Cops Confiscate Lakewood, Ohio Lady’s Arsenal; Motive Pending

"When Rice kindly asked to have her toys returned, the cops acknowledged that the weapons were legally owned. But they refused to return them without a court order. And so Rice has filed suit in Lakewood Municipal Court."

"Lakewood Police Chief declined to speak generally about situations in which Lakewood cops would be likely to seize property on a whim."

Money is not enough with this act of tyranny.

Throwing these people out of their jobs is what is required here. Who is her lawyer? This case is a "res ipsa loquitur."

Seizure

Very irresponsible of the police to put it mildly. Those police are either ignorant or crooked. I hope for them they are more on the ignorant side.

I happen to like chicks with guns......

could that be considered a fetish?

"..hardcore weapns of death..."

Ya just gotta love the media...even the small-town papers are ultra hippies. Good grief.
Francesca should sue her condo association, the building super who unlocked the door even though the unit wasn't on fire, the police chief, and even the freakin' judge that is allowing this idiotic behavior.

Love how they call it an

Love how they call it an arsenal. lol...

They no doubt labeled her

They no doubt labeled her apartment as a "compound". When the government calls your abode a "compound" you know they're ready to go in with the storm troopers.

this is an excellent example of

why folks should use solid gun safes and keep them locked whenever not at home. Bad guys wear all sorts of costumes these days. Rice's situation may very well have been avoided by not relying on her "neighbors" and a locked front door. I can't think of any reason to use a cabinet to store firearms except to show off to guests.
BTW, for those who are considering the purchase of a safe:
Avoid the electronic touch-pad style entry mechanisms as they do require some form of electricity in order to function and will become completely inoperable in the event of excess moisture (flooding/wet basement, etc.) or a situation involving EMP.

Nothing yet from any of Cleveland's major newspapers that I can find.

Bump for facism

In my own backyard... (Can we get angry yet...)

Lakewood Police Chief

needs to be personally sued in civil court until he is destitute.

found another reason to stay away from condos

I hope she sues the condo company for illegally entering her home without her consent.

Agreed!

We have the 'castle doctrine' law in Florida. I assume condo rules do not trump it.
