They say that China will become old before it becomes rich.
This is because of the one child policy, at some point the ratio of old to young people means the population becomes top heavy. More people of working age will have to support those unable to work. Much of the wealth will go on dependency.
Looking at the most recent Gallup poll it looks like something parallel will happen to Ron Paul. His ideas will become mainstream when he is long gone.
Where the age breakdown occurs on the link above, you can see the younger you are, the more likely you are to support Ron Paul. Ron Paul has the best support of under 29's and almost no support of retired. If you are young, you know you will get a bad deal and you have not paid much into the system, so have less to lose by listening to Ron Pauls ideas.
Young people are listening and attitudes are changing, but it will take many years till those old'ems drop off and are replace by those who have seen the light. At the same time new young people have to subscribe to Ron's ideas. This explains why Ron Pauls polling numbers are not changing massively. It will take many years to filter through.
Am I wrong in my analysis?
