Can you guess who has the world's largest army?

Received via email...
True story and most people will never know it.

Here’s an interesting side bar. After the Japanese decimated
our fleet in Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941, they could have sent their
troop ships and carriers directly to California to finish what they
started. The prediction from our Chief of Staff was we would not
be able to stop a massive invasion until they reached the
Mississippi River. Remember, we had a 2 million man army and
war ships…...all fighting the Germans.
So, why did they not invade?

After the war, the remaining Japanese generals and admirals were
asked that question. Their answer…...they know that almost every
home had guns and the Americans knew how to use them.

The world's largest army... America's hunters! I had never
thought about this....

A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of
states and arrived at a striking conclusion:

There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of
Wisconsin ..

Allow me to restate that number.

Over the last several months, Wisconsin 's hunters became the
eighth largest army in the world.

More men under arms than in Iran ..

More than in France and Germany combined.

These men deployed to the woods of a single American state
to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed.

That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the
woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan 's 700,000 hunters, all of
whom have now returned home.

Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it
literally establishes the fact that the hunters of those four
states alone would comprise the largest army in the world.
The point?

America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that
kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting -- it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of
national security.

That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us

Food for thought when next we consider gun control.

Sometimes I think they phrase: "Lets fight em over there, so we do not have to fight em here" is a weak point. If we were to fight em over here, the war would be a very short and concise one, which shows that the plan for non ending no bid contract wars are here to stay. It should also wake our members of Congress up to the fact we need no Homeland security, as we are the homelands security, and no man will fight harder than he does for his own property, if we could truly own our property.

a true understanding of the

a true understanding of the second amendment.

Why do you think the

Why do you think the Government is so busy disarming the American people?

Wait a minute. TheUS did't

Wait a minute. TheUS did't have nay troops overseas at the time of Pearl Harbor. The US didn't enter the War II UNTIL after Pearl Harbor..

Please have your facts straight...

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Waited 100 years! Spanish / American War history was bloody!

Check the results in places such as:

  • Philippines. Battle of Manila bay. When did we leave?
  • Cuba. Guantanamo Bay might be interesting.
  • Puerto Rico. Did we leave? What happened in 1913? Why was IRS HQs established there?
  • Spain. USA paid Spain $20 million & signed the Treaty of Paris instead. So which side really won the war? Was it buying colonies on the cheap?

Here is one of my many published reports on the USA buying Spanish colonies for $20 million & Declaring the Spanish/American War a victory.

A Rifle Behind Every Blade of Grass

Some (usually progressive) historians dispute Admiral Yamamoto actually said the following: (paraphrasing)

"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

Also, I do not think the U.S. had 2 million men on ships fighting the Germans. The Germans did not declare war on the U.S. until Pearl Harbor and after the U.S. Declaration of War on Japan.

Correct. Admiral Yamamoto usually spoke Japanse.

Many quotes & actions clearly convey Yamamoto's reluctance in using force against the USA.

Before the Japanese forces plotted their attack on Pearl Harbor they first discussed attacks on the mainland of the United States. A Japanese Admiral educated in a US University, warned against such blunder as he briefed Japanese military command:

"You cannot invade the mainland United States.
There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."
    - Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, Japanese Navy, 1941. Translated from Japaese.

Much to his chagrin, military command ordered Admiral Yamamoto attack Pearl Harbor instead.

Most US troops were close to home or protectorates (Philippines, Cuba, Peurto Rico, Hawaii, Midway, etc.). Naval escorts of our lend-lease supply armadas were intercepted in route and protected by the British fleet as they neared England.

I know that sometimes people feel . . .

the need to build themselves up.

(not speaking of hunters, but of the general feeling that *we* as citizens are outnumbered, somehow, by the PTB and the out-of-control direction the American military is going)

But hunters are not a collective. They don't all share the same political beliefs. So . . . how do *they* protect America?

I speak as someone who has done some shooting in 'my day'; I speak as someone who was taught to handle a gun at a young age and who grew up with hunters (male and female). None of the people *I* know who hunt have very sound political beliefs. They may be good hunters, and they may be very humane individuals in many ways, but they are neo-conservative to the core.

Not ture

Not true. The whole premise and argument is false

Japan did not even attack the rest of Hawaii just the military base Pearl Harbor. They could have taken over Hawaii but did not. As a side note, it is interesting that those stinkings Japs attacked a miulitary base to start the violence, but we decimated cities to end it.

We did not enter ww2 or even raise the 2m troops to enter ww2 until after the pearl harbor attack.

The japanese swept over all

The japanese swept over all of Asia. They laid siege and then captured both Corregidor in the phillipines and Wake Island. When the troops of Corregidor surrendered, they were then force marched to prison camps while being abused and murdered along the way. "The Bataan Death March" is what we call it.

Just in case you're trying to make some statement how we americans bombed their cities after they waged noble warfare against us.

I assume 'stinkings Japs' is spoken with . . .

sarcasm towards those who see WWII as a black and white event?

I hope so.

I live in South Carolina and

I concur with this message. :-)

Don't mess with the hunters - there are plenty of them - I hear them "practicing" all weekend long...

China has the largest number

China has the largest number of active + reserve military. Russia has the largest overall when also considering their paramilitary forces giving them a total over 20 million or so.

About the hunters, or just Americans being armed in general, I agree. There are a lot of guns in civilian hands in the US and I hope we are able to keep it that way.

About the Japanese general, he had said something about the fact that they would encounter a rifle behind every blade of grass if they were to invade our mainland.

"Remember, we had a 2 million man army and war ships…...all fighting the Germans."

Not trying to flame you, blounttruth, but the USA did not enter WWII before Japan's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. There were neither warships nor an army deployed to Europe or Africa until 1942.

Wholly concur with your assertion as to why the USA would be near impossible to defeat in a war fought on our soil.

Logic dictates that: Wrong action has to lead to wrong results; and right action has to lead to right results. Period. No exceptions.

They don't need to beat us with guns...just fool us

They over the infrastructure...once at the helm, the media, academia, military, politicians, etc. all fall in line.

That pretty much is what happened and now we are in this mess with the neocons and the neolibs. Neither Dem or Pub party are like what they used to be...why? They were hijacked.

They just lie to us and fly the US flag. And we just think everything isn't that bad as long as the US flag is flying.

Well, it's bad folks.

moral of the story? buy ammo.

and whiskey, there are plenty of guns.

I'm one of the 600,000

in Wisconsin. If Red Dawn were to happen here, I have much better range and accuracy with my 7mm Rem Mag than they have with their AK-47s. I'm down to only 120 rounds though.

Then if they are close enough, I could greet them with a Remington 870 and plenty of buckshot and slugs. The Glock .40 on my belt makes a quick backup.

They can roll in with tanks, but we all know what thermite does to steel. Aircraft? Where could they safely land?

After all that, they might get me, but there are approximately 599,999 of me left.

4 armed drones could wipe out your whole town

And a "smart bomb" launched from 500 miles away could finish the job.
So many of you guys plan to fight 50 to 100 years ago. Have you seen modern weaponry? It's waaaay more advanced than our popguns.

Guerilla warfare

Just like North Vietnam fought as we bombed them. It might eventually look like the ewoks versus the Empire, and not everything we try will work, but it will be hard to kill all of us. Of course, if they use biological warfare, and spray it in the sky, we're pretty much screwed.

Only Free people are armed!

Only Free people are armed!

Pennsylvania is the most

Pennsylvania is the most heavily armed state in the union. With that mountainous terrain, those redneck hillbillies could survive multiple nuclear attacks and military invasions and still come out smiling.

Pennsylvania is America's last line of defense against the savage Yankee hordes, and the line is holding well!

Been To NC Lately?

Take a good look at a NC map...I dont know about the rest of the state..but start with Cleveland County...and up from that and all the way to the left going up into the mountains...Those from here are loaded to the gills...
Theres people way up in the mountains still living the way they did over 100 years ago.
They have no electric..no plumbing..They grow and make everything they need. They use horses to plow even.
If you go up there...you might not see anyone..but they see you...if you still there when the sun starts to set...you'll never come out...By the time the kids are 10..they can out shoot most 'trained' adults.
Talk about being off the grid

I was just out in Lake Junaluska area in the Smokeys not too long ago. Looked pretty developed. One too many paved roads for my tastes.

Remember something else: North Carolina isn't surrounded on three sides by Soviet oblasts. Pennsylvania has to live in a constant state of war preparedness not only because of her external enemies, but because of occupying Democratic forces inside her borders, inhabiting Philly and Harrisburg and advancing their way into the Susquehanna Valley.

We'll hold them at Blue Ridge and the Delaware. That is where we draw the line between freedom and tyranny!

thats what the 2nd ammendment is for!

(to ensure the security of a 'FREE STATE'). Here's a few statements I found on how the founders interpreted the 2nd amendment.

"I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them."
George Mason
during Virginia's Convention to Ratify the Constitution, 1788

"Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that's good."
George Washington

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them."
Richard Henry Lee 1788

"Those who hammer their guns into plowshares will plow for those who do not."
Thomas Jefferson

What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms."
Thomas Jefferson

"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!"
Adolph Hitler 1933,
Dont forget Germany was a Republic before they lost their guns

Here's Dr. Paul's interpretation

Excellent research. Thanks for all the quotes.

This comment expressed the entire ideal of the 2nd Amend. Thanks for posting.

And that is why TPTB decided

And that is why TPTB decided that the only way to take US down was from the INSIDE. Inside job...Mk?

True enough

Most likely in physical stature as well lol

2nd Amnd.

I have tried to locate some history on this subject. In our very Constitution of the U.S.A., the 2nd Amendment refers to a well regulated militia. Where in history did militia become a negative, in these days, a terrorist regime? If I am correct; militia is the citizenry protecting their property and freedoms against foreign and domestic threats (with honor to do so.) This turned into a bad term because of who, doing what, when?
I do believe force is not the answer. On the other hand, has being prepared to DEFEND against force been declared wrongful?
