Politico: Paul may object to President Barack Obama’s surprise request to address a joint session of Congress

I hope he does it!!!

"Texas Rep. Ron Paul, a Republican candidate for the presidency, is considering whether to use his power as a House member to object to President Barack Obama’s surprise request to address a joint session of Congress at the same time as a long-planned Republican presidential debate on Sept. 7.

“Dr. Paul is weighing his options,” the veteran congressman’s spokesman, Jesse Benton, told POLITICO when asked whether Paul would object to a voice vote on a concurrent resolution allowing for the president to speak from the House chamber."

The establishment CANNOT allow Paul & Perry...

...to debate(.)

They will do everything in their disgusting, degenerate, power to keep these two apart.

The administration will loose even more credibility for this childish act.

They have NO IDEA how many people are becoming Ron Paul supporters with each B.S. thing they try to pull.

So, actually, this is good news for Liberty. :D

POLITICO Breaking News : Obama Bows To House Speaker

POLITICO Breaking News

President Obama, bowing to the complaints of House Speaker John Boehner and other Republicans, has moved his jobs speech before a joint session of Congress back one day, to Thursday, Sept. 8.

For more information... http://www.politico.com

I expect this...

from this President and Boehner is such a wimp imo.

donvino

Games!

If you go by the pretense that there is a difference between the democratic party and the neocon party, then you would come to the conclusion that this is an attempt to undermine the Republican debate. If you go by the pretense that there is no difference between the parties then this (could be)/is a political ploy to undermine the liberty movement! If it is, or is not, a ploy to undermine the liberty movement, it should be called out the same as the deliberate attempt to undermine the Iowa straw poll, and to try to dismiss the liberty movements efforts as futile.

The President

is acting stupid. What foolishness.

Has anybody else watched

the last several times he appeared on tv and blamed everything on republicans? I dont think he is making americans happy by cutting into their tv shows and blaming the other party. I think most people who care that much knows to just go ahead and wait till the next day and get the cliff notes from whatever side of the isle they lean towards. Democrats will get the cliff notes saying how smart he is, and republicans and smart people will get the cliff notes saying how dumb and tyrannical he is.

What are the odds he does a television address...

So do we think he'll add insult to injury by just addressing the nation on television during the debate's timeslot instead, since he's been shut out of the first method?

Nice, Obama.

Nice, Obama.

NPR : "Are you going to the debate or the joint session?"

Ron Paul stated to the NPR host he didn't really think about which he would attend, but he thought is was odd that Obama didn't schedule it for Tuesday.

Nothing Obama does surprises me. He is the most incompetent President to date.

O' is not incompetent...

...he's the front-man apologist/whipping post for the PTB, and has, so far, been VERY well rewarded for his stripes.
Isn't Tuesday one of six other days scheduled for 18 holes for O'?

Its not like he is going to say something that we..

havent already heard. Wow I hope Ron Paul really capitalizes on this and makes obama think twice before crossing him. Rommney visibly sweats when asked a question about the constitution. Bachman took a big gulp when forced to go toe to toe with Ron Paul. Time to put that same fear and anxiety in that empty suit. Ron Paul is the People's President!

denied!

LOL the government is even too stifling for tyrants now. It cant happen because they have to do a security sweep at the same time. That's hot bureaucracy in your face Obama.

WOW

What a dirty tactic...and this is who our president is no wonder America is having these problems.

He has no integrity

whatsoever.

Why is Obama in such a hurry?

Why is Obama in such a hurry? Like he's done anything useful at all... since occupying that office. I think his announcement to take the US fully into Chap 11 can wait a few days.

Just got email from Trevor

Just got email from Trevor Lyman including POLL for what we would like RP to do. By following protocol to attend, this joint session would remove Paul & Bachmann from the debate. Not sure I should post the link here??

Trust in God, but tie your camel tight.

I got an e-mail from Trevor as well...I voted "NO!!!"

NO's have it 71%

This is evidence of a lack of leadership.

At one point in Obama's presidency, both chambers would have stopped everything and ran to Obama's call. All he had to do what step up, and he didn't; that's made us recognize the need for true leadership in this country, rather than a good-looking brand.

there is only 12 that matter

what's the point?

POLITICO Breaking News

House Speaker John Boehner rejected President Barack Obama's request to address a joint session of Congress the night of Sept. 7th and invited him to speak the next night instead.

In a letter to Obama, Boehner said Sept. 8th would be better "so we can ensure there will be no parliamentary or logistical impediments that might detract from your remarks."

It's like high school all

It's like high school all over again.

He can address anyone he

He can address anyone he wants. That doesn't mean they are going to be there to hear him.

Request Denied - Please hang up, and try again later.

Speaker of the House already rejected the request.

Currently waiting for the crybaby response - and be sure to stay tuned for the 'no fair' and 'if they had let me speak when I wanted to things wouldn't be so bad' and the 'this is just a demonstration of partisan politics' comments coming from the oval orifice.

I Predict

I predict that Obama's staff will apologize and "admit" they didn't know of the conflict.

Obama is seriously over-estimating his support if he thinks Democrats will support the undermining of democracy, and the deliberate abuse of the democratic process.

Comics and talk-show hosts, musicians who buy guitars, raw-milk drinkers, anti-war activists, and pot-smokers have already deserted him. Has he got any support left?
