Great time at the Calumet County Fair promoting Ron Paul!Submitted by SavvyRonPaul on Tue, 09/06/2011 - 10:07
What a great weekend! The Calumet County Fair is a small fair held over Labor Day Weekend, but the cost of the having a double booth was so reasonable, I thought what the heck! Turned out we had way more interest than I ever expected, especially compared to the Winnebago County Fair we attended earlier in August.
Our Fox Valley Ron Paul Meetup sponsored a Ron Paul Booth complete with the World's Smallest Political Quiz, a petition for people to sign urging Sen. Ron Johnson to Audit the Fed (Campaign for Liberty), issue cards, dvds, books, bumperstickers, yard signs, and buttons. We even have a t.v. playing "For Liberty" and a dvd with a compilation of Ron Paul interviews.
If your local meetup has not done something like this, I highly recommend it. I am still on a natural high from it and I can't wait to set the booth up at a Tea Party to be held in Oshkosh this Saturday.
So what's the cost you ask? Here is the list:
One booth rental: $120 + $50 deposit for next year
Two 6' tables: $70 after $10 rebate
Two fitted tablecloths: $35
Ron Paul Balloons: donated from a meetup member
T.V. and dvd player: donated from a meetup member
Slimjims: donated by meetup member
DVDS: donated by meetup member
Bumperstickers, buttons, and yard signs: all meetup member donations
The books we have for sale.
Also, we found that having the petition really allowed us to start talking about Ron Paul in a non-direct way and made it much easier for us to introduce him, but the majority of people there knew about Ron, but wanted more information. So the dvd with all the interviews was being handed out alot!
And the best thing to have at your booth are CANDY and BALLOONS! We told the children they could have a piece of candy if they took a slimjim to their parents and it always worked.
We handed out 100 balloons and collected 70 petitions. Here is the link to some pictures:
Best Labor Day Weekend EVER!
