Talking The Talk Or Walking The Walk - I Need To Vent A LittleSubmitted by Truthiness on Sun, 09/11/2011 - 13:13
I've noticed a good number of people commenting lately that seem to have an issue with the ad that called out Rick Perry or Jerry Doyle mocking other politicians.
It's been frustrating for me to see the people that think that all we have to do is talk about how great Ron Paul is and talk about the Constitution and sing a Ron Paul song on youtube and vote on every online poll.
These are great ways to make us feel good and keep us feeling like we are doing something but folks, you have to understand that we are simply preaching to the choir.
This is a fight. If we don't fight back then we will lose. We have been bringing a knife to a gun fight for years now and it's time to either get serious or sit back and watch this election go by the same as the others have.
You can't win the Superbowl by telling the fans that you're better than the other team.
You have to actually PLAY football and play better than the other team. Play fair and honestly...but actually play the game. Period.
If all we do is talk and sing and pass out flowers and emulate the Dalai Lama....the opposing team is going to mow us down on the field yet once again.
So when an ad is put out by the campaign that actually attacks one of our opponents in a fair, honest and factual way....don't run out on the field and get in the way of the quarterback. Please.
When a talk show host with almost 4 million listeners and 200 radio stations supports Ron Paul and is one of the only guys in the mainstream media with that kind of influence who is giving our guy a fair shake....don't stick your foot out and trip the wide receiver as he's trying to run for the end zone. His job is to make points and educate through humor and mockery and entertainment.
It's time to play ball and that means we have to do more than talk. We have to play to win.
