Sarah Palin Jumping In? Chris Christie? How about Rand Paul?

For us political junkies, the 2012 race is "on". But for most of America, the next 5 Republican debates will be a fast click on the remote. They will click and say, "I'll start to pay attention later"...like Labor Day NEXT YEAR!

Meanwhile, Sarah Palin still has time to jump in and so does Chris Christie. They both know that there is plenty of time. Even Rick Perry does not feel the urgency.

Because our R3VOLution is big enough, I think we can entertain one more Paul on stage, Rand Paul.

Rand Paul "makes his own decisions" as he says, and so I think we should encourage him to run.

If for no other reason then the media will love this "father-son" race. Rand can respond, I think my candidacy helps my father, like his candidacy has helped mine." And then there will be the inevitable question, "What do you do if he beat you?" and the clever Rand Can say, "Or I beat dad. Well the way we figure it, any Paul victory is a Freedom victory."

Most of all, we in the R3VOLution get to introduce Rand Paul to a National audience during 5 TV debates. In 2016, when the GOP elites are all behind Jeb Bush, the rank n file will dearly remember Rand Paul.

Moreover, if Rand was to jump into the debate, he would ADD another FREEDOM voice to resist the chorus of NeoCon warmongering. I like that.

In peace and liberty,
Treg

IMHO

a very bad idea and besides, Rand Paul has already said he would NOT/NEVER run against his dad. I think it is a bad idea as it would dilute their support, only lead to media discussing their differences (largely in tactics actually), while totally ignoring their similarities.

Rand Paul is already campaigning for his dad and hope he will be very active in the campaign.

Look at Gary Johnson, who has much more executive experience in politics than Rand, polling at 1-2%. Rand would also poll in single digits. Johnson is not even in the debates. If Rand would jump into the debate, he would dilute some of his dad's support and then none of them (maximum only one of them) would be allowed in future debates as they will increase the polling qualification for debates, from 1-2% to 5% and then more, mark my words.

Chris Christie has just yesterday again said he will NOT run for president and enjoying being in NJ too much. Palin does not know what it means to set up a 50 state campaign support (which takes time) and she does not really add to the personalities, and would just dilute Bachmann's current support. BTW: it is really not that early anymore, actually very late to join now. Palin has it against her that 2/3 of tea partiers are against her jumping into the field, and she first has to overcome that, which I very doubt she will be able.

When a new sailor boards The Yankee Clipper ship, he is in awe!

When a new sailor boards The Yankee Clipper tis a marvel to behold. He is in awe. His dreams of growing to be captain, given time, pass through many a storm. Alas, dreams to come true.

Trim craftsman lines, billowy sails, & taunt rigging of The Yankee Clipper! Full sail, with its state of the art bow jib on the high sea is the fastest cargo ships to sail of its day. One of the easiest to glide into port too! Nary a ship better built.

Our Ship-of-State has complicated rigging. Even I know all my knots by the book... I cannot figure the rigging of our tar nation.

My best regards to you, Senator Paul, & Dr Ron Paul.

================ The Yankee Clipper ===============
Silver screen (1927 - 81 mins.):

The US is behind in shipping and international trade. With Britain's ships being faster, they are getting all of the good contracts. To compete on the international stage, an American ship builder creates a sleek and sturdy vessel that he's sure can beat anything the British have. The ship, named The Yankee Clipper, is led by a young captain, Hal Winslow (William Boyd who would later go on to immortalize himself as Hop-Along Cassidy). Wilson takes the ship to China where the fastest English ship is also docked. A powerful Chinese tea trader offers the entire American tea market to whichever ship can make it to Boston first. To add a bit of spice to the competition, the captains both wages their boats as well.

Just before the race is about to start... Winslow is visited by Lady Jocelyn Huntington...

It would be a good publicity

It would be a good publicity stunt if they had entered together earlier with the paul polling the lowest dropping soon after the start.

At this point in the race Rand actually WOULD dilute RONs vote and the low polling numbers would only serve as a catalyst for the media to crush our movement.

So I think Rand should shoot for 2016.

I am very much pleased to see Rand Paul's tremendous progress.

Let Rand Paul succeed as a leader in the US Senate.

Let each man chart is own course.

Sanguine... cheerfully optimist, I am... [Reflect.] On my own course... of course.

I like that idea a lot

You're absolutely right. The media would be forced to pay attention. There would be enormous buzz in the media. Maybe this is what needs to happen.

Rand Paul does what he does well. He is now a fine US Senator.

Dreams of growing to be captain take one on many a harrowing passage. Given time, dreams come true.

that is like Rand saying he

that is like Rand saying he does not support his Dad.

Of course. To me, even this

Of course. To me, even this suggestion is ludicrous. Geeze.

Can't afford to fund 2 candidates.

Just not enough money to go around for both.

Just get on stage in the 5 debates and see what $ rolls in...

My view is that it really couldn't hurt either Paul... nor would it hurt us.

Rand Paul has tremendous

Rand Paul has tremendous potential on the national stage. His form of governance is more palatable than Ron's for more "moderate" (ew) people.

If Rand were running right now, he MIGHT be in Romney's spot just south of Perry. Don't get me wrong, Ron is the disciple, leader and source. But Rand might be the one to lead us to the actual promised land.
