrating a communist holiday.

Soviet Union Official Motto: "Workers of the world unite!"

I wonder if workers have to

I wonder if workers have to declare themselves as democrats before they're allowed to be in the union? Do workers not have the power of free political speech within their own unions or for that matter anywhere?
